I had bought tickets in advance for my best friend's bachelorette party, but she ended up diagnosed with strep throat that very afternoon so we were unable to use the two tickets. She didn't feel well and we didn't want anyone else to get sick. We called that evening before the event to see if we could cancel or reschedule, and the instructor who called us back was unable to help us. Arielle, who I assume is their customer service representative, was also unable to help me, she could only offer me 50% off tickets in the future, which really odesn't help me as I live in Pennsylvania. I am disappointed with their customer service.

I am disappointed :( I was not able to attend paint nite due to a back injury and had hoped to reschedule. Instead, I was asked to forfeit the ticket. I have been to several paint/drink events (a couple through paint nite previously) and will be attending more but through another vendor like The Paint Bar or Wicked Art Bar. I don't want to offput anyone, but I think its a consideration...Proprietary businesses are more likely to be understanding than a national corp in the event you have an emergency or have to work late.

Paint nite was the amazing experience I had ever had. Painting with beer I never thought it was gonna be such a memorable experience.

Plus I got this experience in such a cheaper price. Guys get it from here

What a complete waste of time.  The instructor cancelled the class with no notification whatsoever.  Proceed with caution!!

Attended my first Paint Nite last night at Burbank Bar & Grille and I had a blast! First off, Burbank Bar & Grille is a charming little place and the food was oh-so good! My friend and I always order appetizers and share with each other. That's enough to fill us up. I ordered the Mac & Cheese with bacon and jalapenos, and she ordered the Quesadilla and Tater Tots with cheese and bacon. Oh my goodness! Can I just tell you how heavenly the Mac & Cheese was!! Anyhow, back on topic. Since we were early, we placed our purses at the seats we wanted to sit in and let them finish setting up. Unfortunately 3 girls who showed up late, held everyone up who was ready to rock'n'roll, because they insisted that they sit together and they expected Christian and Eric (Paint teachers) to accommodate them by making someone move for them or set up another table. Finally, 10 minutes later, the girls are seated and set up and we all begin painting. Christian is a great teacher and explained every step. He also took time to walk around and see if anyone needed individual attention. Eric was also helping anyone who may have needed it. Now I am not artsy in any way shape or form. Creative, yes. Artsy, NO. My drawings consist of stick figures. But this was so easy, and my painting didn't come out to bad. This isn't your typical "Learn how to paint" class, so don't go in expecting high quality stuff. The paint brushes are you run-of-the-mill, used for every event type of brushes but they get the job done! You're given a palate (plate) of 5 colors, and mixing between those colors is how your get your other shades. If you want to enjoy an evening with your friends laughing, having a few drinks, maybe a bite to eat, and painting, then I definitely suggest trying Paint Nite! I will definitely be back! Can't wait till my next paint adventure!

We went to Paint Nite when it was hosted by Friend Street Cafe.  I really enjoyed myself.  I feel like I don't exercise my creative side often enough.  I can be too critical and a perfectionist.  I like that I was able to be guided through the painting without over analyzing it and I left with a painting that I actually like.  It was a little cramped at this location, but it served it's purpose.  The staff was friendly and overall it was a good experience.

I got a deal through Gilt and have always wanted to experience Paint Nite.  So I am not going to lie when i was excited about going to this.

Originally we chose based on painting.  It was originally scheduled at North Star but I guess there were issues and they had to relocate to a coffee shop last minute.  I mean the whole point of us buying paint nite was so we can have a drink and paint.  So at least they let us reschedule without penalties.

We chose another date for the same painting (CityScapes) taught by Sarah Beigle, it was held at Barney Fannings.  Great service where the waitress made sure we were taken care of through the event.

My disappoitnment was that we were seated in a way where we coudln't see the paintings at all!  They had 2 displays and both of them didn't face us.  We had to get up and take a picture of it with our phone to have an idea of what it even look liked.  The artist was facing the complete opposite direction from us and told us she would turn the painting to show us and we still coudln't see because of the lighting.  She was not helpful at all, we had to go up and look at what she did because we couldn't see anything even when she turned the painting to us.  She was busy helping everybody else and didn't come to the corner where we are.  Everybody that saw at the corner where I sat was quite disappointed.

The friend that I went with to this event has been to paint nite before and told me it's not usually like that.  So maybe it might reassure me to try it again, but if it is anything like i experienced, you are better off trying to paint yourself at home.

Boozing and painting, Paint Nite was fun.  It is exactly what it said it is.  This is like art class in grade school, except everyone is intoxicated.  By no mean this is for serious painters, they give you grade school acrylics and random paint brushes.

Mine was at the Friendly Toast.  While I did make some new friends on that night, I do wish that we weren't as crammed.  There no space to put anything.  My beer was hidden behind the canvas, I have to be super careful to knock it over.

I have no artistic talent at all - none - but I still had a great time and highly recommend this.  It's all set up for your to paint  when you arrive.  The instructor plays excellent music and shows you what to do.  And you can do the painting or not!  One preson in our group was a trained artist and came with a friend who was a novice- no problem.

I followed the instructor pretty closely and her instructions were very clear and easy to do. When I needed help (my depiction of a green lawn was having major 'issues') she demonstrated how to do it at my easel and I followed right along. I also sat next to several 'repeat painters' who were friendly and said it was a blast. They were right.

Donahue's was an excellent venue - good pub food, drinks easily available, and easy parking.

I'm already trying to get friends to sign up for the next one!  And I am hanging my painting in my kitchen where I can admire it every day!

I LOVE Paint Night!  A group of girls from the office hadn't been out in a while, and it was something different to try versus the typical 'apps and drinks' night out. We purchased the tickets off of Living Social. When we arrived, there was a secluded section of 49 Social (the venue) that was all set up with easels, paints, aprons, water, etc.  They played cool, trendy music, the instructor was super helpful and encouraging, and 49 Social had an abundance of staff to keep the drinks and food flowing while we painted. We were there for 2+ hours, and had a blast. I was very pleased with the instruction. They gave you enough flexibility so you could be as creative as you wanted.  I loved the outcome of my painting, and intend to hang it in my house as art work :)  I would definitely recommend this for 'girls night out;' whether it be with your closest girlfriends, mother/daughter night, or a night to bond with the office.  The attendees were all female.  Not quite sure as to why, as Paint Night would be great for a date, or just a group outing.  Also, aprons were provided, but I definitely would NOT recommend wearing nice clothes. It can get pretty messy if you're that into it!

I can't even put into words how much fun my friends and I had at absolutely fabulous last night with the paint nite crew.  Everyone was so much fun!!!  The instrucor and the 2 young ladies checking people in and helping around the room were so down to earth, friendly, polite and a made the class a blast!  It doesn't matter if you can paint or not, its great for a girls night or even a date night, definitely an experience you should try at least once!  And to all the Paint Nite crew, the restaraunt crew, the bartender...THANK YOU!

I found a deal on Gilt City for Paint Nite, so the boy and I headed to Clery's to paint a sunset scape, not really knowing what to expect since neither of us are very artistic.

I thought the artist-instructor was fantastic; she apparently is majoring in art education, and it definitely showed. She was patient, clear, encouraging, and upbeat, and made the class really fun, for both the real artistes in the room (not me) and the people who haven't picked up a brush since elementary school (me). It was a casual vibe with lots of beer, and the emphasis was on having fun rather than perfection (we were even encouraged to go off the grid if we didn't like the painting we were doing, or if we had other ideas, or if we were too advanced to follow her patient instruction). I have 0 art skills and wasn't expecting to even like what I'd done, but was actually impressed with my final product... anyone that can get me to make a painting as nice as that deserves a shoutout.

Paint Nite was a fun and different date night, but it would be just as great with a group of friends. They always have sales and deals, so keep your eyes peeled for some good discounts. Definitely recommended.

3 stars because it was fun to be with friends have a few drinks and paint. Instructor was a friendly college student.  For $45 though you don't get much.  Little instruction, very basic colors of acrylics, and a crappy bent canvas without anything on the back for hanging it (even after hanging, mine still wont lie flat against the wall).  I thought a glass of wine was included like when I'd done it with other companies in other cities, but unfortunately had to pay for my drinks. Was fine because I had a groupon but wouldn't pay full price.

Paint Nite is what you make of it.
Go with great company and have a few drinks and it will be a blast.
And isn't that what Paint Nite is all about?

The instructor could have provided a bit more instruction, but I'm used to most art teachers being quite lax in their pointers. Most have the "everything is good" mentality. Being an engineer by training, I need structure and rules darn it! But I appreciate their light personalities. ;-)
They start by providing you with all the materials you'll need. These include: Paint, Apron, Brushes, Canvas, Water, etc... Then proceed to show you the painting that you're are supposed to replicate.
My instructor gave us the option of painting whatever we wanted, so you're not locked into the example. Others in the room spiced things up a bit so you won't feel odd by changing the painting a little or a lot.
I had the luck of being surrounded by very nice, supportive individuals. They all went around complimenting each others paintings. It was an awesome vibe and I liked it.

One quick note, my Paint Nite took place at Scholars. The staff was nice, attentive and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. I'm not sure if they're always that way (I will have to visit them again) but they definitively were in this case.

Ah, I feel guilty giving Paint Nite only through stars because everyone else loves it!! I am writing this review based on my one experience I have had for Paint Nite. I went with a group of friends for an event at the Joshua Tree back in the summer. I was really looking forward to it, but when we arrived, we all thought the painting looked pretty different than the one online (colors, etc.). However, I love to paint so I didn't really care. The reason I am mostly giving this 3 stars is because I was disappointed with the artist. The artist was really vague and in my opinion didn't offer a lot of feedback to the students or much guidance. I was surprised because I think a lot of their paintings are great but I wasn't as impressed with this particular teacher. The staff were pretty friendly and everything was convenient, but I didn't think it compared to the Paint Bar in Newtonville. I found the Paint Bar to have more explicit instructions and be more well organized. I would give the Paint Nite another chance though because I think it's a great idea and I think another artist would provide me with a better experience.

I do want to say that Paint Nite donated a gift card to a silent auction for a charity event I was organizing, which was awesome. I appreciate them supporting a local nonprofit and it helped increase our profit, so for this I give them 5 stars!

My friend and I purchased a Gilt City deal for a Tuesday night session at Clerys. What a great concept! The paintnite staff ran everything so smoothly from setting up, checking us in and getting us prepped for the night. The instructor was great as she instructed us step by step on what to do. She was also full of positive feedback even though we all know none of our work were any Picassos in the making and looked like a child's painting in comparison to hers hahah. But the environment was very relaxing and casual with music and a bar.  It's definitely a very unique experience and I'd highly recommend it for girls night or date night.

I had originally read about Paint Nite in an article in the Metro, and a few weeks later I saw a Groupon for it. After much deliberation, my friend and I finally picked one to attend and had an absolute blast. Our instructor Molly was just fabulous, and Joshua Tree was a great host for the event! We both had a great time!

I'm kind of obsessed with Paint Nite.  I've been to three and have two more scheduled.  Paint Nite is such a fun time with friends, a meetup group, or a date.  The artists are really fun and they manage to help you make a painting that actually looks pretty good.  You get to know the other painters around you too as you peek over at their paintings or get into conversations about how worried you are that yours is going to suck, or how you need more beer to make it look better, or how you forgot that mixing blue and yellow will make green, or how surprised you are that your painting is actually looking awesome.  Honestly, I've never seen anyone's come out bad because the teachers are really good.  Plus, it's a fun way to spend time in a bar and have some drinks if, like me, you are starting to feel a bit over the yelling and pretending to hear what your friend said while getting grinded on by a smelly, drunk dude-bar scene.  So far, my favorite teacher is Molly and my favorite painting is her pumpkins in a field.

My roommates and I had such a great time at Paint Nite. We bought a voucher online and went the next week. Our Paint Nite was at the Green Briar a decent bar that I had never been to. It was a little cramped but overall we had a blast!

The instructor walked us through the instructions step by step not moving to slowly or to quickly. She gave us ample time to drink and chat with our friends understand we weren't there for an extrme art class.

While I have 0 artistic ability I came home with a pretty decent painting as a reward. After I got home I went back online and bought 3 more vouchers to try out some different pictures!

My friend and I had so much fun with this. I got the voucher online and we went to the Clery's location. The instructor was teaching us to paint a bridge over a river...

...well that was how we started. She encouraged us to paint the landscape but also go off on our own if we chose... and we did.

In the end, we painted, drank beer and just talked all night, def a great thing to do with a close friend or one you have not seen in a while, or even go stag and meet some young faces!

I would go again if asked and highly reccomend Paint Nite to anyone looking for a fun night out.

    Things to know:
All supplies included, even a smock/apron, but if you get too messy you may get paint on your clothes.
    No artistic background required
Once you buy your ticket, no need to print anything out, your name is on a list
Get there an hour early to snag a good seat and drinks to loosen up your artistic side!
    And just have fun!

Lack of artistic ability be damned! Even someone who can hardly use scissors properly in the arena of arts and crafts can somehow make a halfway decent painting with guidance from the folks behind Paint Nite.

The website is easy to understand, the artists/teachers are helpful, and the venue (at least at Channel Cafe) is relaxing.

Sign up for their email list and they'll occasionally send out a coupon for a good chunk off! It's a great time, and a killer date. Grab a drink, grab a brush, and channel your inner Michaelangelo, Leonardo, or other Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

It was awesome! The master artist was really helpful and I had fun. Channel Cafe was hard to find (tell me it's in Fort Point/Waterfront) but this was a great recommendation from Z.Ma. Great thing to do with friends or family. Worth the parking and everything. Provide aprons and materials--good deal for artistes without a studio or Pearl Paint membership.

And my review wasn't comped.  I paid for my drink(s).

I went to Paint Nite at Clery's on a Tuesday night and had a great time. The space was perfect for the event (who knew the basement of Clery's could clean up so beautifully?) and it was a really fun crowd. Our instructor, Shannon, was awesome and literally everyone in the room ended up with a nice final poduct--testament to her teaching skills!

We arrived a few minutes late but the folks from Paint Nite were incredibly accomodating and set us up with our own table so that me and my two fellow 'artists' could sit together. We enjoyed wine, great music, and great attitudes from everyone. Such a fun event! We all said we'd do it again--thanks to Shannon and the Paint Nite crew!

Although I know in my heart that I'm not artistic at all, and hesitated to go to this event, I walked away extremely happy that I did. I had a blast!  As promised, it was a lot of fun.  The artist, Shannon, was very nice, helpful, friendly and gave great instructions.  It was hard to hear her at times, but I think that was just because the crowd was having too much time at times.  Shannon interacted a lot with the group and was nice enough to kindly say "um, do you want some help" when I told her I was giving up on my painting. Surprisingly, she made it look a lot better!

The ability to drink while you paint definitely helps! The bartender walked around and offered drinks in case you were feeling inspired and didn't want to walk away from your painting.  The free drink to post a picture on Facebook was also much appreciated.

My friends and I has so much fun we might even do it again sometime...

I had an amazing time at Paint Nite last night with a few friends. AND-bonus: I came home with pretty decent painting made by yours truly. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The location, Grafton Street, was a tad noisy, but spacious and accommodating.

Honestly, I would go down to 4.5 stars because I feel the event is slightly overpriced, but I had so much fun it is worth the 5 stars and a repeat attendance.

A few friends and I attended "Malbec and Monet" at Grafton Street tonight, and had an absolute blast.  As grad students, my friend had inquired about a student discount, and they were happy to oblige with a 20% discount!  Just a few minutes and a couple sips in - we had already decided it was worth it.

Our master artist, Shannon Pan, was excellent.  She was a super sweet, gave excellent instructions and helpful hints!  We were all happy with our final products, despite minimal painting experience!

Also, huge bonus - free drinks if you upload a picture to Facebook or write a Yelp review.  Such a great way to spend an evening!

Attended my first Paint Nite event last night and I will DEFINITELY be doing it again. Went for a 25th birthday party and had a blast - the direction was simple and I'm beyond surprised at how much I like my painting (hopefully my Mother does as well since she's getting it as a present!).  They're available for private events as well so be sure to reach out and HURRY UP AND PAINT!
