Lousy service, mixed up orders and a roll that was stale a few days ago offset the decor and interest of the place.  Oh yes and then getting told "well we heat the rolls"....  ckinked on the plate

Went in on a Monday, it was admittedly busier then a normal day as there was a large unplanned event happening the next day. Anyway waited 45 minutes before I had to go find a waitress to take a drink order. Tried to order a Filet but was told they were all out so I told them to bring me the largest, best cut of meat they had left, fresh veggies and a baked potato. They brought me a $27 1/3" thick steak that Dennies would have been proud of and fries, cause guess what... they are out of potatoes too.

The place is nice and historic inside,  but I would never go back for anything but the bar. Food and service was a 0.0%!!!

We went here last Saturday evening about 8:30pm. We loved the history and decor of the saloon, but the service was something we have never seen before! And not in a good way! We walked in and sat a table near the bar. There were only a handful of other patrons in the place. The female bartender came over (there was a male and a female bartender) and asked what we would like to drink. I asked her if she had a wine list and she asked red or white. I told her white. She kind of rolled her eyes and started rattling off (very rapidly) a bunch of wines. When I heard one I liked, I stopped her and told her I would choose that one. My husband ordered a beer and asked for a menu. She said sure and turned around and walked off. After she walked away, my husband and I discussed that she seemed kind of irritated by us being there. We figured maybe she was just tired, at the end of a long shift, and maybe it would be better if we moved over and actually sat at the bar. Being the considerate patrons we are, we picked up and moved to the bar right in front of her and told her we would sit there to make it a little easier on her. She seemed to appreciate that and seemed to soften a little- smiled and started small talk with us. We got our drinks and menu and ordered a few things off the food menu.

Over the next hour, we watched as this same bartender did a lot of eye-rolling, sighing, and just rude behavior to every single patron that walked up to the bar. At one point, she had a group of 5 or 6 walk in and sit at a table in the bar area and they apparently asked her for a round of waters, plus a few beers...when she came back over to the bar to pour the drinks she complained to us about having to get them a bunch of "free waters"...she continued to act like that the rest of the time we were there- we watched person after person come up and get rude, short service from her. Our food order came out a bit messed up, but not wanting to deal with the bartender's attitude, we just grinned and beared it instead of asking to get it fixed. LOL  I really felt uncomfortable with what we were watching though, and so as soon as we were done eating we got our check and left.

On a side note, the male bartender wasn't much better. We saw him yell at several busser/servers that came up to the bar- saw him freak out because a large group of people came in and went and sat in the "dining area" of the saloon (he didn't want a bunch of people sitting in "his" dining area, he yelled at a server). And he was rude to my husband when my husband asked him politely if we could get a Diet Coke whenever he had a minute.

We would not return to the Palace purely because of how miserable/unhappy/rude the staff seems to be. Left a very bad taste in our mouths. When you go out to eat and/or drink, you shouldn't have to put up with servers who make it very clear to you that you, as a patron, are inconveniencing/bothering/ irritating them.
