I went to Paprazzi's specifically to hear and see Freek Johnson play on Friday, February 22. For some reason, the band was placed in the front window which made seeing the band virtually impossible for most of the people who came out to see them. I was lucky enough to get there early and get a band side table. I was, however, crowded and bumped into repeatedly and had to literally crawl out of and over my seat and dodge servers and standing patrons to use the restroom. The back portion of the restaurant was, at best, sparsely populated. In the future, I will look for my favorite band at other venues.
The only reason I gave a rating of 2 is the staff is courteous. The management lacks judgement and the food and drinks are overpriced for what they serve.

First time here. I'm a bartender, so I may be attuned to things others aren't. I also ALWAYS tip well, regardless of the quality of my experience. Both bartenders clearly hate their jobs. They looked annoyed when I asked for a drink menu, annoyed when I asked what IPAs they had, annoyed when I asked for ketchup with my fries.  Situation:
Customer: Hey, any ketchup behind the bar? I'll come grab it...
Normal bartender: No, but I'll get you some..sit tight (smile)
What this bartender said: No. (annoyed scowl, left, returned with ketchup, put it in front of me, stormed off before I could get "thank you" out of my mouth).
    Fries were cold.
Ordered a shot and a beer. I said,"My tab is under (my last name)." Bartender says, "Uh..ha..umm...what's on your tab?" Like I'm lying about my last name?? Wow. Nice, there, guy. I switched to the drink special simply because that's less I'd have to tip them. I like the atmosphere and decor, but the service was shit. I'd come back for a good band, but I won't be sitting at the bar. They didn't even offer to wait on me at a bar table. There were about 25-30 people in the joint with 2 bartenders on. You'd think they'd want to make some dough.
Before I left, I asked one of the bartenders for a beer. It was loud and I just pointed at my beer to convey I'd like another of the same. She threw a mini fit, came over and yelled,"WHAT?!" in my face. I said, "Ha...ummmyeeah, I'd like another beer." She rolled her eyes and got me one. No "thank you," no "here ya go," nothing.
    Laaaaaame.

I am giving this 1 star because of our experience. We went with another couple on a Saturday night. Nice decor, great live singer, but smelled like my grandmother's basement.  Food was not worth the cost-not that tasty, service was average also. I would recommend the bar for younger singles-very lively. Also, dining outside during the day might be better.

It was fine.  My mussels were pretty great (and I loved the bread that sopped up the sauce) but my husbands steak was VERY fatty and not cooked to the correct temperature.

The bread was "fine" but tasted either day old or overcooked and we didn't have any plates.

I would come back just because the service was great and the gals worked like a team which was refreshing.  (I did get the giggles listening to them butcher simple food words like herbs and "melody" instead of medley but that is the manager's/chefs problem for not teaching them properly.)

The atmosphere came off as a Hollywoodish TGIF.  A little cliche and tacky but sometimes that is fun.  Please redo the wall between the beverage station and ladies bathroom.  The albums would look more polished if they were all in frames instead of the mishmosh you presented.  (Once again...back to TGIF)

I would like to see some fun non-alcohol beverages on the menu.

When I'm back in Valpo, I probably wouldn't make this my first choice but if my friends suggested it I wouldn't frown.

The food was good with the caveat that the price in the menu is $1-$2 LESS THAN what they actually charge you on the bill in some cases...we pointed out the discrepancy and it took over 20 minutes to get it corrected and while the waitress was great, the manager/owner walked past us several times and never stopped to apologize. When we stopped him on our way out he was annoyed to even talk to us and seemed to think it was our problem not his when we said that even though the food was good his lack of apology made us not want to patronize his establishment....He was rude and arrogant even though my husband was very polite and respectful.  I can understand one item being marked wrong in the POS but when it's more than tht you have to wonder...Shame cause their food was good but they won't be getting our business. If you choose to go there just be sure to pay close attention to your bill!

The food was very good and although service was very friendly it could have been more attentive (clearing dirty plates between courses) and our courses came one on top of the other. A very trendy spot and surprisingly kid friendly (they brought Zoe a bowl of fruit). We will go again.

Good pizza, a fun atmosphere (very contemporary but stylish). Has outdoor seating which is lovely and some good options for draft beers. Would recommend to a friend, but not in a rush to return.

there are so many good restaurants downtown Valpo for you to experiment with this one.  went on Friday night with friends.  both men ordered steak.  Both came our mildly warm.  They did not bring my sauce with it.  I had to ask twice and finally got it when I had one piece left.  We asked for bread 4 times.  finally got it when our meals came out and it was a little stale.  Don't do it.  Nothing special about the food and the service is not good.  For the price, NOT WORTH IT.

I came with two of my friends on a Saturday at about 3pm, and we sat outside. There were about four tables out there. It was a little slow after getting seated. The waitress was a bit inefficient in that the majority of the time she would come out empty-handed, even after we had asked for things, i.e. sugar and to fix my friend's drink. But anyway we ordered lots of food to share amongst ourselves, and we loved every bit of it.
Two of us started off with the lobster bisque and the other ordered a salad (can't remember the name). Both were very good, however the lobster bisque was not very lobster-y. It still had a good taste, but probably should go by a different name or they should put more lobster in it. It was $6, which is kind of expensive for a cup of soup.
Then we ordered fried calamari served with marinara, and it was also good. The appetizers are close in price to the entrees, which I don't entirely understand. For entrees we ordered the Paparazzi Burger and the Margherita Pizza to share. Both were very good. We ordered the burger medium well, and it was so juicy and delicious and was served on a pretzel bun. It didn't come with fries though. The Margherita Pizza had about 8 slices and was on a thin crust. It was so good. There was olive oil, I think, drizzled over it but it was not greasy or soggy whatsoever. Including tip we split the meal, along with 3 non-alcoholic drinks, three ways and each paid $20, which was pretty good to me.
All in all, I would go back here again because there are other things on the menu I was eager to try, i.e. the crab cakes. It was hard to make a decision on what to eat because everything seemed like it would be good. I'm not complaining about prices, I just don't understand why the appetizers would be only a dollar or two cheaper than an actual entree. My only recommendation would be to add more lobster to the lobster bisque. I'll be back!

My second attempt at this restuarant faired much better.  There were 4 of us.  The food was hot to our liking.  I had the chicken Picatta which i thought was delcious.  My husband had the steak which he said was very good.  My friend had the fish special and had no complaints.    My other friend had the pasta special and liked it very much.    I will definintely go back again.   I will say that we had one of the appetizers (i forget the name) but it was almost raw beef.  This is how its made.  Me and my husband both could not leave the toilet the next morning and the entire day.  My husband ate most of it so he was the sick the entire day.  I only had a little and experience a little problems.  LOL   I should have known better than to eat such raw meat.
