I really enjoy this local deli. Â Friendly staff, fast service, good food, free wifi, and typically a free copy of the newspaper floating around. Â They serve hot & cold sandwiches, 2-3 rotating soup choices, sides (fruit, potato salad, etc), desserts (typically 1 or 2 cake choices and cookies), fresh-brewed coffee and both hot and iced tea, Coke foutain and bottled drinks, and breakfast as well. Â Prices are very reasonable. Â
Sandwiches are all good, but not awesomely-great. Â Same goes for the soup. Â
Recently added a bunch of different bread choices to the menu, which was a long-needed item...their standard white and wheat breads are pretty boring. Â They also have daily lunch specials in the form of not-on-the-menu sandwiches that are often more interesting than what's on the menu.
The only thing I wish this place had was more than 4 potato chip choices.
When I'm in Columbus, I always hit up Papa's Deli. Â Either the Third Street "new" deli, or the other one on IN-46 and Chesnut. Â (I think the latter is the better one, but they're pretty much the same.)
If you haven't tried it, check out the Columbus Connection. Â It's a delicious vegetarian wrap - avacado, sprouts, red onion, mayo, and cream cheese in a Spinach wrap. Â Delicious.
Very friendly staff, too.
I had a hearty ham and cheese sandwich on an old-fashioned squishy white roll. Â These cold cuts taste darn good and were piled up very nicely. Â Sandwich construction is sometimes an art. Â Served with low-fat potato chips and cottage cheese for dipping. Â I totally forgot about cottage cheese and how delicious it is and yes, it is good with chips --great idea! Â Also, nice bathroom. Â All that and a drink for $5.90.
