Set in a repurposed house, Parkview Cafe has a down home charm unmatched by other local eateries. Decorated in 1970s grandma chic, it has 11 tables in what must have been the living room of the house. Clean and homey, it is exactly what one would expect in a tiny little rural town like Marine, IL Â Awesome breakfast and lunch. The over medium eggs were perfect, the sausage patty was homemade sausage, not a commercial brand, and the 4 strips of bacon were thick and cooked just right and even the tomatoes were good. The iced tea was brewed and fresh and the waitress, Lois, was a sweetie. It was $3 less than I paid for the same thing at a chain and tastier by far!!! Â It's not what I'd call upscale but it sure fits the bill for the clientele of local farmers and their families. It's unpretentious and achieves what so many other places fail to do--a good home cooked meal at a very reasonable price!
