I've seen a few shows here and enjoy the intimate feel of the theater (I've seen most of the shows from the seating area but was there for a special show that was on stage with the performer's back against the seating area).
The acoustics are great and the space is historic and classy. I'm not a terribly big fan of the area the venue is in, but the parking lot seemed secure and the walk was short to get in.
The Patriots Theater is a very cool venue. Â The lobby and showspace feature beautiful, intricate details. Â Ticket-checking volunteers are friendly. Â Sound quality for the swing band show we went to see was decent (though not great). Bathrooms were clean. Â Parking was free, and the most helpful and friendly (therefore non-stereotypical) state trooper ever was out front to direct traffic. Â As is typical for older theaters, the orchestra seats are very tight.
I'm not sure what other accommodations are featured in the War Memorial building, but it seems like it could make an interesting spot for a wedding or schmancy dinner benefit if they have the open space.
