I've come to pinz multiple times in the past five years. The arcade is decent and the bar is good and I've enjoyed bowling here
However this past Friday, while bowling with three friends we noticed that our lane was causing the balls to veer left about 2/3 down. This probably sounds crazy but we all have different bowling styles and it was very hard not to notice this flaw in the lane.
I told the manager and she made me bowl for her (which I felt was wrong to begin with), and after she saw the ball go left, she tried to give me bowling advice. At this point I pointed out again that I was bowling with three people and we all noticed it. She acted extremely stubborn and offered me a 5 dollar card to make up for the $14 I wasted bowling here.
Went here over a year ago and I am still wishing we had a place like this in my hood. Â Very new space, huge bowling alley arcade, bar, and laser tag. Â We only did the bowling, but had an awesome time. Â We stopped by mid week and it was pretty empty, but that was totally ok with us. Â Bowling was charged by the hour and beers were crazy cheap, like 2 bucks if I remember correctly. Â Were there for a while and think we all only spent like 20 bucks each.
Review Source:I had been here once before and I'm not really a fan of this place. Â The parking lot is a madhouse and you can't always gaurantee that you'll get a lane. Well, we didn't get a lane and we decide to eat at the bar which wasn't great. Â They only got three stars because their bar had a live band I loved.
Review Source:pinz has become a great social gathering in milford and has been very successful in reaching many different markets. there is the arcade and laser tag for kids, bowling for all ages, pool for young people, and a bar and restaurant for the adults. this place is very well known and has a lot to offer.
usually when i go to pinz its for bowling on tuesdays. they have a pretty good deal for that day. unfortunately, any staff member that is over the age of 25 is just a grump. they never want to help you and are always cranky. one time i asked one of the older servers for water and it took her a half hour after a groan when i asked. the younger staff members are great! they are excited and willing to help which is surprising because it is usually the other way around
I only visited the arcade with my daughter and at first was somewhat impressed as it looked larger than what I thought it would be. However that quickly faded when at least a 1/4 of the games were not working or appeared to be out of order.
We played a couple games but started finding that some of the games that looked like they were working, did not actually work (skeeball for one). So we ended up losing at least two dollars on games that were out of order but not marked.
In the end, most games were .75 cents to $1.00 per play which I found a little too expensive considering Chuck E. Cheese has games for .25 cents. In the end, if you plan on using the aracade, the money is better spent elsewhere.
I have been here a couple of times before but it was years ago and I forgot how horrible this place is. Â The food is awful, the service is worse. Â If the bar was set any lower for the quality of the product they sell, you'd be tripping over it. Â The bowling for families might be ok, I've only gone to see a band in the bar area at night. Â Don't waste your time, go ANYWHERE else. Â It takes 10 minutes to get a drink, at a bar that isn't close to being full. The bar staff look like a cast of extras from Zombieland..... Apologies to the cast of Zombieland. Â I'm running out of bad things to say about his place, I wish I sat next door playing Keno, sucking down mai tais and rat ribs.
Now, considering that it is in Milford MA, it is just about on par. Â In fact, the only reason that this place can still keep the lights on is because it's in a podunk, backwoods, dump like Milford.
Good chat fellas
Have brought my son to Pinz a couple of times for bowling and the arcade, and it's been okay, but today's experience was a disappointment.
We went in the morning for the Feb. school vacation special that offered "unlimited" bowling, laser tag and balladium for $12 a person, plus $5 arcade cards. That sounded good, but it's a bit misleading. You get an hour of bowling and IF there is no waiting list, you can extend that time. Not exactly "unlimited."
Not that we wanted to bowl for more than an hour - the lanes were so glitchy! Â Our lane kept getting set up with less than 10 pins, or pins already down. Some pins that fell didn't get recorded. Our young son got so frustrated as he kept losing points he should have gotten. After asking for help a number of times, we got moved to another lane (with extra time, which was appreciated) and still had a couple of glitches. It would seem they have some maintenance problems on their lanes.
The setup of the lanes is also difficult. Each lane has an assigned table, where you can sit and order food. But the even numbered lanes have tables in front; the odd numbered lanes have tables in back. Every time I've ended up in an odd numbered lane here, I've had people from the even lane standing in front of me as I've sat at my table trying to watch my party bowling. Today was no exception. It's an awkward setup where you practically have to elbow your way through the other party to get to your lane when it's your turn.
Today was our first experience with the balladium, and it was pretty disappointing. You have air guns that shoot nerf balls on either side of a room, and you are supposed to hit the other team's target. But most of the guns on our side were not powerful enough to shoot the ball all the way to the target. I'm really glad we didn't pay $4 per person for 5 minutes of that! (It was included in the special.)
The arcade is fine - kind of loud and lacking in fresh air, but that's not surprising. My son likes playing the games and trading in his points for prizes.
I recently had my first experience at PiNZ Entertainment and was extremely disappointed. i went with a group of  about 40 kids and had reservations. It started out fine the staff were welcoming and had lanes reserved for us for an hour. From then on it was horrible. The "waitresses" were no where to be found. Staff tried to order food from the bar and were told they could not take our order, then told us to find a waitress out front. Which never happened so we never got to order food. The PiNZ staff were rude to the children when they asked for water, because we couldn't find a water fountain anywhere in the building which i thought was a little weird. Not only were they rude to the kids but to other customers as well, then bad talked about the customers in front of the children when we were waiting for service, with an adult standing right there hearing the obnoxious comments.
We thought moving on to the arcade section would be better except more than half of the games there were "out of service". When kids finally found games they could play and went to cash in their points the staff behind the  prize area was extremely rude and disrespectful to all the kids waiting to cash in their points. What really bothered me besides the fact that the staff was miserable was that when he checked the points on the card he would toss the card back on the counter to the kids. Considering all of the cards look exactly the same and most kids had their cards on the counter in front of them, he caused them to get them mixed up. All because he couldn't take the two seconds to hand it back to the child. He also argued with a few children when he did not give the cards back to them and then didn't believe the kids when they said he had it. It took an adult who was watching this all to step in and speak up, then he  miraculously remembered that he had their card.
I really wanted to give this place a chance i understand most people don't love their jobs, especially when most of the staff are teenagers working part time. It also was a holiday i will give them that they got busy.Yet they should have been prepared considering it was a holiday. There are certain things i can understand like waiting a little longer to get bowling shoes, or to get a drink. What i don't have patience and understanding for is when staff are just out right rude and disrespectful not only to adults who at least can take it, but to kids who are out just trying to have fun. When i see staff who will make the only person waiting for service at the drink area wait because she has to make herself a drink and check her phone then just  head in the back with no acknowledgment That bothers me. This experience made me not want to ever go back to this place again. Though i am sure it is a lot of fun for an adult with friends while having a drink.
If your from Milford, live in Milford, or travel to Milford you know about PiNZ and how it took over after the skate palace went out of business. Now a bowling alley, PiNZ finally provides what Milford was lacking in entertainment.
PiNZ offers twenty lanes of bowling, laser tag, and a small arcade for your entertainment. Perfect for kids but slightly unattractive for the 21+ crowd. Throw in the Blue Dog bar attached to the place, and suddenly comes appealing for the older crowd.
The Blue Dog offers that typical bar atmosphere with TV's all around the place, a pool table, a fire place with lounge like seating, and live bands a couple of times a week. If your there on a weekend you will usually find most of Milford and the surrounding towns there. That was pretty much my experience while visiting back home.
On Mondays and Thursdays they do cheap bowling and two dollar Miller's. Its a great option if your looking for some entertainment on the cheap. It does not usually get too packed so you can usually just hang and bowl till close.
Overall I gave PiNZ three stars because it is a solid pick for some entertainment in Milford. I was only in town for a week so I cannot say too much about the place but I think if I was back in town I would be heading here. I will probably head back if I am up there again.
from the website:
"With 20 lanes to choose from, there's always fun to be found. Open bowling is offered throughout the day, so you're free to walk in anytime.."
this isn't entirely true, upon arriving we were told we could only play one game because the lanes were sold out the rest of the day to private parties. So my first suggestion is call before you go, because I saw many families walking out pretty unhappy.
Outside of that, its a cool little place, all glow bowling and the arcade is pretty cool. The staff, outside of the guy at the bowling counter was very nice. They have a good food selection for a bowling alley and a bar.
I will be back but not without calling ahead
Have been here several times with kids (even had a fun birthday party here one year for my oldest). Â The place is dated, but clean, and has plenty of video games for the kids to play if they decide that it is time to hang up their bowling shoes for the day. Â Bumper bowl is available for the wee ones which was convenient when we brought a 4 year old who would otherwise have been in tears watching gutterball after gutterball while the older kids were actually hitting pins. Â It is fun for the whole family and reasonably priced to boot. Â Definitely would recommend to friends...if they haven't already been there. ;-)
Review Source:Whatever you do, NEVER give them your credit card. Â They'll claim their computers are down, then charge you twice and then never correct it despite numerous phone calls. Â The food is mediocre at best and not worth the money. Â Especially when they pretend their computers are down so you'll stay longer and but more food or drinks. Â And don't even get me started about the poorly trained waitstaff and kids managing the bowling desk. Â You can't even reserve a lane ahead of time. Â WHAT A JOKE.
Review Source:Pros: Nice Facility, fun music, good bowling, large game room, good weeknight specials.
Cons: Poorly managed!!
We came here on a Thursday night when it's $5 for unlimited bowling. It was school vacation week so we knew it would be packed...and it was. This wouldn't have been such a big deal if they managed things properly. When we arrived, we were told to wait in line to get a pager because they were out of them. After about 15 minutes we received a pager and they added our name to the list. We had a seat on one of their comfy leather couches and people-watched for a while. After about 45 minutes, we noticed that a group of kids who had come in after us, got their lane before us....thought it was a fluke and kept waiting. 5 minutes later ANOTHER group of kids who came in after us got their lane. The husband went to the desk to find out what the deal was and turns out they weren't going in order of the list. They were just giving the lanes to whoever came up to ask how much longer it would be...wow. So we were immediately pushed to the head of the list to compensate for us catching them and were given free shoes. I felt bad for another group who was before us and ended up bowling AFTER us. Unbelievable.
Once all of those shenanigans were over we had a great time bowling. Moral of the story: if you come here on a busy night, hang close to the front desk to make sure you don't get skipped!
Don't come here for food or beer. Â Sunday Nights it's a dollar to bowl.
This place is the perfect example of what happens when locals don't care for quality. I'd rather go to the McDonald's down the street than eat their chow. Also, it tastes like they haven't cleaned out their taps since the place opened. Even if that wasn't true their beers aren't cycled, except for the Coors or Budweiser or whichever crap giant beer company they sell. That seems to be the only beer that gets moved, like any other small town bar.
If you're here it should be for the bowling or the casual game on their multiple TV's and two projectors. The lanes are under black lights, which is cool for an inexpensive night out.
The facilty itself is nice, the bowling lanes are modern and the big screen tvs make it a inviting place to hang out and bowl. The bad thing about the place is the evening crowd. Young, border line legal drinkers hanging out at the bar with questionable manager oversight. Problems
with drunken fights in parking lot from the Royal Buddha next door.
If you plan to visit then do it early afternoons before the knuckleheads show up.
alright so some background info:
planned an event for 10 or so odd people.
called ahead to make sure i could get at least a lane or two. they told me that they were really busy this day and told me to call day of to confirm.
soo called on the day and they told me that its recommended i show up and hour in advanced to "reserve" or put my name down for lane assignments. came early and low and behold....out of like 15 odd lanes half of em are empty...nice.
so apart from the lie that they told me as well as the snippy attitude the place is mediocre. its new and therefore a bit cleaner but very cluttered and crowded as the separation between lanes are minimal.
simply it is just meh nothing special nothing really crappy. if your going for bowling id go to AMF 10-15 away. if you want to go to a chuck e cheese type place with 5 year olds come here.
Mr Bethany had a function here for a local group that he is a member of. We were given the back room ( King Pin?) to ourselves. It housed 4 bowling lanes, a pool table, and enough comfy seats for 20 people. The server, Tiffany, was a doll, until we found out that she quit half way through our party. Her replacement, Michelle, was good too, thankfully.
The food was standard for steam table offerings. The best part was the chicken & bacon quesadilla appetizers and the salsa. That salsa was fresh, flavorful, and we were amazed that it came from a bowling alley. The entree offerings consisted of a plated salad, over steamed veggies, ziti, Â & meatballs in red sauce. Not bad -- props for cooking the ziti to al dente and not mush. The (had to be frozen) Â meatballs were sodium bombs though -- might want to change the brand, IMO.
This place was great for what it was. A couple of drinks, a couple of frames & it was not a bad night!
4.5 stars
I've hosted two school-related events at PiNZ and received great service both times. The billing & lane-booking process was smooth. Â Renting shoes was quick and easy for our group of 15+. Â Any errors with the score screen was fixed within a minute (-.5 star for the need to walk to front desk if you have to add/subtract players). The catered food was delicious and ready well in advance for us. Â Btw, they probably have the best, if not second best, salsa I've EVER tasted! Â
Not just the service is great, but the venue itself is amazing! Â Graphics/animation of the scoreboard are appealing. Â There's a variety of ball weights & colors. Â Very spacious seating area. Â The lanes are well-buffed. Â Is it me, or do the lanes seem really long?
I've also sat at the bar once, which is pretty chill to sit, drink, and talk amongst friends. Â I, too, noticed that the bald bartender wasn't exactly the friendliest guy, but oh well. Â Laser tag was fun while it lasted.
I appreciate all the PiNZ e-mail offers and deals, but it is too far from where I live now. Â Since I'm no longer in school/coordinator, I'll definitely recommend them to host their annual bowling event at PiNZ.
The best part about Pinz.. drink booze and play video/arcade games at the same time. They also have plenty of seating, great bowling lanes, decent food, and live music.
The only reason why I didn't give Pinz 5 stars is because of one bartender that works there. He looks to be in his late 30's early 40's.. short, bald.. and the biggest A-hole bartender I have ever come in contact with. The staff at Pinz are all great, besides this jerk. He acts like it's the end of the world if you order a drink from him. He doesn't ask what you want, but stares at you until you feel too uncomfortable to order anything.... and if you do order something, don't even think about getting more then one drink. He makes crappy drinks, and basically throws them at you. Every person I have known that goes to Pinz says the same thing about this guy.
Pinz: Â The Next Generation of Bowling Experience
Here's what you need to know first:
Pay by the hour, not by the game... it's something like $22 for one hour versus $40-something for two games. Â Two games takes right around an hour... Â obviously a much better deal.
Also, you can't have pitchers at the lanes. Â Inconvenient, yes, and good to know from the start.
The waitresses wear tight referee shirts. Â And they really could show some cleave... i'm gay... but i'd still hope they'd work it a little more.
Pinz is an entertainment complex... bowling, bar, restaurant, arcade, VIP rooms... hookers (yes, I'm pretty sure I actually saw hookers in the parking lot... welcome to Milford.)
A great time... VERY clean and appears to be brand new. Â Definately something fun to do in the middle of nowhere.
This place is pretty much "meh"... I can't comment on the bowling as we were there to watch a band and have a few drinks... It really took forever to get drinks, so we all ordered 3-4 at a time... Love me a lukewarm Bud Light... yummy...
Another very strange tidbit of info... PiNZ does not have a full liquor license. Just beer, wine and cordials?!?!?!? I paid for this BIG time on Sunday with the worst hangover/possible alcohol poisoning of my LIFE. I did quite a few Washington Apple and Kamikaze shots... but I wonder what the hell was in them if they don't serve liquor? I should have known better when 2 shots and a New Castle draft was $7.00.
Weird. I recommend you stick to beer. Otherwise you will pay dearly the next day!
And BTW... I miss the old Skate Palace terribly. PiNZ pretty much looks the same inside, the lanes are located where the rink was, and there is an arcade where you used to pick up your skates. Ahhh... the memories...
