I love this place. Â In a town loaded with fancy pants crap for tourists and all kinds of outside money, Orio's Roadhouse is an oasis of regular, local fun. Â With 3 pool tables, a tornado foosball table, good local beers on tap and a juke box loaded with good music, this is a great place to find a nice collection of locals, students and bikers out having a drink on pretty much any night of the week in the summer.
Bonus points for the owners fighting the good fight for smokers rights! I don't smoke, but think bar owners should have the right to decide whether to allow smoking or not. The owners, Heidi and Rob Orio, went to Denver and fought to get the smoking ban exemption afforded to "cigar bars" and won ( http://cbs4denver.com/po… ). A lot of politicians were upset that their "cigar bar" expemption could be used by places other than the big money casinos they intended to protect with the expemption. Good for the Orios, and good for Durango!
