I'm so happy that this place opened up a few blocks from where we live. Â We've eaten in I think 3 or 4 times and have had takeout twice, always really happy with the results. Â We've tried a bunch of pizzas, and while always tasty with fresh ingredients and a great, thin crust, if there's a special pizza that day that sounds good to you - go for it. Â We've had the special pizzas on three separate occasions, including a brunch-themed pizza with eggs and bacon, and a Mediterranean-type pizza with feta, olives, eggplant, and all sorts of good things, and they're always fantastic.
Their stuffed banana pepper appetizer is a consistent winner - just the right amount of heat for people who like spice but not too much to be overwhelming or inedible.
Also, side note, their lemonade is really delicious. Â Fun cocktail menu too.
I love that on two of the three occasions I've sat and eaten here, the manager/owner has come by himself to make sure that everything is okay. Â Great way to keep the clients impressed and happy. Â Keep up the good work!
Jalapeno poppers - more like a fritter with jalapeno in it. Steak & cheese and a Hawaiian pizza. Just enough crust to hold and eat. The steak and cheese had too much cheese - in a good way! Â The place was packed on a Tuesday night at 8pm, so I guess I'm not the only one who likes it. Â I saw plenty of other dishes go by, so I've got to return.
Review Source:This is a tough review. Rita V. hit the nail on the head when she wrote that she so badly wanted to like this place... But it just wasn't happening.
I went in around noon on a weekday with my 14 month old who is a pretty happy restaurant goer.
We waited a few moments for  seat and had a lovely waitress. We looked at our menus and I decided on what we would have. Truffle fries to start and a half bacon half buffalo pizza. We placed our order and played at the table. It took quite awhile just to get my drink order - a simple soda I saw filled from 10 feet away took 10 minutes. I never got a refill.
In the mean time 3 tables were filled around me. The last group was seated 15 minutes after me. So we waited. And waited. And watched other tables get their fancy drinks (which looked divine) and people get their starter salads - who arrived after us.
Then the craziest thing happened... The table that had arrived 15 minutes after us was served their pizza. The pizza didn't look any simpler then what I had ordered. No biggie. 35 minutes after I sat down, with now a cranky 14 month old, my truffle fries came. Not what I wanted to feed my son but he was done waiting  this point. Unfortunately, they were oversalted. I am a huge salt fan but I found myself wiping off fries before eating them. I have definitely been spoiled by a plethora of truffle fries while dining in Boston and sadly, these were the worst. They came with a feta cheese looking dip that tasted like plain sour cream. I watched the table next to me grab their last 2 slices and finish off their pizza by the time our arrived. Still no drink refill and my soda had been empty for 20 minutes.
The pizza came 45 minutes after we were seated and I kindly asked our server if she could box it up as my son wasn't going to last long. I grabbed two slices, apologized, and thanked her for understanding. She was great but didn't mention the long wait. she had been over at our table a few times to say our food would be out shortly so I suspected she knew we had waited awhile but I can't be sure. The pizza was pretty good!
We paid and left. My son a cranky mess (not their fault) and me starving for more food.
In the entire time there, our ever was always gracious and with a smile. It was a little apparent she was doing a lot of running around and the place was only half full. She was really nice and I didn't leave angry or upset. Mostly just disappointed. Customer service can only take you so far. The wait and disorganized manner of which I, and the people around me, were served needs improvement. As I said, I have such high hopes for this place and I will definitely be going again and following up with a (hopefully) better review. First impressions are really important and I know this startup is young but there are only so many times people will sit through bad service before they give up. I hope they get organized and be as great as I know they can be!
On a side note, Big Love ordered to go from them when they first opened and he said they had the best wings he's had since leaving Connecticut for Boston 11 years ago (where he had worked in and managed pizza restaurants from 16-20 yrs old). Â This guy loves his wings.
They have some good stuff going for them. I'm crossing my fingers :)
