We visited during Mother's Day wknd. I had the chicken fried steak and the breading fell completely off the steak. My husband had the unedible ribs. We loved the outside perfect for kids to run and play! Atmosphere is great, but service and food, no thank you! We won't go back to eat.

    Food is a 1 star
Don't get the blackend fish - greasy and then a 1/2 stick of cold butter.   Brussell sprouts are served as a cold salad with tons of a mayo dressing.
Chefs, please have restraint.   When you drown the fish and veggies in oily stuff it doesn't help.

My son's well done burger was medium at best and had to send it back.
He's a big eater and didn't finish his meal - had to fix him something good when we got home.

    French Fries were good.

2 stars for setting and atmosphere.

Negatives are food and other peoples kids running and screaming everywhere.

Great place for a beer & some music but don't expect much from the menu.

The food was really good but the portions small. 3 shrimp and 1/2 cup of grits for $10????  The service was very friendly but haven't been trained well.   Empty glasses, dirty dishes just sat there even when a new drink was brought.

    **Review based on weekend only**

First the "not so great"; My latest visit, very busy Sat evening, alone and ordered a single "to-go" order at the bar while having a cocktail.   A female emerged from the kitchen and scolded the nice female bartender regarding allowing me to order my food "to go" and something about being short on to-go containers.   Would it be any different if I sat at the bar, took two bites of my food, and then asked for a to-go box?  Why would any customer(s) at the bar get less than the full service provided at a dining table?  This is yet to be determined...Stay tuned.

Reservations:  First visit I called ahead and specifically asked about the picnic tables outside near playground and was told first come first serve.  Get there and told they are all reserved weeks ago. Really? I just called 2 days ago.  Talk to manager, oh yes they can be reserved for a $500 minimum deposit. Huh?  Bottom Line, your reservation system or lack thereof is irritating. It's one thing when the Spazmatics are playing, another when it's another band, another on a different night of the week.  It sucks period.  One answer by phone and another when you get there is not good business.

The "pretty good";  Well lit area outside. Great spot for families and singles. Weekends can be extremely busy with the live music and Reunion provides outside food for purchase, that changes periodically, such as hot dogs, various taco's, and chicken, ribs, and usually is limited to about 3 options on average $5.   Playground area for the kiddo's is a huge plus if you have them.  Outdoor picnic tables can be reserved ahead requiring a deposit and minimum purchase.   Dinner tables outside? Better reserve early.  You can bring your own lawn chairs and blankets. Outdoor and indoor restrooms to use.

The "sketchy"; I ordered a drink inside that was A-Ok.  Ordered the same drink at outside bar and it tasted like watered down liquor.  Will investigate further and update at a later time.

What do I know?  I'm just a customer right? I think Reunion could improve the outdoor (live music) experience by:
    1) Having more well placed/visible receptacles for trash, staff collecting empty bottles, cans, and pint glasses, during the venue (lots of glass outside people)
    2) Allowing the inside bar to provide Solo and/or Styrofoam cups to people who ask for them rather than forcing them outside with the glass to fend for themselves.
    3) Better price the outdoor food to encourage sales and alleviate stress on kitchen and stick to quality items easy to eat while standing. (no taco's)
    4) A cohesive reservation system without the guessing games.

Seriously what has happened here? Where is Chef Alejandro? Why did you take food off the happy hour? Why was the bartender (I also think he might be a bar manager) so rude last night? Why are some of my favorite dishes off the menu and replaced with bland menu items?

Reunion Grille has a new chef and with that change there is no longer food items on the happy hour menu. They removed some of our favorite dishes and replaced them with burgers and tacos. A month or so ago I tried the new shrimp tacos that come on wheat tortillas. The tacos had shrimp, tortillas and cheddar cheese. Now maybe I just have had to much fusion lately but how about replacing the cheddar with queso fresco and perhaps add avocado and cilantro. The chef was eating the same dish at the bar and asked what I thought. I did mention changing the cheese and he responded that the cheddar enhances the flavor. OK.

My most recent visit was to grab a drink at the outside bar and listen to live music. The band was great and definitely worth stopping in for. But when I ordered a glass of wine and took a sip I found it was turned. This is a wine I have had often so I know what it is suppose to taste like and I know by the taste of wine if it is turned. I let the bartender know and his response "What are you a sommelier?".  Not sure if he was just joking or being rude I replied "Excuse me?". With a smirk he repeats himself. In the end he went inside and got me a glass from the bar. For our second round we bypassed him all together and ordered at the bar inside the restaurant.

I like the outdoor amphitheater and the atmosphere outside at Reunion so I really hope they can get their employees in check and get some better food offerings.

Enjoy going to the reunion grille for a relaxed happy hour or dinner outside. Good live music, good food. Fun for adults and kids. So glad to have a place like this in Cedar Park!

We finally decided to check this place out. My husband was not excited due to mixed reviews online. Portions were a little small, food was a-ok, service was a bit slow (although there was not a wait for a table). This was at 5pm on a Sunday. There was never any bread brought out (that i'm reading about in other reviews) but drinks were kept filled. We did enjoy letting our kids run around and play outside after dinner while we visited with friends.

..I loved the outdoorsyness of it all and would have forgiven the bad food until the sound tech decided to yell at the group of boys that was with us and told them to get the F off the stage. Mgr. apologized and said he would address it at the end of the night....hope no one else ended up with crying kids. Will NOT go back,

Okay, to the credit of the wait staff, we were told that they were short on staff that evening and we did see them hustling the best they could. Nobody had a bad attitude, so I've gotta give it to the staff for doing the best with what they had.

Now...the food...some good, some bad. My wife had the shrimp bacon wrapped. They weren't bad, but we both commented on how they could have been bigger in size or portion. (Only 4 on the plate) For the price, it seems they could maybe make the portion of that plate a little bigger. I tasted them and yes, they were good.

I had the pulled pork sandwich and was actually surprised at the portion. It wasn't small and was quite big actually. The bbq sauce however, did not stick out as much as I'd expected. It wasn't bad, but I always say if you're going to make bbq in TX, it better not be bad bbq. Not bad, but if you've been around the block with TX bbq, you'll know what I mean.

Oh I forgot, we did get the spinach/ artichoke dip for an appetizer. When it arrived we both looked at each other and thought the same thing..."Come on man!?" The bowl size for the dip was pathetic. If you're paying upwards of $9 for the appetizer, the bowl should be a little bigger. However, I can't say that it was bad dip, but disappointed with the size.

I also must say that the plate presentation was impressive too, you could tell there wasn't some 19 year old kid chef in the back kitchen. They cared about how the plate looked, which is good to me.

Overall: Get your wallet out, bring your kids, lots of space (outside), enjoy the Texas evening sun. Don't expect the best, but you won't get the worst either. It's worth a shot.

Been here 3 times now, the atmosphere is what's brought me back, but my visit tonight is probably my last.  Previous 2 visits I made reservations for an outside table and despite 1 hour wait for food both times (and apps never arriving during the first visit) we returned because the food was ok and it was a fun place to sit outside, let the kids run around, and listen to live music.  Called earlier in the week to make a reservation, since experience has shown it gets packed, but I was told they no longer take reservations.  Big fat bummer, but oh well, their prerogative.  Showed up at 5:45 and was excited to see a bunch of empty tables outside.  Excitement quickly dissipated when hostess said it was one hr wait for a table for 8 outside.  I asked her about the empty tables and was told they were reserved.  eh?  I asked about being told earlier in the week that they don't take reservations.  She said only for 10 or more.  Well ok.  Asked about the wait for inside- 1 hour.  Since I was starving I had to think fast, asked about splitting 4 and 4, bingo we could sit right away.  As we walked in I noticed two 8 tops that were empty, I asked if we could sit at one of those tables and was told- oh those are reserved.  To make sure I wasn't miscounting I asked if those were tables of 8 and she said yes.  I asked about the previously stated requirement of parties of 10 or more for reservations and she said, oh those parties must have made special arrangements with the manager.  Bleh, at this point I waved the white flag, sat at my four top and ate my dinner.  The food was ok, it did come out quicker this time.  I don't think I'll go back, I don't mind places that say "no reservations"  i don't like places that say "no reservations...for you, but we'll take them for others".

Well the wife and I decided to travel all the way over to Cedar Park to try the Reunion Grill. Please note as stated by others the Google maps had the location on the wrong side of the toll road. Go east young man not west that's your notice!!!!  (Unless, they fix it then ignore.)

Wow this is a big place, outdoor kiddie playland, outdoor seating, and outdoor music on those nights when they have live music under a lot of nice large Oak trees.  Also at this time there is road construction which sometimes gets in the way but that should be over in about 2 years at the rate these guys move (gov't).

We choose to eat inside due to my Oak allergies I felt like breathing that night. What a concept!!  My wife ordered the hamburger and I ordered the chicken fried steak with sides.  The burger was OK.  My chicken fried steak came out cold as well as the sides, it was OK as well.  Our service was good except I never got any of the bread choices that were to come with the meal.  My water was not refilled until I was ready to leave, my wife noticed they did not have water or tea refilling pitchers for the staff to use to refill them;  they had to bring new glasses out.

Would I go back?  Maybe, but nothing draws be back since it is a long trip from Round Rock to Cedar Park!

We have been to reuntion grill every weekend for the past few weeks. It has been so nice to sit on the patio and let our 1 year old walk around, instead of having to keep him entertained in a high chair.  The service has been better these last few weeks and the food has also gotten better. I love their mashed potatoes. A great place to spend the afternoon.

I wish I could write a glowing review of the food. I wish I could tell you the service was amazing, I wish I could tell you this is a wonderful place to dine with your family or to take a date. I can't do any of those things.....

What I can tell you is that I came to hear a band play. I can tell you that I brought my own chair and quickly found a spot outside to call my own. I can tell you the crowd was upbeat, the place was fun and family friendly. I can tell you, I did run inside the building for all of 5 minuets to purchase a tasty frozen margarita (I enjoyed every drop). I can tell you that I spent 5 bucks at the door and had a great time.I can also tell you that I am thankful that little Cedar Park has a venue like this.

If you are looking for a place to feel like you are in Austin and possibly take your Fiat size stroller. A place where no one will bat an eye that you brought your 5 year old child. A place where you can be outside and enjoy the weather and hear a band play. A place where you don't have to fight for parking.

Let me announce "this is your place".

I promise next time I'll try the food!

I was not very impressed with the food, the baked chicken was dry and lacked flavor or salt, the shrimp and grits were all soaked in bacon fat, but the chips and dip, and the finger food was much better. They have really good fried okra. The sides dishes were better than the main course. The service is great, we were well taken care of, and our server was with us all the way. The atmosphere is at this restaurant is what brings people back, the live music and good lively atmosphere that you won't find any where else in round Rock. But it seems like they have good business on the weekend, I suspect most people come here for the live music, finger food and the drinks. Next time I am going to order some finger food and couple of beers.

A perfect, tender chicken-fried steak is definitely my thing. Then, serve it with yummy little cornbread muffins and you can bet I'll be back!

We stopped by for dinner recently and were pleasantly surprised with this little gem in Cedar Park/Leander area. Both of us enjoye our dinners and were quick to say we wanted to make this a regular spot. Honestly, we haven't found many places in the area that we would be willing to frequent often, so we can say were we happy to find this place.

We had heard good things about this place and decided to try it. The location is neat: expansive grounds with patio and picnic tables, stage for live music, and a small playground for the kids. The food, though, was just so-so. Pretty good (excepting the bone in my wife's casserole) but nothing worth driving across town for. The price tag was  a tad high for the quality of the food (it is on the level of Chili's or Applebee's but costs a good bit more).

I guess maybe if you come when there is a band playing perhaps the price is justified by the entertainment but otherwise we left a little disappointed.

I really don't understand how this place can receive 4 and 5 star reviews.  We've given it 3 chances and the food has never been much more than edible.  We've tried lunch and we've tried dinner.... we've never ordered the same thing twice (other than the fritters). The 3rd (and possibly last) attempt was last night when I went with my wife and a friend.  The service was painfully slow and the food (meatloaf, grilled fish, fried fish) was bland.  A manager asked how things were going and I asked if we could get the cornbread that never arrived with our meal. He said yes and vanished. We never saw him again.

I'm giving it 2 stars. 1 for the zucchini corn fritters which are pretty good, although they have been under-cooked a bit. The 2nd star is for a waiter named Cash (I think). He waited on a group of 5 of us previously and the service was perfect.

We'll probably try the brunch and mark this place off the list if it isn't somewhere between good and excellent.

I have read so many reviews of Reunion Grill with varying opinions.

My First Visit to Reunion Grille I had reserved my expectations on the food due to mixed reviews.  However, having a young child I was very excited to check out the grounds, play-scape, and live music amphitheater.

My wife and I enjoyed the brunch cowboy hash, eggs, pastries, and numerous other Tex-mex breakfast items.  We did have a few items of food off  the brunch buffet that were cold, that needed a lid on them to keep them warm.

My husband and I love it the Reunion Grille.  The atmosphere is great!  There are few places that are good for both family time with our two year old daughter and for a weekend date night.  We have always loved the food and have enjoyed a visit from one of their chefs during brunch and during dinner.  That is a nice personal touch that I really appreciate.  We recently took our family to brunch for the first time.  We were blown away.  The food couldn't have been any more delicious....peach and poblano quesadillas...WOW!  I have recommended this place to every one I know.  Do yourself a favor and if nothing else stop in for brunch, you will be really happy you did!!

This place is mostly frequented by families hoping to grab a bite while still giving kids the option to run around outdoors after or during the meal. Their indoor seating can hold quite a few people. It is a bit loud I would say from just the lack of anything to absorb the sound. Noticeable enough to mention it here. If you sit outside when the weather is nice they provide those torches to keep warm and there are quite a few trees for shade. It has 2 outdoor playscapes behind the outdoor tables and an open grassy area for people to congregate when a band is playing.

They had live music almost every single time I have been there. The space is well designed and I would say that we visit 50% for the layout and flexibility to have the kids running around and 50% for the food.

I think I have always enjoyed the food but hadn't been quite blown away until I went to one of their Sunday brunches. Kids under 5 eat free during the brunch. The offerings wrap around 3 rooms and I believe its around 14$ per person for everything. Definitely a hearty, souther comort foods-type of brunch with things like chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy. They also had the usual french toasts, bueberry pancakes and a couple of texmex casserole offerings. By far, the best item in my opinion is their baked ham, which is caramelized and glazed for a long time, giving it some serious depth of flavor. Try their brunch first!

Good food, good service, and fun, family-friendly environment.  What more could we ask for?  We have 2 small children, so a restaurant with good food and a place where the kids can be kids is a wonderful thing.  And it doesn't take much to keep parents happy in this regard.  I think most families would rather go to a place like Reunion Grille or Waterloo over McDonalds.  So the open space, playscape and hula hoops scattered around the outdoor space had us loving it before we step inside to see the menu.

I had the bacon-wrapped shrimp and grits, which was really, really good.  And my dinner was served with breaded okra and a spicy and creamy dipping sauce.  It was really, really tasty.  I ordered a mojito from the bar, and it was good, not great, but I would order it again, or try something different.

We were there on a Friday evening, so in addition to the playscape outside, they had a balloon artist out there making some really amazing balloon creations.  This guy was really good, and made these huge balloon flamingos, flowers, bunny rabbits and lizards for all the kids.

Just as we were leaving, there was a band setting up outside.  We had to get home, but will definitely look for a reason to go back again another night to enjoy some live music in the cool evening.

    "eh... it's ok, I guess."

    Sums this place up.

Not horrible. Not spectacular. Not nasty food. Not great, either.

People I know rave about Reunion Grille, but I don't get it. Perhaps, these folks are going on the atmosphere during happy hour outside, or during a live music show?

My wife and I went here for lunch today and honestly, we weren't wowed.

The food was ok, for the lunch menu price. I would not have been happy if we paid the full price for it, considering it'd be another $3 or $4 more per entree at full price. My CFS needed the salt and Tabasco I put on it. The jalapeno cheese biscuits were tough and bland... with jalapenos in it. Figure that one out. The apple cole slaw was also bland. My wife's pulled pork sammy was sloppy and soaked the bread before it even arrived at the table. Couldn't even pick it up to eat it with her hands. Her plank fries were mushy, and not crispy on the outside.

I get what they're trying to do outside. I even like it. The inside, though... that's where they need the work. It's way too loud in there for how many people were there (almost no one). I can't imagine how loud it would be on a packed night.

The 'decor' is lacking. It's kind of "eh". They've been open how long, and the walls are dirty in many spots, especially near the doors? Do they not clean them?

Like I said, the food is just about "ok", and I'm sure being outside for a show is probably cool - so we may go back for one, but I won't go out of my way to go back and eat there for lunch or dinner.

I went here to see the Spazmatics on Friday night. I've seen the Spazmatics dozens of times at Cedar St or other venues, but this was unlike any other experience. There were hundreds of people, no surprise, but half of them were kids. They had to completely change all the jokes...

The large outdoor venue was great for the show. We didn't eat. My one complaint, which is a big one, is about the bar. There was one bartender on duty at the only outdoor bar which served drinks other than beer. This was also the only place to order food outside... Those poor kids who wanted a snack had to wait 45 minutes just to order. It was an easy night to decide not to drink. The owners were brilliant in building a kid-friendly nice restaurant in this area, and even more so in getting the Spazmatics to play, so it's shocking that they could completely blow it so badly in this area. I mean, it's hard to imagine how they could go all night without correcting this obvious problem.

Anyhow, it is an awfully nice place to listen to music, provided you don't have a problem with endless kids running around. If you don't drink beer, be sure to bring a flask, though!

    Great Place!
Austin cool meets Wilco suburbs.  Trees, lawn, playground, live music, large outdoor seating area.  Really cool.
Food is a little pricy, menu choices are solid, food quality needs some improvement but is not bad.... just not really good.
Great place to meet up with other suburban families and let the kids run around while you catch up.
New place and worth checking out.
    Will be back soon!

My new favorite place in Cedar Park!  It has upscale comfort food.  And for a large lunch plate with drink and tip for only $9.99, with food that tastes awesome, you can't beat it!

My friend and I split the shrimp and grits and the meatloaf with whiskey BBQ sauce (it had both beef and sausage in it).  We had fried okra & the green bean casserole as sides (we added the green bean, because the grits counted as a side... I really think that should be part of the meal and you should have the choice of another side, my only complaint).  The food was amazing!  For dessert we got the pecan pie, it was good, tasted like my Mom's.  I found a buy one get one free lunch coupon, think hubby and I will go for lunch tomorrow!

This will also be a nice place to go in the fall, they have a big outdoor area and live bands.

I was pretty excited to try this place out with the in-laws, but unfortunately our experience was, save for the company, horridly unpleasant.

The portions are tiny, especially for the price, the atmosphere is rowdy, noisy, and consists primarily of shoddy cover-bands and screaming children (and we sat INSIDE), and the service was un-attentive and slow.

I can appreciate home-cooking as much as the next person, but the price has to be right (even if I'm not paying) and it still has to be done well. The chicken fried steak was flavorless, the "caviar" was an itty-bitty serving of watery muck, and I didn't even get a chance to try the fried okra fingers because the server never brought me the ketchup I requested before I had lost my appetite.

Maybe it's a good place to take kiddos so they can run around in the yard outside, but this is going to be one of the places I will *avoid*. It's pretty much a "fancied up" family restaurant. Not my thing.

Three stars (2 for food & bevs, 3 for service, 5 for venue, bonus for being home grown), but we'll be back. Why?  Well, that 5 for venue would be more like a 10 if I were allowed that many stars. Let me explain....

First off, don't be fooled by the Yelp map!  Reunion Grille (RG) is on the northwest side of 183A (the toll road, not the old 183), just past the CP Medical Center. The regular Google map linked from the RG website is correct.

The outdoor space at RG is simply wonderful if you are dining with kids in tow. There is a huge grassy area in front of a stage for live music, 2 different playscapes, shade trees galore, a walk-up bar, porch swings, and a giant fountain where you can toss in a coin for a wish or two. I have a small child and he had a ball here playing with all of the other 30 or so other children on site, kind of like going for a picnic in the park.  The converse is that if you *don't* have kids (or just don't want to be in their presence on this dining occasion), you may want to steer clear of RG until after the prime family dining hours.

From reading other reviews and reports from friends, it sounds like RG can get packed and build up a long wait. However, if you have small kids, you are probably eating supper around 5pm (like we did on a Saturday evening), and there was no wait for us at that time. We walked right in and were seated in our first choice of patio table, then promptly greeted by our server to take our drink order.

Like several other Yelpers, we've found the food and cocktails to be inconsistent. The things that were good (fried okra pod halves and shrimp & tomato chowder ala NOLA maque choux) were *really* great, but the things that were bad (untenderized chicken-fried steak, tough to the point of inedible; way undercooked bacon-wrapped shrimp (ugh, flabby bacon covering raw shrimp, doused in sauce to hide the crime); St. Germaine cocktail as cloyingly sweet as a frozen rita) were unforgivable, and odd given the many other reviews praising these same items.  This new kitchen/bar just has to get its act together; there's no excuse to poorly execute the featured items on the menu, especially at these upscale prices.  Until they do, I'll be sticking to basics like beer, burgers, meatloaf (served as giant meatballs), soups, and salads.

Still, we are overjoyed to have a cool new kid-friendly option on the north side of town with an excellent patio area and an enjoyable space for having a drink with friends while our young'uns play and we can all hear live music together.  We'll be back often, RG, and we trust you'll only get better with age.

Tip: Daily happy hour with drink discounts from 3-7p. Nice!

First time tonight, probably won't be a second. The power and A/C were out, meaning that there wasn't a whole lot coming out of the kitchen. Maybe that was the reason my group got such a small bowl of the "Texas Caviar", which was fairly disgusting. Then came the baby back ribs, all four of them. At $9.99 for the plate, that translates to just a bit under $2.50 a rib, or approximately $1M for the whole pig!

We left when we started sweating, and took our dinner business to a real restaurant. Good luck to the owners trying to sell a Central Austin dining experience in Cedar Park. First, you have to actually be able to achieve a Central Austin experience, and if tonight is proof, you have a ways to go. Second, you are in Cedar Park. Families live here. Families that will not pay $2.50 a rib. Get it?

Edited to reply to Owner Comments:

I'm sorry I mentioned the power being out, as that led you to use that as the excuse for the sub par service. My comments on the food we were served would not have changed, had the power been on. The Texas Caviar was disgusting, and 4 tiny ribs for $10 is ridiculous. You should spend less time answering the many bad reviews here on Yelp, and use that time instead making improvements. Head on over to Cover 2 to ask the management there for tips on opening a new restaurant and hitting the ground running.

We've been a few times so I feel like I can give an honest review.  I really want this place to make it because Cedar Park really needs a family fun place like this.

First off, the atmosphere is awesome....outside.  The interior seems cold but we have been seated in the kid section.  Apparently, they seat families on one side, and adults on the other side.  We prefer to sit outside and it's great for kids to be able to play and roam.

The food is a hit or miss.  They are still fairly new.  The first time we visited kids meal was way too small, and they have since taken that into consideration.  The shrimp and grits was good, but the grits were cold.  I'll try again though.  The pork pulled sandwich was very good, but ask for extra sauce.

The service is like others have mentioned.  It seems like there is alot of people standing around watching you.  The uniforms the female servers wear are slightly inappropriate.  Many of them wear very short denim shorts, and let's just say they shouldn't be wearing shorts that short.

All in all, we'll return again.  We realize as a new restaurant they have some kinks to work out.

LOVE that we have a non-chain restaurant in Cedar Park.  I may not need to go downtown for dinner again!

The atmosphere is amazing.  A great outdoor area with playground and seating galore.  There is an outdoor stage and bar as well for entertainment.  Great layout for the outdoor venue!  Again, something missing in Cedar Park...a nice place for live music!

The service was fantastic.  Our waitress was young and obviously fairly new to waiting, but was very attentive.  The food was delivered super fast and the dirty dishes were removed with just as much speed.

The drink menu looked amazing and the wine list was extensive...especially for a restaurant located in Williamson County.  The food menu was equally impressive.  Great pricing and selection.

We ordered the fried green tomatoes app which I really enjoyed.  The batter was nice and light.  We also split the spinach salad which was so fresh I wanted to see if they were growing the spinach out back.  I had the shrimp and grits and wanted to lick the plate when I was done.  The grits were the BEST I've ever had.  I also enjoyed the fried okra fingers.  My husband had the King ranch casserole and raved about it.  His meal came with apple cole slaw which was amazing as well (and neither of us truly like cole slaw).  The portion sizes were perfect, especially for the quality of the food.

The only complaint I had about the entire experience is that when our app came out and when our salad that we were splitting came out we needed small appetizer plates.  Looking around the restaurant it didn't appear anyone had them.

We will be back soon and often...can't wait to try some of their other selections!

Like another review, the food is hit or miss. But, they did just open. But, they have other restaurants which creates an expectation they know what they're doing with food.

Let me start with the positive. Huge outdoor area with two play gyms for kids, outdoor bathrooms, large open grass area, concerts, families with kids seated away from parties without kids. No other venue in the area offers this.

Mac n cheese on the kids menu is not mac n cheese. It's penne with parmesan and bacon crumbles. Kids baked chicken is very tender and delicious though the first time I visited I asked for dark meat and the waitress said we couldn't pick. This isn't good because my kids won't eat white meat typically.

I ordered shrimp and grits. The shrimp were impressively large and wrapped in bacon. Yum! The fried okra fingers were sooo delicious and I don't like okra. The grits were unrecognizable. Not gritty at all. They were nearly as smooth as mashed potatoes and didn't taste good. I love grits so this was disappointing.

Management and waitstaff are very attentive and concerned.

Cedar Park needs a place like Reunion Grille. Both you and your kids will enjoy this place. The outdoor space is awesome, especially for families. There are two large playscapes surrounded by mature trees, an open green area, and live music on the weekends. There is a casual outdoor bar to get drinks while you are waiting for a table or just hanging out.

The food is hit or miss. It's southern comfort with a twist. My chicken- fried steak was delicious--lightly fried and well-seasoned. My husband's shrimp and grits were too salty, but the fried okra was great! The crunchy batter was a great contrast with the soft okra. The peach cobbler dessert was light and tasted like home-made cobbler. Portions are not huge, like what you expect from a Southern comfort place, but everything was high quality. Once they work out the kinks and refine the menu, this place will be a treasure!

It's rare that I can shoo my kids off to play with others while I'm sitting back enjoying a cold, fermented beverage and listening to live country music. Life is good.

I'm giving four stars because I need Reunion Grille to succeed so much--I don't have many choices when it comes to non-chain restaurants in Cedar Park and the Reunion Grille has all the makings of a very successful restaurant/bar/patio area. I stopped on my home from work on a whim, after reading about this new restaurant in Community Impact--I did notice what a lot of other yelpers have said: too many workers walking around with seemingly nothing to do. However, they are new and from the looks of them, most of the servers are working their first job ever so I'm willing to overlook the lack of experience.

I sat at the bar and was quickly attended to; I had a flight of sparkling wines ($9) and then what has my favorite drink in a while: the Razz Fizz, a concoction so simple--raspberry vodka, champagne and freshly squeezed lemon juice-- and yet so addictive.

The drinks: The happy hour isn't well advertised (also something they could improve on--maybe the marketing materials haven't been printed yet?) but from what I gathered from the bar staff, it's from 3-7 M-F and $3 beer on tap, $5 specialty drinks (such as the Razz Fizz). I wish they had some cheaper eats as well, although the menu was surprisingly affordable.

The food: I ordered the shrimp, corn, and tomato chowder (very good, but it didn't need the lemon slice on top) and the spinach/strawberry/pecan salad (the combo of the suggested dressing, a pecan-dijon vinaigrette, and the goat cheese made it a little too tart for me. I would suggest adding sugar to the dressing or using a balsamic vinegar-based dressing, similar to what La Madeline does (still my favorite spinach salad) to sweeten it up a bit. A little bacon (or a lot) would be nice too. I also wanted some bread, which the bartender brought, but it was not that good--tasted almost a day old and kind of dry. But I needed something to soak up the tasty beverages before hitting the road--did I mention I live just a few miles from here (that's a HUGE deal for me).

The patio: The outdoor area is huge with patio seating and a large play area for kids. I actually had some trouble figuring out where the entrance was when I first arrived. I'll be back (probably today as a matter of fact) for the live music I've been told about...also, this would be a great place for, yep, REUNIONS (hint, hint, my fellow Mavericks who now live in the Austin area)...

If you look at my reviews, they are mostly 4 and 5 star. I am an easy grader, but the food was not good. The first time we ever have complained to a waitress about a meal. The pulled pork my dining companion had was mostly fat. We pointed that out and she talked to the manager who wanted to see it. To their credit they took the pulled pork entree off the bill.
I had the baked marinated chicken. It sounded good, but the marinate only  penetrated the skin. The meat underneath was just plan old chicken. HEB has better marinated chicken. It was like they didn't let it soak in the marinate but just brushed it on. I love okra and the idea of okra fingers sounded good, but they were 3/4 breading and 1/4 okra.
The place is beautiful and watching a band there would great, just plan to drink and not eat while enjoying the music.

I was skeptical of what I was going to get.  While I knew the chef, Alex Duran, was creative and successful with Malaga and other menu's.  I figured this was going to be a dumbed down suburban deal.  I was surprised at how good the food was.

Put aside the food for a minute and lets talk atmosphere and service.  The dining area is nice and open.  The outdoor play area for the kids is really nice and the kids seemed entertained.   For the parents, it was ideal.  The servers were friendly but a little slow.  They get a pass from me since it is a new place and it takes a few weeks at least to get efficient.

OK, on to the food.  I got a puled pork pork sandwich, fries, and fried okra.  The pulled pork was excellent.  It was seasoned well, cooked until it fell apart, and there was a nice apple based slaw on top.  The bun was griddle toasted and it all went together well.  The fries were good, properly cooked and served hot.  The okra was outstanding.  It seemed like fresh (not previously frozen) okra that was batter dipped in a tempura like batter instead of the usual breadcrumbs.  I rarely see anything other than frozen, pre-prepared stuff so this was really a nice change.

I want to love this place, and I am going to give it a few more tries in hopes that the shortcomings are just from the opening week.

Let me start by saying the food was very good. It's the front of the house that needs to work out a few kinks. Tons of employees walking around not doing much, at one point there were 7 employees standing around the hostess table outside. Once we were finally seated, the inside is very noisy. Maybe there needs to be stuff on the walls or something but it felt like we were in a garage or something. The service still has to work out some kinks (wrong food being brought to the table, drinks not getting to us, then when we asked about two end up coming out, slow on the drink refills, etc).

I was somewhat disappointed by the selection of the dinner items. It was fairly limited. I hope it is one of two things, either it's just the beginning of the menu and new things will be added eventually, or it is a ever changing menu where the chef is always adding and changing things (I hope this is the reason).

The outside venue looks great! Can't wait for this place to iron out the kinks. I will update my review once we have experienced a more polished visit.
