Been here twice...loved it both times! If you like beer, you will love this place! I don't understand how people can say that $8 to $12 is expensive in Modesto for a burger? Have they been to IHop or Denny's lately? Come on, this place has great prices :)

I wasn't impressed with the food we had. My dinner companion had the Philly cheese steak sandwich. The meat was dry and tasteless. Not the best  best presentation. The wine was over priced and they served a 4 oz decanter of wine with a 16 oz glass. A pretty skimpy amount for the price we paid. The price for that much we could have bought the entire bottle in any grocery store.  The one positive is the wait staff was very friendly. I doubt that we will be back as we don't go out to just "drink". We will find other place to go for dinner.  I'm sorry I can't be more positive.

OMGoodness! This place is awesome! We had the calamari appetizer & it was so tender & rolled in cornmeal & pan fried with house made chipotle aioli sauce! Yummy. The Chef, Marshall, brought out our lunch. He was very personable & explained our lunch to us. Great Chef & great personality! We shared the fish & chips & it was so tender & delicious. Also rolled in cornmeal & it brought back memories of camping & catching fish & rolling it in corneal & fixing!! We were very much satisfied with our server, Sunshine, too! Glad we arrived a little before lunch as they filled up fast! Nice to have a place close to home! We will be back!!

We try ed Rivets American Grille for the first time. we were very confused in the parking lot as to witch door to try and open to get in. 3 similar doors to choose from all the same color. small wait area, room design not well thought out.  We were greeted promptly and seated quickly.  received 4 menus. while looking over the menus didn't see a children's menu. when a waitress finally came to our table we asked about a children's menu, apparently the hostess forget to give us some. The booth we were seated at cushions are not comfortable. once again poor seating design. Very Pricey Menu for Lunch. Menu is more a Bar Menu than a Grill as the menu was mostly about the huge selection of beer, wine, and alcohol. we were very happy with the food except the overabundance of  the onions on my salad. I know food takes time to make but 1 hour wait for our food not good!  we enjoy going out to lunch on the weekend not sure if we should try again.

Avoid the fish and chips...couldn't tell if the fish was cooked through and the filet's were super thin. However, the cheese steak sandwich was amazing! Get the garlic fries.

Today was our second visit to Rivets... well, actually since we were never seated during the first visit I guess you could really say it was our time eating there.  The first time we went to Rivets for dinner a few days after they first opened.  When we arrived with our party of 7 they told us the wait would be 45 minutes, however after slightly more than an hour we began asking the hostess if we would be seated soon. She told us that they were cleaning and setting up a table for us.  Each time she came outside during the next 45 minutes she gave us the same story. After about 90 minutes of waiting the child that was with us was "Starved" and asked if we could go somewhere else.  It was a good thing because we finally ended up promising her that we would leave if the next time the hostess came out if she didn't seat us.
This afternoon (about 11: am) we were all together again except for the child who was in school. We decided it would be a good time to give them a try again. We were seated promptly, and out drinks came out right away. We did need to get the server's attention to place our order. Everyone in our group had some sort of hamburger (a little pricy for Modesto $8 to $12) with the exception of me who ordered a Cobb salad with light onion, if any at all. The "Cobb" salad came with spinach leaves, shredded chicken and red onions in it. Once I began to mix it up I found the spinach leaves and showed our waitress who asked if I wanted it remade correctly, which I did.  When I finally received my remade salad it was made with some sort of large leafy lettuce (not romaine), a bunch of red onions and Italian salad dressing.  I didn't realize that they would just dump Italian dressing on it so I asked for Blue cheese dressing.  What she brought me back was a tiny cup, maybe an ounce, of Blue cheese dressing.  After all this everyone in our party had finished eating and one person had already left to get back to work. I ended up not eating my salad at all.
I now know that our party will not being going back to Rivets. The food was adequate at best and the prices were way too high for this area.

I have been hearing about a new restaurant near us opening up.Rivets American Grill, everyone has had nothing but Great things to say about this place. Well, we tried it for lunch today.

We walked in and was greeted by a very nice young gal. She let us pick where we would like to sit. Which I liked. We looked around... Really liked the expansive bar and open floor plan of the restaurant . We were then greeted by our server Mekila she was very friendly, knows her menu very well. She was very helpful and made our dining experience that much better.

Mike ordered a Longboard draft and I had a Coors Light . I liked that they have a large Draft Beer selection and very reasonable $4 for mine $5

I ordered a Rivets Burger w/ Garlic Fries. It was cooked perfectly to my liking, and seasoned perfectly! Loved that it had a fried egg on it.

Hubby had the Cajun Penne Pasta. It looked great. He said it was full of flavor and had a bit of a kick!I saw lots of shrimp and sausage in the dish. I took a bite was very pleased!

A wonderful Strawberry Cobbler was a wonderful way to top off our meal.

The portions were so big we had to bring half home... It's gonna be a great second act of a meal!

Hubby wants to come back for his BDay dinner in October.! We will be back

Been to this place a few times now. My first visit, I had a burger which was great. The guy eating at the table next to me ordered a sandwich which also looked good. However, someone forgot to take the paper off the meat in his sandwich. So there was paper in his sandwich.
Today I went in for lunch and ordered a chicken sandwich. It was good, but my second bite had a large piece of bone/cartilage in it (about the size of my pinky finger). The waitress saw me fishing the pieces out of my mouth and asked if everything was okay, and I told her what happened. She explained to me that they do pull off the chicken fresh from the bones. And ... That was it. I was just so grossed out and afraid of biting off more bone/cartilage. I paid $15 for that lunch, at LEAST apologize and comp my drink. I MIGHT give this place another chance, bc there are a few things that look good on the menu. We'll see. .

Had the Apple & Walnut salad, it was ok, my daughter had the Drunkin  Turkey sandwich with garlic fries, the fries really didn't taste like they had garlic on them. Our waitress Madison was very nice.

Fish and chips were HORRIBLE. Very bland. I couldn't finish them and walked out still hungry. Restaurant looks very new and nice. Bar looks like it has a nice selection.

Loved the food. Nice to have a good place to eat on this side of town for once. Wife had the burger and I had the cheese steak. Plenty of food!  Lots of beers on tap and great atmosphere. Love "WE THE PEOPLE". Hostess and waitress were really friendly. I will be returning again. Cant wait to try all the starters!

Garbage. A classier version of Taco Bell if anything. Service was half decent, none of the food tasted good enough for me to come back.

I've visited this new neighborhood grill restaurant twice now for lunch. Both times the place was lively, the service attentive, and the food better than average.

Decor: The decor is sports bar / industrial chic / very casual. There are lots of seats at the bar, comfy booths, and raised tables with stools. There is also many large flat screen tvs which are well placed as to not distract from your dining experience.

Service: Experienced, friendly and attentive. We had no problems with service.

Menu: Menu is typical grill food, burgers, sandwiches, fish & chips, fries, ribs, chicken, etc.

Recently we ordered a burger, fish & chips, spaghetti, and drinks.  Everything was prepared better than expected (compared to some similar restaurants in Modesto). My fish & chips were flaky, not greasy and almost more than I could eat (almost!). The fries perfectly prepared and came out hot and crisp. The burger was very good. (The only restaurant burger in Modesto that I have found that is better would be the Del Rio CC Burgers).  Spaghetti was plentiful and good.

Atmosphere here is busy and lively with a bunch of people eating and drinking at the bar, and people of all ages having meals. One of our visits was on a Saturday and we enjoyed watching college football while we ate. Both times I've been here there was a few firefighters / law enforcement folks having meals... I guess this has become a go-to place for them. It's a go-to place for me too!

Service wasn't very good.  Three people greeted us, but it was like mini, miney, moe, which one was going to seat us.  Not busy yet they took us all the way to the back, right outside the men's bathroom, and we got to see men peeing each time the door opened, poor floor planning.  Served our drinks in a small mason jar and charge $2.50 for a .20 cent serving, had to ask for a refill.  Pulled pork was mushy, very mushy.  Chips were hard and greasy.  Not cooked to order for sure.  Served a lot though, plate filler, eye appealing, but to hard to chew.  Ground beef was good, slaw was good, so I paid eleven dollars for a beef patty and serving of slaw.  Way over priced but when you consider they own the Boardroom and Wexford's it explains the prices.  Not a restaurant for casual dinning even though the atmosphere is very casual.  Bar menu is bigger then food menu.  They'll make it because its a bar and that side of town needed a bar with entertainment and that they'll fulfill but not an American Grill for sure.  Focaccia, chipotle, whiskey peppercorn, aioli, just to name a few menu items.  Save your money for dinning else where more affordable, Modesto just got another night club disguised as an American Grill......

Went to Rivets for my birthday dinner with the wife and kids. It's very loud from the music and people which is a good thing if your kids are with you. The menu is great with lots of good American comfort food options. A bit pricy if you're on a budget. My burger and house Chips came out and I was impressed with the quality and taste of the burger. Would be a great place for a date night . Great food and full bar !

Pretty good neighborhood joint. Nice to have something on this side of town. Menu is kinda of small but with some good options.  The beer can chicken for 2 was very good. So juicy & tender I could cut mine with a fork. The ears of corn that came with it were very good!  No martini menu though but some quirky named mix drink that were pretty good. only downfall is that the drinks come with a lot of Ice & not so much drink which is why only 4 stars.  Overall very good! Oh & try the homemade chips with onion dip as a starter.
