Now that you have the new iOS7, REMEMBER. Your life is still a mess. Feel better? Good.

Now go to RockBox. Bring a few friends to embarrass. Because there ain't nothin dat shows grander camaraderie than interrupting them while they're singing a ballad of dey long lost love. Pinch yo nose, sing it slow, ruin dey flows, and yo face be punched like da drunk you are.

Ya might be askin. How do I VIBE? well, let the vodka preach out yo words into a spew of "i forgot these lyrics so ima make up notes like Miley writes a song. WRECKING BALL. WRECK ME DOLL." Remember to bring your pet monkey on your shoulder so he can INSTAGRAM dat shit. And bring your other pet monkey to sit on your other shoulder to play the gong while you wreck the song. Good lord.

I fux wit da front door sign. It's craaaaazy. Definitely helps you engage with reality. Here's a picture in case you haven't seen the other 1 million pictures of the sign floating around. The interior is modern, sleek. It's got a smooth, sexual dim glow on the interior and when you walkin dem corridors, ya tink of what goes inside dem rooms. Ya tink mischief. Ya tink secrecy. Ya remember: TRUE LOVE IS FORGETTING DAT PEOPLE SUCK AT SINGING.

Also, they have recently added more than 5,OOO songs! Count em. I KNOW YOU WON'T.

Also, $4/person during Happy Hour: 4p-8p and all day Sundays.

Still great... But people have started smoking pot and cigarettes inside. Made me nauseous and the hostesses weren't aware of it until I complained but it didn't seem to help.

It was so bad we had to leave.

My ratings just keep increasing the more I come to this place. I LOVE ROCK BOX!

I really wish they had another branch Eastside for my karaoke needs. I would probably be there a few times a week instead of a few times a year. Every time I go with my regular group 2 hours flashes by before we knew what hit us.

Classic Rock, Showtunes, Torch Ballads, Country, Top 40, anything and everything. Their catalogue is HUGE and just keeps getting bigger every week. I've even brought people who don't like to sing in public and they found songs they just had to belt out. It's so much easier in a small room with your closest friends.

Food has changed, they no longer have their sliders and musubi but instead offer snacks from Cure next door. Haven't tried their food since we ate before coming last time but it looks insanely good. Duck fat popcorn?? °o°

Even on weeknights this place can get packed, including the bar area. It's popular but there's good reason why. These guys are doing it right.

Was unable to make reservations, but they accepted us anyway. We were only allowed 1.5 hrs since they were apparently booked. Song selection was excellent, everything we suggested was available. There are also songs which have the actual music videos, indicated by 'V'. They also gave us the room with the view of the street, which u could turn off or on, as well as speakers that would let passersby hear u sing. But why would we want to embarrass ourselves any further? Singing dramatically and out of tune is enough. ;) Service was friendly and quick, but she did note that if they get busy, they often do not answer the service phone provided. We did not have to call, she checked on us quite frequently. I did not get to try the food, I was too busy singing ;)

This is the best karaoke place I have been to. We had a great time. We sang and laughed and did not want to leave. Haha.

It's a clean facility with interesting décor. The place looks very new. The prices are reasonable, which is awesome, because many other karaoke places are such a rip off. These prices are probably the best I've seen.

This place has an amazing selection of songs. They have so many songs. I wouldn't be able to find some songs in other places, but I found everything I liked here. For example, they had KC and Jojo's All My Life.

    Yay for Rock Box.

Best karaoke place husband and I have ever been to, and we've been to a lot of karaoke places, including pseudo karaoke at our wedding. (YES) Song list is amazing, iPad control is so high tech (haha I know I sound old), and drink/food menu looked great although I couldn't partake. It was a bit weird being the pregnant chick waiting in the bar of drink singers for our private room. Hope I wasn't judged too badly.

    Oh my god.

So growing up, I went to karaoke with my cousins. We'd do it in individual rooms. Then I moved to America and noticed ppl did karaoke in large rooms with strangers. You had to put your name on a list and wait forever. You were lucky to get one song in and um..you sing in front of people you don't know. Needless to say, it was a  shock to me.

Then Rock Box comes along and it's what I call "Asian style karaoke" aka the only karaoke I like. Unlike some other "Asian style karaoke" places I've been to, it's beautifully decorated and kept and has a huge selection of songs! Also they have a Hello Kitty drink which is an automatic what, 4.5 stars from me!?

Seriously, this place is awesome. To the you an idea of how big the music selection is, they not only have Glee songs...THEY HAVE THE GLEE MASHUPS!. Oh yes...you heard me right. The service here is also good. She did a great job dividing up the bill, bringing our drinks out quickly and coming back near the end of our karaoke time.

It is expensive, not going to lie. Its stupid to charge by the person because the more people you have, the less chances you have to sing!

With all that said, I LOVE this place. It's probably one of my new favorite night life spots now!

    Awwww yeah, son.

Whether your idea of karaoke involves a private room with low lighting, comfy seating and ballad duets with your significant other, or unabashedly making a spectacle of yourself in public while mewling out "Total Eclipse of the Heart," -- Rock Box is for you.

I've been here a few times (each occasion with a different-sized group) and have had a turn on the mic in the small, medium-sized, and large party rooms, as well as in the public bar area near the front door. Each setting offers something a bit unique but they've all delivered in spades.

For the private rooms: Let's start with the song selection. At Rock Box you get to look up your songs with the traditional binder with codes, or via iPad app (which is also how you enter them into your queue). They maintain a very updated selection of tunes so you should be expecting to shout out "OH SHIT THAT'S MAH JAM" as you leaf through the pages. Their catalog is pretty deep and before you know it, your song list'll take, like, 3 hours to get through.

See but that's okay 'cause the waitress will swing by with your drink order to keep the vocal cords lubricated with LIQUID COURAGE, essential if you're planning on horribly mangling "Gangnam Style." Drink prices were comparable with pretty much any "upscale" place on Cap Hll ($8-11 cocktails). For those of you saying you need to drink a lot before you start singing, may I suggest pre-funcing a bit beforehand 'cause you're gonna be here awhile and drinks will add up.

Quick run-down on room sizes: The 2-person room is just that-- built for two people! Don't try to fit any more in there 'cause someone'll end up on someone else's lap and unless you're singing "Pony" everyone's gonna have a bad time. But it's perfect for a karaoke date and actually kind of intimate. There's a medium-sized room that fit four people with room to spare and spread out, and I've also been to a birthday function hosted in the large party room. There must've been at least 30 people in there rocking out, with a stage and everything. That room will definitely be expensive, paying per person per hour so plan accordingly.

Singing in the public area near the front bar is free, though, so it's perfect if you just want to wait your turn to sing while nursing a drink from the bar.

Rock Box is sleek and modern and all-around awesome. If you want a private room, I HIGHLY recommend making reservations in advance or else you'll be waiting a long time for a room to open up. Other than that, grab a mic and... well, you know what to do.

We went here for a friends 21st and it was a good experience. ID check is at the door so make sure you have your wallet! The rooms were a bit smaller than they looked in the pictures, but I'm pretty sure if you came in with a bigger group than 4 you'll get a bigger room. The songs were pretty easy to find and it's pretty up to date.

We did have some trouble with the mics cause it was a small room and we were pretty close to each other there was quite a bit of static coming from them.

Other than the room space the service was great and the drinks were delicious!

If I could, I would rate Rock Box as 3 1/2 stars.

We came by on a Saturday afternoon and reserved a private room. They have various sizes to reserve, or you can sing for free in the lobby/lounge area. If you come before 8, then it is only $4 per hour per person, which is a really great price for singing without public embarrassment.

While singing, you can order food and drinks from the server. I like the fact that you can choose your songs from an iPad: probably the only way to navigate their huge selection of songs (in Japanese, Spanish and Chinese as well). The only bad thing is that all of the English songs don't have the actual music or video playing (probably copyright fees issues) when you sing. The best part I watching the cheesy videos, but you'll have to sing in a foreign language to get the actual song and images to play on the screen.

They even open until 4 AM on the weekends, so bring your drunk friends after the bars close and sing your heart out.

This is a pretty awesome place for high class karaoke fun.  The new(?) food menu leaves a little to be desired, but the cocktails are excellent.  [I say new because the waitress mentioned they were now getting stuff from next door and our Rock Box veteran friends were disappointed to find some favorite items missing from the menu). We had the guacamame (avocado and guacamole mashed together and served with chips), which had a good portion of chips, but skimped a little on the actual guacamame to go with them.  For a cocktail I tried The Salaryman and was quite happy with the strong and not too sweet concoction.

The front of the place provides some fun and entertainment in the form of free karaoke while you wait for your room.  The private rooms provide more intimate fun with your friends without having to wait for a bunch of strangers to sing in a song rotation.  The iPad song selection, navigation, and song order control are very user friendly.  However, this place can get expensive fast, so you're not going to find me here as part of a regular karaoke experience. Since you pay by the hour and it seems to be prorated, it was also frustrating to wait around (at least 10 minutes) trying to find our server to cash out.

    Helpful tips:
-Make a reservation ahead of time if you want a room.
-Pay attention to time or go for happy hour if you're trying to keep your wallet padded.
-Try to encourage folks to have song ideas before heading into the room so you're not paying for song browsing.

We had such a fabulous time here and sang our butts off! Besides the fact that our room was super small even though it "could seat 13 people", the rest of our experience was SO great. Our waitress came by quite often and was always getting us new drinks, the songs were easy to find and input into the machine and everything about our time here was damn near perfect. Every one in our group had a great time and can't wait to do it again.

I've been here maybe half a dozen times and for the most part have had a good experience here. The rooms are nice, the selection is pretty good, and I like how you can get food from Cure which is one of my favorite bars.

I did have a pretty bad experience, however. My friends and I were there late on a Saturday and we had maybe a 45 minute wait for a room. We ordered some (expensive) drinks and went off to the side in the main area to hang out. I had a flask with me, which was admittedly a little dumb. We got asked to leave. Whatever, I've been kicked out of plenty of places before. But the bouncer proceeds to take my flask.

We're already out of the building and I politely ask him for my property back. He's a large, bouncer type looking person, and was clearly attempting to get me to try to start a fight with him -- he was getting uncomfortably close to me, puffing out his chest, cocking his head to the side, and asking loaded questions like "why were you trying to be difficult? Why didn't you leave when I asked you?" We left _immediately_ when asked. We caused zero trouble. The experience was unbelievably juvenile. He was seriously desperate for a fight. I'm an adult, I don't get in fights, even in self defense.

He wouldn't budge and told me that supposedly management's position is that I would have to call the police to get my property back. What?! I just wanted to leave with the stuff I came in there with. So, a few minutes later, two cruisers come by, ask what happened, and I get it back. I can't think of anything more trivial to waste the police's time with. On top of this we were originally waiting to, you know, pay them even more money.

I know it's an isolated incident that most people will never have to experience, but several days later and I'm still disgusted with how I was treated.

Karaoke isn't my jam. I have a horrible singing voice, and making a fool of myself in front of my friends and strangers just doesn't interest me. BUT.... if you put enough alcohol in me, like most people, I all of a sudden want to be as big of a jack ass as possible.

Rock Box with their 4-8 pm Happy Hour, free singing in the Bar, with $5 doubles and $3.50 draft beers definitely helps me to get just drunk enough that I think singing "Whatta Man" is a good idea.

I doubt I will be back here that often, and I am sure I will never rent a room here, because I am not down with paying to make a fool of myself, but I will be back for cheap Happy Hour drinks and singing along with my homies.

This place starts to get crowded after 8 pm on the weekends. Which is soooooo dumb, because then you have to pay regular price for drinks and have to wait a long time to get a song in. People are dumb.

Came again a couple months ago, this time with friends. We had eight people in an 11-person room, which made it nice and roomy.

Illegal amounts of fun. Even those who weren't sure about singing became mic-hogs once the gin soaked in. Everyone loves to sing! Some just need more liquid encouragement than others. Now everyone wants to do it again this summer :)

I have also come here with just my husband. We got a room which holds two people only, and it was awesome! So romantic and fun, and we tried singing all kinds of kooky duets together.

If this place was closer to my house I'd be here on a weekly basis.

JUST KIDDING - okay, apparently I just ran into some confused/bizarre employee who no longer works there. The manager was really nice and contacted me personally to try to figure out what happened and fix things.
So YAY!!! Bring everyone here!!! Have a good time, it's the best!!!!

This place is awesome. I'm not into karaoke at all. I'm a terrible awful horrible very bad singer.

HOWEVER, you get your own party room to sing in with your friends, or your friend's friends. They had a ton of new music! You could pick out of song books by title or by artist, and then there was also an iPad you could search on and then enter your karaoke playlist into. I just wished the iPads had some sort of "Currently Trending", or "Top 50 [insert genre] Songs", or "Popular Songs of the Night" feature because otherwise you can just enter the Artist or Title.

The food my companions had looked tasty, our drinks were good, and the servers were awesome. I really liked how it was decorated--and I'd actually walked by a couple of weeks ago and wanted to go inside solely based on the decor. The bathrooms only had two stalls, so that was really the only thing I didn't love about the Rock Box.

I still don't like karaoke, but I would totally come back! This is such a great idea. Very few people actually enjoy singing in front of random strangers, or hearing random strangers sing. So, why not just have your own room with friends and a few strangers? Plus you can all sing along, sit down on the couch and sing, or get up and dance. Your choice!

I want a Rock Box in Minneapolis. My, oh my do I want one. This, ladies and gents, is karaoke.

In MN, there's literally no upscale karaoke places. It's dive bars or bust. Maybe that's why I was so pleasantly surprised by Rock Box from the get-go. It's classy, but not uppity. The drinks were strong and the service quick. They have private rooms of all sizes, plus a small main area for the rest of us.

We got on the list for a private room, but ended up just having a blast in the main room so we stayed there. The main area is super small, but we lucked out and were able to grab two (out of the maybe six total) seats at the bar. Turned out that it was for the best, because the rest of our group ended up going home and we would've been in a private room of just us. Awkward... or fun!?

Not only did my friend and I get to sing a ton of songs (despite how packed it was), but the volume wasn't outrageous and we could have actual conversations in between. And, as with every karaoke bar ever, it's easy to make friends. Especially with the regulars like the dude at the end of the bar who told us to "believe" and "keep singing." So supportive, this guy!

Did we perhaps get a little tipsy and commandeer the microphones when people didn't show up for their songs? Maybe. But we were on a hot streak, so we cannot be held accountable. I gave what I thought at the time was the (No Doubt) performance of my LIFE, when in reality it was probably something like "not terrible."

Anyway, thanks for an absurdly fun night in Seattle, Rock Box!

Unfortunately, Rock Box managed to mess up last time I was here.

My friend had a birthday party here and at the end of the night, we had an extremely rude server come in and check up on us. This is especially disappointing cos I've been known to sing praises of this place anywhere I can when people mention wanting to find a karaoke joint. The worst thing is to come off a great night with someone being rude to you for no apparent reason.

Boo. I end with this because that's what I say now when someone asks me if Rock Box is a good place.

Rock Box is a fun place to sing to your heart's content, but if you aren't much of a karaoke person you can still have a blast hanging with your friends in this inviting atmosphere.  I made a reservation for this place on a Tuesday for Friday night and all that was open was about 8:30pm.  It is definitely a squeeze so if you're claustrophobic you may want to opt for a slightly larger room than what's advertised that it can fit.  Even though the room advertised it fit 8 people, then let us squeeze 9 people in there - even with 8 it was a tight fit in the room.

There is a good drink menu to choose from and great variety of songs to choose from on an ipad.  Customer service is great.  I would highly recommend reserving a room because I don't think there's much standing room in the front lobby area to sing and you can make sure you have a spot for you and your friends.  It is a bit pricey, but I can't wait to go back again!

You know that window on the corner of Nagle Place and Pine St that's oddly "clouded" with the sign "ROCK BOX" right next to it? My first karaoke bar experience was there and I have to say, it's wicked fun. If you ever get access to that room, there are two special switches. One that either fogs or clears the window to allow or disallow passers-by to see you. The other controls the intercom that's just above to allow or disallow passers-by to hear you. I find it funny that you can turn the window cloudy and just freak people out by saying "Hi. I see you."

Unlike the old-fashion remote or complicated panels, Rock Box uses an iPad for quick song/artist finding or song name typing. The bar is amazingly clean and there is a room big enough for a party. The best part is, if you have only a few people and do not mind standing, you can always hang in the lobby area and sing open mic with others.

The hours are till 4 AM and the drinks are crazy cheap. Though the room sizes are a little deceiving (their medium size room should be a small), it's warms up pretty quickly based on how many people are in it. The songs are always up-to-date and if I remember correctly, there are foreign songs as well. Fact wise, this karaoke joint is pretty darn awesome and one I highly recommend to EVERYONE, whether you can sing or not.

I really liked the experience here when we were in the room along Pine St. where we could see people walk by as they heard our songs.  That is a 5 star experience and everybody should do it!  People are hilarious.

I've been in 2 other rooms in the Rock Box and the experience wasn't nearly as awesome than it was in the street-view room.  From what the karaoke pros in the group were saying, the song selection at RB is good, and I really enjoy the random videos that don't match the songs...that might be my favorite part of the experience.

Awesome location, professional & friendly servers, a decent drink selection, singing and laughing: Rock Box is a winner.

Ahahahahah. This place is always so fun. I find myself wandering here, dragging along friends late at night when we have tipped the scale from buzzed to drunk. I am a karaoke junkie. I lived in Florida for a bit, and this is just what people do in Florida.

This is not your typical karaoke bar, that is if you are accustomed to the dj with the stage and a mic. You can either reserve private rooms or hang out in the main bar area. Just go up to the bar to put your name down for a song and wait your turn. This can take up to an hour, so be ready to drink. They have a great selection of songs...but I just wish they would add Annie Lennox "Wonderful".

This is the funniest part...when it comes your turn, you just sing. In the bar. No stage. Walk around, let your friends join in. It definitely is a low-pressure option for those friends of yours who are too shy to try it.

Drinks are average price here, $5 a beer.

Oh, and on last thing. The floor is always wet...because everyone is spilling their drinks

Karaoke in Seattle = Rock Box.  There's no better venue.

They have the most up-to-date song selections, a great sound system, rooms for various group sizes, snazzy lighting, and an awesome menu with fun twists on Japanese snacks and drinks (chips and guacamame, Japanese mac 'n cheese, and the sake sangria are my go-to items!)  Excellent happy hour selections and specials throughout the week.

Standard pricing is around $7/hour/person for a room, but it drops to $4 or so for happy hours.  They also have a massive party room, which I'm determined to book one of these days!

Be forewarned that Fridays and Saturdays are typically booked the day of, so make your reservations early!!

I've had many, many hours of fun here and look forward to many more!

This place is amazing.  Great decor and concept, I can't wait to go back. The selection of songs is incredible and the staff is super nice.

We started out doing a few songs in the bar area and then migrated to a room.  I think that the acoustics are better in the room that we had, but being in the bar is fun too.

The room was $4/person per hour, which I thought was completely reasonable (this was a Wednesday night - so I believe that is their "happy hour rate" which lasted the whole time that we were there).  And each has it's own iPad where you can pick your songs.  The staff checked on us regularly, but not so regularly that it was a bother.

    Definitely check this place out!

DON'T COME HERE WITH A BIG GROUP. Come here with MAX 5 people in your room. They will start charging you for mysterious person(s) that they even try to kick OUT of the room if its reached capacity. ALSO, when people pay as they leave they won't even put that payment towards the room you went into. This is what happened to my group a couple of weeks ago and it happened in the past TOO. Kick people out yet charge the room for extra people? Go to a place with a flat fee per hour instead of per person because charges come out of nowhere.

I left my group early, paid at the front and then left. Then an hour later I get text messages from my friends that I didn't pay. Well i did. SO, where did my money go? This place isn't organized. Be prepared to have a room total be at least $200 even DURING their "happy hour" prices.

EHH, I'd rather go to CHINA TOWN!

**song selection was GREAT tho. service, not so much.

Comfy, clean, modern, with up-to-date song selections, room service and as much space as you want/need from 2-40 people. Beer, beer, and more beer. They just kept bringing it. Did anyone order it? Who knows. Was it welcome? Hell, yes!

My only gripe is (at least in the room we were in) the mics were turned way low and the music was turned way up so that no one was singing so much as screaming with the mic pressed against their lips. But it's not like anyone was busting out solo ballads anyway so not a big deal.

Highly recommended venue for a party or just a fun night out with people who similarly enjoy karaoke! Pro tip: If you drag a friend with you who doesn't like karaoke, you're gonna have a bad time. Take it from me - not even this bastion of karaoke awesomeness can make a convert of *that* person. Best not to try.

    Happy singing!

Back at 'atcha for their 2nd Anniversary shindig earlier this week. Suh-weEeEet!

Mister Jay got the room in back while the Top 10 battled it out for Emperor/Empress karaoke title for the year in the party room.
We had a ball, of course!
Bawlin', screamin', yellin', hecklin', singin', rappin', beltin', soothin', seranadin'.
Me, Cynthia, Jay, Chris and Madeleine had an awesome time... we done did.
I also had the opportunity to FINALLY meet the owners, Mindy (TY for the drink) and Steve. 2 super cool & friendly people.

The other day I came by with a coworker and she enjoyed it. She also pointed Britney Spears' parody 'Oops I Farted Again'... I know what your're thinking----I just HAD TO DO IT. I think she laughed her ass off. It was hilarious, yeahh buddy.

The fine print: For some reason, the iPad doesn't behave as much (to me?) in the corner window room. 2-3 times an hour, it loses connection [Close/Retry] button, etc. I forgot the trick - if Retry doesn't work (sometimes it does), then I click Close and try the buttons. Also, and this is probably something more helpful if you really know songs, sometimes the lyrics and music aren't in sync. When in doubt, stick to the beat, of course! =)

Not the biggest Karaoke fan but bringing this concept to this side of the ocean was berry, berry smart of someone.... I know this place has a Japanese style fusion as they were the originals to the Karaoke machine but having been to Korea and half Korean as well, this is just a taste of what we call Norebang ()!!

My girlfriend planned a mini birthday bash here and had we known the size we would have upped the room and gave us a little more space but none the less we really enjoyed ourselves. The charge was $7 and hour they said max 8 people but we were able to squeeze in an extra and squeeze in we did. They had a pretty amazing cocktail menu and also finger food menu to go with.

The decor is modern and inviting each room including seating, tables, a big screen, ipad to pick songs to your heart desires and a couple of mics too depending on your party size!

We had reservations @ 8:30-10:30pm and as we left it was getting packed on the outside as well as they have a bar when you first enter and it's kind of a free for all stand up karaoke.

I will definately keep this venue in mind and visit again:) Good times!!!

Holy wow I loves me some Rock Box. The drinks are tasty, the bartenders are friendly, and it's a really supportive crowd. I've only sung in the bar, never a private room, but I'me looking forward to giving that a go at some point. I'm impressed by the song selection!

A few gripes, however: for a bar that dedicates itself to karaoke, there is very little semblance of a rotation. I don't mind waiting for a song -- even I know better than to complain about something like that on a busy Friday night -- but there's really no excuse for me to sing two songs in a row, or even with just one or two in between. Also, the bathrooms are TINY.

But that's okay! I really enjoy sitting in here and grooving to everyone else's music, or just tuning it out and watching Shrek play on the back wall (which really just adds a nice absurd touch to it all).

    Long live the Rock Box!

I had to check this place out after all the great reviews I read.
Being a solo type of guy I prefer to sing in public, no private room for me.
The song selection is top notch, very nice blend of music.
The bartenders were busy, but still took care of me without making me wait.

Let me first start off by saying my group of 5 and I arrived about 1.5 hours before closing and all rooms were closed except the bar-public free for all karaoke.

I talked to the manager and let her know we were out of towners and would love a chance to use one of their private rooms. She then agreed and let us use the window room -- which by far in my opinion is= get the window room or no room at all! It's so fun, you can turn on the window shade/speakers to sing and dance in front of the window display and people outside can see/hear you. Everything is pretty much up to date and the menu remote is an ipad...can't get any better than this.

The manager made our last night out in Seattle. This place is rockin.

Rock Box!!! How awesome are you?!
    5 stars awesome that's what.

A large handful of friends and I went here after dinner without reservations for a room, so we decided to swarm the main lobby area with others to join in the public singing fun. Rock Box was accommodating to everyone there, had awesome drinks (Hello Kitty Cream Martini was the hit amongst the girls), and the staff and other singers were upbeat and super friendly.

Like other open public karaoke bars, there are slips of paper that you list your song on, which ends up getting queued up with everyone elses. The mike gets passed around like the hottest chick in town. And they have an AWESOME updated list of songs.

I'm definitely coming back here to try the private rooms.
And to dance like a rockstar.

Went to have a birthday party there and I was happy that I went.

Reserved a room from 5-7pm ($4/hr per person) and had a personal waitress taking our drink/food orders, and we just went nuts.

The place has a good ambience, clean, the sound is good, a huge list of songs (but no Say It Ain't So by Weezer??) and came out paying very little for a lot of fun. Apologies to the next room for my screaming rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, but hey, Mr. Mercury would be proud of me!

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME THIS HAPPY HOUR IS OUTRAGEOUS

I'm outraged at how rad this is.  $5 doubles?  F'realz?  As if I wasn't enough of an alcoholic already.  I'll take steps 13 til question marks and spend all my 1 day sober chips to come back.  This place is hot to trot if you want your guts to rot.  Except they won't, because sweet, glorious music will tie all your bits together and keep you safe forever.

The bartenders=excellent.  Singing in the bar with a bunch of gleeful strangers=excellent.  Booze=duh.  I've rented rooms here before but frankly just singing in the bar is too rad of a deal to pass up.  You owe it to yourself to go.  GO NOW!  RIGHT NOW!

I can't believe I have not written a review for Rock Box yet! Holy hell!

If you love the feeling of belting out a song in front of friends or strangers Rock Box is the place to go. Have some confidence in your singing skills? Head to the bar and serenade the crowd for free. Shy guy or gal? Rent a room with some pals, create a safe space and let it all out. There is a room for any group ranging from two people up to 50. Room rates are $7 per hour but go down to $4 during happy hour. Want the party room? Get ready to shell out $175 an hour and $125 an hour for happy hour. Pricey yes but worth it if there are more than 15 people.

The food is tasty, Japanese inspired cuisine. Cheaper during happy hour of course same with specialty drinks and beers. The song selection is plentiful and it is updated frequently. That new jam that is stuck in your head? It will be in the song selection.

Go to Rock Box whether you are a karaoke king or queen or a karaoke novice. You don't have to sing in front of anyone you don't want to yet if you do you can.

A group of us came here for a birthday celebration, and we somehow lucked out and got the room with the window facing the outside and speakers that play out onto Pine st.

That made for a fun celebration, but the bill did not.  For 2 hours and some drinks, we had a bill greater than $200.  Crazy.  Granted, it was a Friday night, and drinks weren't more expensive than many bars in town, the $7 per person per hour really racked up.  I feel like for a room reservation, they shouldn't do the cost by person, but rather by room.  Also, they put caps on the number of people who could be in the room at one time, but still charged everybody who even stepped in the room for even a minute.  It was kind of unnecessary in my opinion.

I don't know if I'll be back anytime soon, but it was a fun experience, and it seemed like a lot of people were having a great time.

Before two months ago, I had never sang karaoke though it had been one of the many things on my bucket list to do. I have always been good to tag along with friends that do sing though!

This place looks/feels like a very Asian, contemporary karaoke bar. If like me, the only karaoke bars you have been to range from bowling alleys, dive bars, SBK (yikes) , then this place is a god-send. I like that you have the option to sing either publicly in the main bar, or rent private rooms. (You can still hear people caterwauling in their own rooms, but c'est la vie ;)

I've only had club soda or vodka rocks here, so I can't comment on the quality of the bartending skeelz but the service is always nice, whether you rent their large party room. Company note: They messaged me to mention that their rates are actually $7/hr pp during regular hours and $4/hr pp during happy hour. The party room is cheaper during happy hour too..$125/hr + tax/gratuity. They also have great deals Monday-Wednesday.

The music selection from the book to the iPad used to select your music differ, I believe. I can find more music just searching the iPad than flipping through the book.

And it should be known that I have never fancied myself a good singer, in fact, karaoke has only confirmed my prior suspicions. However, I'm not letting that stop me from making a fool of myself!
