This is across the street from my apartment and I love that! I pop in here for good food, creative, tasty mixed drinks and ambiance. I never sit in the dining room and I've never done a concert here. It's all about the patio in the back (very top secret. Enter through an alleyway past Starbuck's). It feels both enclosed and opened at the same time.

I love the big tree in the center with white lights. The decor is very romantic and I love going here with my guy. The noise level is perfect for a conversation. I've always had warm, friendly servers who don't give me attitude if all I'm ordering is dessert and drinks. Speaking of drinks, they have a basil honey beer that's divine.

I'm a big fan of the raw tuna tacos and the key lime pie. The flourless chocolate cake was good, too. The prices are a bit steep, but the food's good, so I don't mind.

Other reviewers mentioned the $6 for valet parking. If you simply drive away from the main strip (Vermont Avenue) about one block in any direction (look for the residential streets), there's free street parking.

very entertaining. love this bar, loved the show. the food was meh.... i got some burger with a cheese sauce that was gross. good thing it was so dark inside! think it's been taken off the menu since that fateful night.

do sit at the booths to the immediate right overlooking the restaurant. quaint little date spot. very intimate, very dark.

Teo is the best server EVER!!! He was sweet to us, friendly, got every order correct, took pictures of us for us, and just made us feel so special! He even saw on my ID that my birthday is tomorrow so he surprised me by giving me a huge brownie with ice cream and a candle on it. Totally unexpected! We had such a great time!

The food is AMAZING. We've been staying with a friend who is a gourmet chef, and she's been cooking for us at her house. This is the only meal we could have had in LA that was as good if not better than our friend's meals. Even she was impressed!

I highly recommend the Girl in the Mirror cocktail. It was by far the best drink we sampled, and it is made with a terrific Aviator Gin by a small distillery in Oregon. It was delicious!

Next time we'd love to catch a show at the Rockwell. The show was full, so we were in the patio area, but that was also terrific because the ambiance was perfect and it was easy to have a conversation across the table with our friends. Teo's service was so prompt and terrific, and the presentation and flavor of each dish we sampled just blew us away. GREAT JOB, Rockwell!

    What a hidden gym!
Thanks to my dear friend who always knows about the latest hot spot for musical and artsy greatness, i was able to experience this wonderful hidden gym!

Rockwell base mainly on word of mouth, and apparently their talent is so amazing that they went from a small area of the bar to now, where the whole restaurant is completely dedicate to it! It is by far one of the most entertaining shows I've been to in years!

Each time they do song and a show is base on a particular director. I was fortunate enough to watched the director of Forest Gump, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Flight, Death Becomes Her, Contact and Back to the Future. So they jump back and forth with different popular songs from each movie and act out a couple of there popular scenes!
I love how they interact with the audience and have them be apart of the show! They use the whole restaurant as a Stage, so that the audience gets a more intimate feel of a typical broadway show! I was place by the bar and was actually a perfect spot to view everything without leaning in or moving around ..in fact a couple of times i felt like i was part of the act, as the bright light will shine at "Penny" when she sings and Im seated right next to her! Felt surreal and I loved it!

must order 2 drinks each and a 2 dishes. Valet parking only in the back for $6 but you can def. find free parking somewhere if you look hard enough.

The food here is fantastic, but the performances are what shine here. Came her to watch a Michael Jackson tribute band on MJ's death anniversary. The place is quite beautiful, I loved the decor and the intimate feeling of the rooms. So many great things on the menu, me and my party ordered different dishes to try.  I ordered the Quinoa burger with grilled Brussels sprouts. So yummy! And yes, the portions are quite huge, I had to pack the other half! Next came the show. Well Katie B was right, these people can SANG! You see there's a difference between singin', singing, and SANGIN'! These people can SANG! Every MJ song was meticulous and creatively covered. The band was more than a band it was a company of singers and dancers. It felt like a cirque du sol show mashed up with RENT mashed up with an African American gospel church choir!! All this great music and great food in a very intimate venue. Beautiful. I will definitely be back!

Came here for a friends going away shindig.

My friend had initially made reservation to occupy the roof area.  But since he put the wrong date on the reservation, their was already a wedding reception up there. So we had about 30 people taking up the whole bar area.

Food: I ordered the Vermont Grilled Cheese: It had havanti cheese, truffle butter and tomato bisque. It also came with truffle fries. WOW this damn grilled cheese seriously blew my mind. It was really good.  It was one of those dishes that I was taking my time in eating because I didn't want it to end. I didn't know what the tomato bisque was for, so I just kept dipping my grilled cheese and fries in there. Also tasted really good. And those damn truffle fries! I'm a fan of truffle fries! and these ones did not disappoint.

Drinks: Beers were $6 and a shot of whiskey was $8. And blue label whiskey was $34!

Price for my grilled cheese: $13

Service: It was actually pretty good. At times it was a little slow. But they were quick to pick up our plates and glasses from our table when we were done with them.

    Parking: Vallet parking for $6.

So yeah. I'm a fan. Good experience!

Had a really wonderful time at the venue last night. The layout of the place was great, very intimate. All the staff members were really positive and helpful. Not one person I encountered had a frown, really great to see at such a busy place. My friends and I would all recommend that you visit, and doubly suggest you come on a night Jeff Goldbloom and his band play. They're pretty damn amazing!!!! The only reason I'll put a 4 star, is the price of the food and drink. It's a bit high for burgers, fries and beers; but it's all well made, tastes great and came out fast.

I went for the For the Record 'Zemeckis' show last Thursday and had a blast - the performers get a 5 star rating!! Very impressive show. The actor playing Forrest Gump blew me away. I will definitely return for the next show.

The service gets a 4 star rating. We changed tables due to the uncomfortable bar stools (couldn't imagine sitting there for a 2+ hour show - would be good to know if you are reserving seats), and they were super accommodating. Our servers on the floor were friendly but less attentive than the excellent bartender - who came out to check on us once we were seated (very classy).

The food gets a 3 star rating. The flatbread was ok but not amazing. Definitely do not order the chocolate cake...not worth the calories!

Overall an average of 4 stars! I'll go back to see the next show.

I found this place on Goldstar, and thank goodness I did. Going to see one of the venue's performances was so much fun; everyone in my party had a blast and can't wait to go back. We're really excited about some upcoming directors whose films are going to be featured in shows.

We went for the Coen Brothers installation, which featured musical skits from the directors' movies including Brother Where Art Thou, Fargo and The Big Labowski. The show producers and performers did a great job of putting together skits and costumes to go with popular songs from the movies. The band is great, too, especially the pianist.

The reason for four out of five stars is because the food left a lot to be desired. We only got apps, but considering most people go much earlier than the show start to eat dinner, I would expect higher-quality cuisine. The chicken sliders were super dry; we couldn't even eat them. The sweet-cor flatbread with arugula, vermont, maple bacon, basil and white cheddar sound unique and delicious. But it was also really dry and didn't have much flavor; the arugula was just thrown on top.

I have got to say, this will not be the last of reviews. But as for customer service and comfortability, that is where the rating is originating. As for atmosphere, it is a pleasant, fun and brilliant one. I will be trying again to fulfill my invitation to come see the grand old show. The next yelp will reflect my true thoughts. I came to Rockwell this past Wednesday night, and it was an amazing and lovely experience!!

Even though it was crowded, the two of us were seated in just a minute. Our server was fun and friendly, the back of house staff were extremely prompt, and all of the staff were extremely attentive.

I absolutely love the decor of the dining room - a tree in the middle with orange kites hanging from its branches, as well as a fun chandelier and a laid back, hip feel. We also appreciated that we were able to watch the game on the television.

Our dinner was amazing - salmon and short ribs. I highly recommend the brussels sprouts in balsamic as well.

After dinner, the wonderful manager Wayne was able to fit us into the standing room for Jeff Goldblum's Wednesday night jazz show. The show was out of this world with incredible vocalists, the best saxophonist ever, and Jeff being extremely fun. Definitely a fun, loose party vibe. I highly recommend this show! We had delicious cocktails and the gluten free chocolate cake was a nice, light snack.

Again, many thanks to the manager, Wayne, who truly made our night so great and was incredibly kind and helpful. It is much appreciated.

A wonderful night, highly recommended. We are moving to the area, so we will definitely be back!!

I'm only writing this to warn the world about their "turkey sliders" which on the menu sounded very enticing... but they turned out to be stale-tasting sodium-packed patties that were very obviously taken out of a cheap frozen package. Very low-brow school-cafeteria quality here. Yikes. For $6 I might not have blinked, but $15??? Grotesquely overpriced  - I was expecting something full-blown gourmet! Borderline offensive.

But... Great space, great courtyard/balcony and great entertainment.

Go and have a good time - just avoid those sliders!!!

My idea of a good night out involves great food, awesome cocktails, and amazing entertainment. That's exactly what I got at Rockwell Table & Stage.

The front of the establishment is a restaurant and bar. You don't have to see a show to be there. There were a few patrons dining in the front area but it's nothing compared to the crowd that showed up for the performance in the stage area.

They have different performances all year round. The one I went to was music from the Coen Brothers. There were 8 actors that performed and sang live the entire show. The music were from popular movies like Oh Brother Where Are Thou? and Fargo, just to name a few. The actors were amazingly talented and their singing was so perfect that I forgot they were singing live. They used the whole space for the performance so we had actors coming right up to us several times.

I had one of their cocktails and it was delicious. The crab cake appetizer was also amazing. It came with avocado and this yummy red sauce. The crab cake itself was packed with big lumps of real crab meat. I ate before the show but I still finished the dish.

They have valet parking right in the alley behind the restaurant. It's not that expensive to valet so I would recommend it rather than walking. The dress code is pretty casual. I wouldn't show up in flip flops although you can but you really don't need to dress up for it.

They did they that they will be doing selections from the Great Gatsby and Tim Burton later on this year. I would definitely want to be back for that!

    Met Jeff Goldblum.
Free admission to late jazz set with talented jazz musicians. Found seats at the bar. (don't bet on getting a table unless you reserve).

Great mixed generational crowd and ambience.

We came here on a Friday night with a party of 8. Service was great for 75% of our party...the waitress seemed determined to ignore a couple of the girls in our group.

Drinks were slightly overpriced, but made well. As far as food goes, the Cap'n Crunch onion rings were tasty and novel in theory (however, they taste nothing like the sugary crap you enjoyed as a child). The spicy tuna tacos were a hit, as was the arugula and mushroom flatbread with truffle oil.  The mac n cheese took the cake for most of the crowd. Speaking of cake...there was a delicious chocolate cookie cake dessert that came in a skillet fresh out of the oven (a la mode of course).

*check out the Dresden next door for a drink afterward for a taste of old Hollywood at its best!

I had a great time here for a birthday party.

    1. Great Ambiance
    2. Great Mac 'N Cheese
    3. The usual drinks/prices

I'd recommend it if you are in the area.

I love Los Feliz.  Finally made my way over there when some friends were visiting and we started our night here.

I have to say, It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either.

    Some of the positives:

It's a cute little place and the location is right in the heart of a bunch of little bars.

The patio is also really cute.

    Drinks are fairly priced.

    The negatives:

    Slow (but friendly) service.

    No one greeted us.

The music was SOO loud (I swear I'm not a 70 year old woman).

    Food is OK.

I've only officially been here during happy hour so that's all I'm going to speak to here.  I liked it...

I ordered a vodka martini for $8 which isn't bad for a martini.  The price is even cheaper on Wednesdays when it's "Martini Wednesday", which is great.  It was a decent size drink and made well.

The bartender was super friendly and accommodating...not to overbearing but just the right pace of service.

As I sipped my beverage I looked around and enjoyed the nice indoor / outdoor atmosphere.  There is a space that has an open roof and right next to it is a covered bar and additional tables.  There was some nice color decor in the trees (check out the photo I added), making the atmosphere all the more enjoyable.

Would I come back and try this happy hour again...yup...

Jeff Goldblum's jazz band is amazing live! Everyone must go. Is there a place where I can review Jeff Goldblum? Maybe I'll review that after this.

We waited over two hours to get into the 2nd show. The guy that seated us was accommodating and helpful and had waitresses come by and liquor people up. Once we got seated we had to track down a server...which was annoying.

The venue's atmosphere is cool but the food is meh! I got their cap'n crunch breaded onion rings that were just alright...it would have been better with frosted flakes. My friend had the mac & cheese that was watery like a soup. The truffle fries were probably one of the better items on the menu but is definitely made to share (there's a lot on a plate!).

Service inside the venue was also meh! My friends accidentally sent back my food so I went to the back to the registers and to see if I can track the food down. I hovered near two waiters but both failed to acknowledge my presence or offer to help. Annoying.

Overall cute space and location! I'll have to check it out in the evening to see if the dinner menu is better/worth the price more so than during Easter brunch. (Two entrees, one Bloody Mary, and one Coke plus tax and 22% tip came out to $52)

    PROS:
    ~very cute space
~The eggs benedict were good, but skip the hard body eggs which were bland and not as exciting as the description says
~The server, Teo, was really friendly
~The host who seated us was accommodating and nice---he even found us a table close to a heat lamp as we wanted

    CONS:
~We entered a dark empty restaurant and weren't greeted by anybody until we wandered to the back outside. Maybe have a greeter present at door or perhaps provide another entrance if the front restaurant is closed?
~I thought it odd that there was a DJ during Easter brunch and was thinking maybe entertainment more suited for the holiday would be better.
~No refills allowed with soft drinks, although it's nice the server informed us upon ordering
~Parking can be tough (unless you want to pay for valet), but we parked two blocks away and walked

Went here yesterday for lunch with co-workers. It's a little hidden gem in the ghetto with a cool 1/2 indoor 1/2 outdoor patio type deal.

I was concerned when we 1st walked in because it looked like nobody worked there, (there was no host), but then we were greeted by a very nice guy who ended up being our server.

Had the mac n cheese and tuna tacos to split among our table of 6-perfect portion for our group and both were truly amazing dishes! The tacos are super-duper tiny and 6 come in an order. The mac n cheese was sooooo gooey, piping hot, and had a perfect thin crust on top-delish!

I ordered the salmon for lunch which comes with a port reduction, which was great, brocillini and a rice pilaf of some sort. It was very tasty and perfect for a healthy lunch. Everyone I was with enjoyed their meals.

I would def come back here and try new things. The service was also excellent!

Last but not least, they had a 20% off lunch coupon valid m-f through YELP which I got when I "checked-in" there, so if you go for lunch, see if the offer is still there:)

I wanted this place to be soooo much better.  Maybe I just ordered the wrong stuff at the wrong time of day.

Started with the mac and cheese and turkey sliders.  Mac was on point, I recommend.  Turkey sliders should be off the menu.  They were dry, and had some kind of wasabi tasting stuff in them (horseradish?)  My co-worker and I couldn't even finish the 3 of them.  My sandwich was pretty good though.  Probably not worth the carbs, but it's done.  I got fruit as a side, and it was literally hot.  Not warm, not room temp, hot.  My strawberries and melon were clearly under a heat lamp for at least 10min.  It was not refreshing at all.  Would've returned it if I didn't know what goes on in kitchens with returned food and I wasn't on a lunch break for my job cross town.  Coworker ordered a salad that was unimpressive.  Maybe this place is better at night, with a date, and some liquor... Definitely not great for lunch.

Rockwell is a romantic venue perfect for a date night~ I went 7:30pm on a Tuesday to use up a Groupon so I can't comment on the show, but the decor, service, food, and cocktails were lovely.  I ordered a bunch of starters for variety but stuck to the recommended Mary Jane cocktail.

Grilled cheese sandwich came with a side of tomato bisque and fries. Our server made the clever decision of making the accompanying side of fries truffle parmesan because we made a separate order of truffle fries not knowing the sandwich came with fries. Can't go wrong with a basic grilled cheese~
Filet skewers were a bit tough and overcooked, but I would reorder, with specific instructions for the filet medium rare.
    Crabcakes were PERFECT!
Skillet of mac and cheese looked appetizing, but ended up being a snooze.

My only regret of the night was not having saved room for dessert. Will definitely revisit with a hot date!

Came here to celebrate my birthday this past Sunday (it was also my 1st time too). I had a group of 14 people & we sat in the partial viewing seating area (the cheapest price of the tickets). Even though we were sitting in this area, we still were able to see the show because the entire room is the stage. These highly talented performers move all around the room to sing.

We saw The Marshalls, which was an excellent show filled with singing & skits from movies like Pretty Woman, Riding in Cars With Boys, Big, A League of Their Own. The show was 2 hours with a 15 minute intermission in between. (But they started 20 min late) Make sure you try to use the restroom before or you may be part of the show (like I mentioned, the performers are all around the room). I love watching each scene performed but have to mention that the music (live band) was too loud. Would have been better for the music to be a little lower & let the singing speak for itself.

Now here's the food we got:

Truffle Parmesan Shoe String Fries: (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/rockwell-table-and-stage-los-angeles-3?select=94kccVyZBs-NqH-fdg72NQ#FqRzaz6TwFM7c6GtuUticg">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) Disappointment, didn't taste any truffle nor Parmesan flavor. They were just regular thin fries that come with ketchup that were misnamed so that you get overcharged. I would have preferred thick cut fries.

Skillet Mac & Cheese: (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/rockwell-table-and-stage-los-angeles-3?select=94kccVyZBs-NqH-fdg72NQ#94kccVyZBs-NqH-fdg72NQ">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) Very gooey & cheesy, also comes with real pieces of bacon (nope, this is not healthy). This was definitely a favorite among the group.

Spicy Tuna Tacos: (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/rockwell-table-and-stage-los-angeles-3?select=94kccVyZBs-NqH-fdg72NQ#wDIMcAJLepQS-ms7oAsLVA">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>)  The tacos had a nice crunch & the tuna tasted fresh. Liked the presentation of these.

Blue Cheese Fondue Burger with Brussel Sprouts: (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/rockwell-table-and-stage-los-angeles-3?select=94kccVyZBs-NqH-fdg72NQ#HpHIO-Fhl_6QyN6t4RD8CQ">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) My husband thought this burger was good, but didn't think it was anything special. The brussel sprouts were burnt, big disappointment.

Veggie Burger with Butternut Squash Risotto: (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/rockwell-table-and-stage-los-angeles-3?select=94kccVyZBs-NqH-fdg72NQ#VmfZOlHoYG_voLqcGXuI9w">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) This veggie burger was a disappointment. The veggie patty was dry & seemed a bit flavorless. Even Boca Burger patties are moist and have some seasoning. I chose the butternut squash risotto as my side & thought this was good, but didn't like that it wasn't served warm when I received it.

Braised Beef Short Ribs with Capt'n Crunch Onion Rings & Brussel Sprouts: (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/rockwell-table-and-stage-los-angeles-3?select=94kccVyZBs-NqH-fdg72NQ#jwrUvi86hup5mck4GZ5Vng">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) The beef was moist and tender. The flavor and seasoning on these were delicious. The Capt'n Crunch Onion Rings had a nice sweet & savory taste. The brussel sprouts were also burnt, just like the ones that my husband got.

Harvest Chop Salad: (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/rockwell-table-and-stage-los-angeles-3?select=94kccVyZBs-NqH-fdg72NQ#Iehg-2vm90VwA1w6wdEXKg">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) a very sad looking and tasting salad. This salad is made with chopped endives, apples & dried fruit. Would have preferred this salad to be made with the better for you dark green leafys. I would not recommend ordering this salad.

Service was attentive in which our server ,Sammie, was very good on refilling our water glasses during the show. But I felt like the service was a bit slow though. With a group of 14, we had separate checks (to make it easier to pay) & so everyone's food came out at different times. Sammie told us that the food comes out according to the order of the checks he puts in. There was also a few hiccups with our orders. One of my friends ordered creme brulee & he received it in a fair amount of time. About maybe 10 minutes after he finished it, another server comes by and gives him the creme brulee, even though he had already received it. The server told us that since it was already made, we could have it for free. The same thing happened with beer that we ordered. We had already received our beer, but was brought a duplicate of what we ordered. Not that getting free food is a bad thing, but it seems like they need to be a bit more organized with their ordering system.

Just to let you know, if you see a show here, you are required to order a 2 item (food/ drink) minimum during the time you are here. But if you decide to have dinner here, then that 2 item minimum is waived. But you are still required to pay an 18% gratuity.

Overall, very happy that I decided to celebrate my birthday here & would love to come back here.

By the way, free street parking on Prospect (if you can find it).

I fell in love with the heart of Los Feliz/ Griffith Park area ever since our LA East CM, Katie B. introduced us to some of the surrounded businesses. One of them was Rockwell.  Yelp had an event here and I was lucky among to try it. Since then, I've been in love with this place and been back late nights to have drinks with friends in the beautiful outdoor Patio space with a big tree right in the middle of the Patio. Very romantic!

This is the first time since I've been back here since their indoor remodeled dinning area. They now put the stage right dead center of the restaurant. But the performance goes on all over and 360 degrees live theatrical concert experience in and  around the small restaurant. I'm sure at more then one of the occasions, you get to see them perform right under your nose!

    SHOW:
    FOR THE RECORD: THE MARSHALLS
The casts performed rotating acts and singing songs of a few famous motion pictures' movies soundtracks like Pretty Woman and Must of Been Love, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Wind Beneath My Wings This Used to Be My Playground, and more! The skits and songs will make you laugh hysterically from A League of Their own, sadness with a little tear jerking performance of Beaches, and heart warming feeling from Pretty Woman and Runaway Bride.  It was so entertaining!!

The show is about 2 hours with a 15 minutes intermission so you can finish your meal, order desserts, or restroom run.

FOOD: Now let me start with the best tasting food of the night, which are the sides.
The best part of the entire meal were the 2 sides we get to choose with our entrees.
ROASTED CORN MASH with lime & cayenne- 5 stars! Yum!
CAPTAIN CRUNCH ONION RINGS- 5 stars!!! Best onion rings I've ever tasted!
SWEET POTATO FRIES- 5 stars! best sweet potato fries ever!
TRUFFLE PARMESAN SHOE STRING FRIES- 5 stars! lots of yummy truffle Parmesan flavor!

    Now back to the meal,
NEW ENGLAND CRAB CAKES with gazpacho sauce- 3 stars. The crab  cakes were TOO mushy and soggy. It needed more density to make it a crab "cake" other wise, they should call it mashed crab cakes.

CHEF WAYNE'S CANDIED BEET SALAD-4 stars. The beet was like a little beet cake.

BROWN SUGAR PRIME RIB OF PORK with cranberry chipotle aioli.- 4 stars. The pork chop was tender a bit dry but the cranberry chipotle aioli sauce compliments it.

BRAISED BEEF SHORT RIBS- 3 .5stars. the meat is a little too dry, but plenty of meat.

For dessert we had the SKILLET-BAKED CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE vanilla bean ice cream with chocolate caramel sauce. A sweet tooth's heaven as the ice cream melts into the hot chocolate skillet chocolate chip cookie. .. But, It is VERY VERY SWEET!

Parking: Metered street parking or Valet parking at $6. We  drove a few round around the blocks and found street parking :-)

Overall, it was an amazing night! I deinitely will be back for other shows. Tim Burton will be playing from Sept. 26-Nov.30. I am looking forward for it!!!

This past Saturday my husband and 9 of our family members attended the For The Record show "The Marshalls". It was great, and our waiter Sammy was probably the most attentive waiter we've had in the five times we've been to The Rockwell.  Goldstar was offering really great discounted tickets Presidents Day weekend and I just about cleaned them out.

I think this was the first show since The Movies of John Hughes where I was familiar with at least 90% of the songs and movie scenes they performed. I've included a picture of the set-list.

Because of the size of our group we were put in the far back corner (on the drummers side) which was expected so our view was definitely "partial" as stated when I bought the tickets, but no one seemed to mind. Our group (all of them Rockwell virgins) really enjoyed the show and said they wanted to go back.

For food this time I ordered the mac & cheese skillet which was pretty good and a surprisingly decent size considering it was on the appetizer menu and a mere $8.

As usual I ordered one of the themed drinks off of the specialty menu/program (pictured here).  The "Beck and Call Girl" was good, but one of my cousins ordered a drink called the Aviator (off of the regular menu) and that was off the charts good!  I'm definitely going to order that one next time.

Their upcoming shows (as listed in the program) include the movies of Robert Zemeckis, and somewhere down the road they plan on tackling the movies of Tim Burton.  We cannot wait for these, of course, and I can think of a whole new crop of people that will want to see these shows as well.  Especially Tim Burton.

    Thanks again. Love this place!

There's something really disorganized about this place. We came to eat, not for the show which might be great.

I came for a late supper after going to the Pantages. I made a reservation on Opentable and received a reminder via email, but when I asked the waiter he said "oh, at this time we just accept walk-ins." Well, the point is I get points for reserving and turning up. But, I guess he couldn't be bothered to check the computer.

Actually, reaching the back patio area and table area was a hike in itself. When you arrive at 10.30pm it's at the end of the Show & Dining which most folks know Rockwell for. So, as you enter it's dark; there's no greeting staff and everyone's on the move. We just stood around and then asked the barman who directed us to the back.

This inside dining area  is more like a cafe than a restaurant. It's small and the decor is odd. There's a dark loungy area to the left, and a bright area to the right with a few tables. We were sat under a flat-screen TV with sports playing. Odd. And then the slightly beat up wall next to our table became our companion for the night. We were shown to our table by one server, then the barman came by to say he was our server and barman etc. until the first server hissed at him to step off...this was his table! This place is disorganized.

The meal was average - overpriced and too crude for fine-dining. That's why I think this place is a diner/cafe, except for the cocktails and stage show. No serious restaurant would serve the water and beer in plastic glasses (this wasn't the patio). Despite claiming to have a good wine selection there was little sign of that on the menu. May be there's a separate wine list. I doubt it.

The sand dabs $23 were breaded and pan-fried. There was plenty of fish and pretty well executed. I saw the capers, but there was no hint of the lemon sauce. It at least needed some lemon wedges. The choice of two sides were tasty and nicely done - chard and roasted corn mash (which isn't really mash, but crushed corn off the cob.)

The Rockwell burger $15 has to be one of the worst I've had. There was melted cheese, but it wasn't of the blue cheese variety - all the fat, none of the flavor. The bread roll was an unloved mass produced one from somewhere like Sara Lee. The brown sesame roll peeled a bit from being dry. Seriously, every other place tries to win awards with their burgers. This one was so embarrassing why would you call it the Rockwell burger?

We came with a Groupon which was accepted without any problem. May be we'll try a show here, otherwise it's just drinks and may be some appetizers like the table next to us...mac n cheese etc. Like I said this is a diner/cafe, not a proper restaurant.

I came here for my roommates birthday, and the staff is what warranted the four star review. We had made reservations for the upstairs area, but they were very willing to let us choose whatever area we wanted.
The place itself has a very nice atmosphere, but if it weren't for our large group the space would have been pretty empty for a Saturday night.
I was disappointed by the corn mash, it was too sweet for my liking, but everything else was great.
I would definitely come back here for a casual drink or two if I lived closer to this area.

Friendly and attentive staff. Great looking place. Shame the food sucked.

Came here for lunch on a Friday. Ordered a BBQ chicken wrap, which lacked flavor. Had nothing special going for it. Fries were terrible. Maybe it was what I ordered but I was highly disappointed.

A note, if you are willing to try the place, they have a 20% off deal if you check during lunch hours Monday-Friday.

Came here to meet with friends for bottomless mimosas. The cut off time was 3 pm and when we arrived it was 2:55pm. Our server extended it for us until 4pm.

I didn't eat here so can't rate that but their mimosas are delicious!

I made an OpenTable reservation for Valentine's Day about a week in advance.  When a live person from Rockwell called to reconfirm, I had to change the time (which he did, no problem) but I also said, is your online menu up-to-date, or seasonal?  My friend and I are vegetarian and I want to make sure we have options.  He said the menu stands and I was like, cool, because there are options.

We get there, and the place is super cute, so I'm eager to eat.  And we are given a special Valentine's Day menu that has exactly one (lame pasta) vegetarian option.  I explained to the waitperson that this is surprising given my phone conversation a few days ago and also this sucks.  Wasn't her fault or decision, obviously, so she tried to be like, oh it's still a great pasta dish!  I'm like, nope, this sucks.  So she comes back and says the kitchen can make stuff off the bar menu, which basically added hummus and mac & cheese to the options.  Still not cool.

I suggested, especially since it was a "holiday" that it might have been nice for the manager to come over instead of sending messages via the waitperson, and that a nice apology for wasting our time and effort would have gone a long way to making me less annoyed.  Not even a comp drink.  Frankly, this was crap management in my opinion.

We decided to leave, and as we're at the valet stand, the manager comes out.  With something like, "the server told me I should talk to you."  Wow, how pro.   I don't want to even give more acknowledgement to this condescending, rude man than he deserves, but let's just say, no apology, no accommodation, and pretty much put the blame on me for not asking the right questions to the right people.

The whole situation was douchey, so I went across the street to Il Cappricio, where they have always treated customers with respect and friendliness.

Note: This review is not for the food...

So I came for a combined birthday for 2 friends. We had a LARGE group of people and at first they only gave us a little corner in the downstairs bar but after they saw how half of our party filled out like almost the whole indoor portion they opened the whole thing for us, which was nice. It was really chill for a bar with really quiet background music. The first time I came I remember they opened the upstairs too but this time it was closed so it was pretty dead besides our group.

However, towards the end of the night we walked into the "club" ish part of this place... There was a DJ and a stage where a lot of people were just dancing and getting down... Pretty funny since a lot of people were pretty drunk. The drinks were pretty averaged priced so nothing special there... Overall, I just didn't find it THAT fun... just ok... At least there's a parking lot right in the back or street parking!

We came here for a friend's birthday bash and his awesomeness radiated throughout the restaurant. But, since he doesn't work there, I can only give this place 3 stars. My friend had reserved the rooftop section for all his famous peeps + me. We had our personal servers who did a great job remembering people's names and drinks. Once we entered the gate, we were immediately escorted to the dim rooftop. I don't even know why we were handed a menu--I couldn't see anything. The only light was from the moon and heating lamps. The Muggleton's Mule was a true delight. I usually try to stay away from fruity vodka but the blueberry flavor paired really well with the ginger beer. I think I had also asked the server to mix in some Red Bull so I guess I had a modified Muggleton's Mule...?

After awhile of mingling and munching, we hopped downstairs to the bottom floor for some dancing. My friend hired a DJ for this event and he dj-ed like a troll under the stairs. There wasn't much space for dancing because of the huge tree growing in the middle of the restaurant. If you enjoy eating outdoors but don't want to deal with the hassle of pigeons, people staring at your food as they walk by, and breathing in car exhaust, you should definitely check out Rockwell VT.

5 Stars for the show...Best show ever! OMG, came here Friday night, got the best seats(Premier seating). The show was so exciting. We will definitely be coming back for the Tim Burton one. Loved it!

2 stars for the food...I had read the reviews that the food tasted like airport food. Well I came with an open mind, and ordered the cheeseburger plate. Horrible! I could only eat 3 bites and I was like gross... They were right. That food was like microwave food or something. It was nasty. Definitely eat before you come. If you need to eat something maybe just order the fries, or flatbreads. Those were ok. I wish I would have ate  before I came. Oh well the show made up for it.

This review is strictly for the back restaurant, not the front show.

We got there around 7, and couldn't get out until about 10 p.m. because of the horrible service.

The service was hands down the WORST service I have EVER experienced in any restaurant, ever. It took 20 minutes to get a freakin' menu, an hour to get our food, then our waiter straight up disappeared... but someone else came by to collect my friend's wine glass, which still had wine in it, and dumped it out.

    WHO DOES THAT?

I ordered dessert when our waiter finally reappeared, which took an additional 30 minutes. We asked for a replacement quarter glass of wine, since my friend's was dumped, and apparently that made the waitress angry, because she never. came. back. with. our. check. We could have walked out without paying, and almost did. We sat there for over a half hour, trying to flag down a waiter.

But no, we are honest people... and finally got up from our table to ask a woman who appeared to be a half-assed manager for our check (after staring at her for about ten minutes trying to get her attention/get her to take a hint). Then we went back up to her to hand her our credit card because no one was paying any attention to our table.

If you are the owner of this establishment- are you aware of who you have as "waiters?" Do you know how awful the service is? WHO HIRED THESE PEOPLE?

The only reason I am giving this two stars is because the ambience is nice, and I really did like my food. I had the butternut squash ravioli and the cookie for dessert. It was really, really good. My friend had the sliders though, and they were really dry.

    NEVER AGAIN.

I am very torn on my star rating.  The Stage absolutely deserves a full, glowing 5 stars (how are these people still doing nightly gigs at Rockwell and not on to big time fame and fortune??  Seriously amazing).  The Table is definitely no more than 2 measly stars, maybe even 1.  So I guess we compromise.

A couple friends and I purchased a Travelzoo deal for Rockwell's Tarantino show a few weeks back.  I was slightly concerned that the cheese factor would be high, but the deal made that gamble a worthwhile one.  We called to book several days in advance which was a good move as the Tuesday night show we attended sold out.  When we arrived we entered the front of the restaurant and stood there for quite a while before anybody informed us that the ticket line was at the rear of the building.  We joined the throngs of people who were apparently familiar with this routine, slowly worked up to the head of the line, and were led to the tiniest table not quite built for three.  Somehow we squeezed in and remained squeezed for the three-plus hour duration of the dinner and show.

As has been mentioned before, this is a 360 show, so if you don't have a perfect view of the stage, don't worry; the actors make their way through the audience and bring the show to you.  These guys are freaking incredible!  Bringing movie scenes to life and singing their hearts out to the great soundtrack hits.  It was very engaging.  We were glad, however, to have had the foresight to request our bill prior to the end of the show so that we could escape at the end without having to wait for everybody and their mother to settle at the same time.  Three hours in cramped conditions is enough and we were ready to call it a night.

Food-wise, this was a total bummer.  We started with the lobster deviled eggs which we were all unenthusiastic about.  They were pretty bland.  I went for the veggie burger and ended up paying $15 for a burnt Boca patty on a giant bun.  What a fucking rip-off.  D ordered the salmon filet and reported that it was not so great.  M was at least happy with his short ribs.  Whatever the soup of the day was was abysmal.  I'm pretty sure that the sides were the main event at our table: the butternut squash risotto and the roasted cotija corn mash were incredible, especially in comparison to the rest of the lackluster meal.

My suggestion would be to arrive fed and come for drinks and the show.  It's probably a much better deal.  Or find a similar TravelZoo promotion that makes their overpriced shitty food a somewhat better bang for your buck.

Easily one of the most entertaining experiences you can find in LA.

The entire interior has been revamped so that instead of having two separate rooms, one for the show and one for dinner, it's an all-in-one venue now. The stage is smack dab in the middle and the performers use the entire room to regale you and your tablemates with lively renditions of scores from one director's set of films, with little snippets of the films mixed in to help the story line move along. While a lot of the seats are obstructed (there are columns everywhere), you get the gist of the show from any given seat and can see most of the show or hear most of the show, which is really all you need.

The talent in the room is absolutely mind boggling... we're lucky these gals and gents haven't been scooped up by the silver screen. The voices on them are truly remarkable; they give me the chills every time. And I love that there's a different cast for every show. I've seen the Quentin Tarantino set, the Coen Brothers, Scorsese, and most recently John Hughes. It's really amazing what they can accomplish in an hour and a half.

You purchase your tickets online (they range from $20-$50 seats depending on where you'd like to post up) and I believe there is a 2-order minimum also, but you would most likely want a drink and bite anyway, so it doesn't really seem like you're being forced into anything. It's not a cheap night, but it's also a night for the books, one that you won't be able to stop talking about or recommending to others, and you will probably find your way back as well. I know my GFs and I have made it a monthly tradition.

Oh, and get the Captain Crunch onion rings (with a side of ranch). You're welcome.

This review is strictly on the FOOD not the show, even though my friends and I absolutely LOVED the show (For the Record: Tarantino.)

We got here an hour - hour and a half before the show started, famished.  We ordered mainly off the happy hour menu because the prices were so reasonable.  For 4 girls we got: 2 grilled cheese, 2 mac and cheese, 1 sweet potato fries, 1 truffle fries, and 1 mushroom flatbread.  As for drinks we got a round of blueberry lemon drops.

Let me just start off by saying the mac and cheese was the best I've ever had in my life.  I don't like when places go too crazy and but a million different cheeses in their mac and cheese or odd cheeses that take mac and cheese from comfort food to something "gourmet."  It's macaroni and cheese.  It is simple.  Keep it SIMPLE.  Rockwell's did that and I am grateful, but my jeans weren't because I proceeded to eat my weight in macaroni.

The fries were great and a huge huge portion so definitely SHARE these.
The grilled cheese was just grilled cheese but the tomato bisque that came with it was delicious.
The mushroom flatbread was actually my least favorite part of the meal, I thought the cheese was too heavy and rich for a pizza, but that was just my opinion because everyone else that tried it loved it.
The blueberry lemon drops were good as well!

Later that night I had another drink, the Aviary, which was literally the sweetest, fruitiest drink on the planet.  Being a stereotypical girl, I was in heaven.  Everyone else hated their second round of drinks, I can't remember what they were :(, but I was obsessed.

Finally, we finished out our night and our meal with the skillet baked chocolate chip cookie.  In essence, it was a pizzokie, but 10x better. We got one to share between the 4 of us, but I was so obsessed I got myself another.  Trust me that it was fantastic, I ate that cookies until I was about to throw up.

Rockwell's I'll be back, especially since you're down the street from my new apartment... I'll be back A LOT.
