A little history regarding our adventures prior to our arrival at the Rocky Mountain Bar and Drill you (3rd Hunting Season). Â We had been hunting for Elk in the mountains for over 12 hours prior to our arrival. Upon arrival at the Bar and Grill we waited to get seated by the bar. No one had noticed the three of us standing there. After a few minutes we decided to sit at a long table close to the bar. About 7 minutes later we had the waitress come up to the table. Since we were waiting so long, the three of us were engaged in a conversation when the waitress came over. Â Apparently she did not appreciate the fact that we did not give her our undivided attention. She started demanding what our orders would be in a pissed off attitude.
I had ordered the flat iron steak sandwich (good helping of steak on a hoagie bun per the menu). Another ordered a chicken wrap, and the last one ordered the Nacho's. We also ordered some pops and beers.
After our waitress took our order another group came in and sat down at the table from where we were. They must have been locals, due to the fact that the waitress ran over to them and was so very kind, cheerful and helping to them. She proceeded to tell them about the steak dinner and pasta special for the night. She never mentioned anything to our table. (Ok maybe she didn't like outsiders...I get it)
After 10mins or longer the waitress brought out our drinks. The coke I ordered was warm. When I asked her for some ice, she became extremely aggravated. She stormed to the bar and brought me 4 ice cubes.....yes just 4 ICE CUBES. I let it go.
Another 15mins and our food was brought out.....served with a pissed off face. Now we have not eaten in the last 8 hours and were starving. When I got my flat iron sandwich, I noticed it was a HOT DOG BUN and not a hoagie bun. Bing! Â The HOT DOG BUN was cut in half....ok I can deal with that. After my first bite of 95% HOT DOG BUN. I pealed back the HOT DOG BUN and seen two VERY SMALL pieces of what look like steak. Now....my cat's poop was bigger than the two VERY SMALL pieces of dry steak. Being so tired and hungry I just ate the HOT DOG BUN sandwich. My bill for the sandwich and pop was over $15.00 Â In closing, the waitress never came back to see if we needed anything or to refill our soda's..... The professionals that we are, had tipped the ungrateful waitress 20%(Your Welcome !)
This place is a joke....... I can see why businesses end up closing in this area. They know nothing about good food or customer service.....their main goal is to just keep the booze flowing and it showed with all the overly drunk people. Unsure how this establishment has lasted so long. You want some great food and unparallel customer service go to BRICKHOUSE 40 in Granby, CO it's very worth the drive.
Oh when I called the owner, he couldn't understand my disappointment and told me there is not one hot dog bun in the place. Not once did he apologies or try to make amends of the situation. Bad business tactics.....What a bunch of baloney....Oh the chicken wrap was cold, stale, and had no taste........Blah....
The Nacho's were ok...(how does one mess up Nacho's ?)
The band ate dinner here after our show on Friday night. It looked to be the only restaurant open - the downtown area pretty much rolls up the sidewalks after 8pm.
The waitress was the only server on duty, but she did a great job - got drinks served quickly, took our orders, delivered the food hot, refreshed drinks, all while managing an increasing load of customers coming in.
The food was terrific. Really good - they were out of the prime rib (Friday's special) so it was to choice #2: NY Strip steak. It was really good - perfectly cooked, tasty. Sides were perfect.
This was really an experience WAY BEYOND our expectations. Would definitely dine here again.
