If you like college bars, this is the bar for you. If you don't like college bars, don't bother going.

So we'll start off with either $1 or $2 beers. It's pretty awesome. I don't live in Brighton anymore so I'm not sure if it went up in price or not. But there are a ton of TV's and it's a great place to catch a game, especially when you're on a budget.

The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because the last time I ate there I got food poisoning from eating the wings. It made for a rough 3 day stretch and I haven't eaten there since. But the beer selection, the prices and the atmosphere are all solid.

We basically lived next door to this place, yet ordered delivery from them on Foodler all the time... They're awesome. They'd usually even be there within 20 minutes. We had the same guy for delivery all the time and had the usual friendly conversation over the 4 years we ordered from them. Would highly recommend them to anyone in the area, and will miss them now that we've moved abroad.

Went for the Bruins game tonight with a couple of friends. Had decent service once we were finally assigned a server, which took about 10 minutes. No biggie. Spinach and artichoke dip was tasty, burger was pretty meh. Dry, overcooked for "medium". Fries were a bit limp but still warm and okay to eat. LOTS of BC kids. In fact, besides the staff, I'm pretty sure my friends and I were the oldest people there. Beer selection is okay too. About 40 supposedly on tap but out of six we chose they were out of two (including Sam Red Brick which I really wanted to try). If I'm in the area I might stop in again but I think there is more in Cleveland Circle for your buck.

Just got delivery from this place (throughout foodler) and it has to be the most disgusting food I have ever tasted. I ordered buffalo wings and nachos. They both went to the garbage after one bite !

I live right next door and am guilty of having them deliver (thanks for not judging guys)
All jokes aside....Im a native of Boston and went in to Roggies tonight for dinner and our waiter made it a point to make me feel welcomed and normalized despite the obvious burn on my face from the marathon. He also told my boyfriend and I not to hold back because "all drinks were on [him]." This was amazing and as my boyfriend and I walked out we were lucky enough to be greeted by another Roggie's staff who asked/made sure we were ok. Unbelievable support from this place, thank you guys so much !

The true test of pizza is how it tastes the next day, either cold or reheated in microwave or oven. This wasn't great to begin with, but did not do well in the next day trials. Although it was pretty OK when cold, the crust got either floppy/mushy (microwave) or tooth-chippingly hard (oven) when reheated.

Knowing that this place was a total college bar I only had mediocre expectations to begin with.

Bf ordered tomato soup and blt, soup tasted worse than canned soup if thats even possible.

I ordered the lobster roll, probably my mistake, the lobster had zero flavor wa soaking wet and frozen in the middle, more celery than lobster in this one.

Atmosphere was ehh...too many people jammed around every table made for a packed and uncomfortable and loud setting.

I saw this place on foodler. Seemed to be a reasonable price so I decided to order a sandwich. Expected delivery time was 45 minutes. Seemed a bit much seeing as its a few minutes away from my house, but that's fine. Delivery time comes... and goes. Another half hour goes by and no word. So I decided to call and figure out what was going on.

The guy told me that the deliveries were out and that it should be arriving shortly. Not too happy, but whatever. ANOTHER HOUR goes by, and still nothing. So I call up at this point, after explaining that it had been two hours since I ordered, I got put on hold so they could take down a few orders (the guy left the phone on). I was told that there was "a small delay", after once again stating that it had been TWO HOURS since I ordered a SANDWICH, I was told that it would be another half hour. This place is 7 minutes from my house. When I finally got my food, the guy didn't even apologize.

Despite the wait, the food was actually still warm, and the quality was better than I was expecting at that point, especially after the poor service. So they get a star for that. It was good enough that I MIGHT give it another chance, but not for a while.

Anyone who thinks Roggie's makes exceptional pizza should have their yelp account shut down immediately. They use the same dough as numerous places around town, which I assume is frozen, or certainly not made on location, and it produces the most boring, tasteless crust you could possibly imagine. Not to say that they deliver a horrible product, but to say it's anything above OK is being generous...I mean, even crappy pizza is better than not eating pizza. With so many great options in the area it blows my mind that anyone would choose to order pizza here...then again, I'm not a BC kid living in the city for the first time who grew up on Pizza Hut.

You know, I wonder if we went on a good day, but I had a good experience here. The staff checking IDs were really cool and personable. Our waitress was really awesome at making recommendations and giving us the right amount of attention.

Ordered the chicken burger and was pretty happy with my choice. My boyfriend ordered the lobster roll and it too was quite tasty. Not the best food, but it definitely worked for us considering it was right down the street and there was no line or crowds.

The only negative I have is the music. Why, oh why, are they playing techno (and loudly!).

Not sure I'd feel the same if I came while they were busy. But I guess that's why I stay away otherwise.

My boyfriend used to live near BC, so we've ordered from Roggie's a lot when we just want a pizza pretty quickly. In general, they've always delivered well within the expected time frame, and while I've had better food, I'm not exactly paying for or expecting anything gourmet.

However, the last couple of times we've ordered from them, we've been really disappointed. The first time, our food arrived 15 minutes after we placed the order, which was COMPLETELY unexpected. And we would have been pleased with the speedy delivery, except that the pizza was barely baked. As in, the base and crust were still practically uncooked dough.

The other night, we figured that after better service from them before, we'd give them another chance. This time, the order arrived about 30 minutes later, which is pretty par for the course with most places, including Roggie's. However, although some of the food was hot, the pizza was almost ice cold.

Oh well. Time to search Yelp for another pizza place!

This place is as average as it gets. It's a big BC bar, but their best deals are the lunch and wings/beer deals. That's the only reason I stop in. Also, they don't have a full liquor license, so all their alcohols are flavored and have less alcohol content. Oh well.

Beer list is good. Like I said, I stop in for the wings/beer special and the $7 lunch special.

You had better hope your order arrives perfectly, because you are not getting any service to rectify it here.

Food: Perfectly meh - not bad, not good.

I order delivery from this place occasionally and had a horrendous experience where the driver, A) made me come out in the pouring rain because he couldn't find a clearly visible street number, and B) gave me the wrong food, so I had to call him back and go out in the rain AGAIN.

Then, when I called the manager to talk about it and see what could be done... I got a voicemail and he never called back. That happened over a week and a half ago.

Forget this place, there are better food stops in walking distance like Eagle Deli.

We stopped in for a drink before a show at BC. Both the beer my boyfriend ordered and the wine I ordered, both listed on the menu, were not available.
The staff was friendly.

Roggie's is what it is. It's a sports bar with average pub grub. That said, the lunch deal -- soup, sandwich and a beer for $7 -- is a steal, and the beer selection offers more than you would expect out of a college sports bar. Cityside is waste of money in comparison. I do have one, crucial piece of advice: avoid the pizza at all costs, it is terrible.

Now that I've been out of Brighton for almost two years, I doubt I'll be returning to Roggie's any time soon, but for those living in the Cleveland Circle area in search of cheap drinks and eats, you can do much worse than Roggie's.

THERE IS A STEELER BAR IN BOSTON?

Oh halllllll yes. It's in a basement. It's near BC. But is there cheap beer, old townies from the 'Burgh and five bagillion televisions to recap every awesome playback of Hines Ward and Ben Roethlisberger tearing it up?

I'm in.

Yes, It's a little dingy and crowded by college students but really...where else can you go see black and yellow, black and yellow?

LETS GO STEELERS!

I need to log in some good reviews because I'm starting to sound like a negative nancy. It's just that giving bad reviews is my way of venting.

So here it goes. Roggie's has better food then Cityside. In fact it is good food. I like the atmosphere. There are lots of TV's and a good beer selection. Not to mention good service.

Wow that was unsatisfying.

This review is purely rating Roggie's as a mid-afternoon (Steelers-fan-friendly) sports bar.

I had a friend in town last weekend from Pittsburgh and she desperately wanted to go to a Steelers bar for the playoff game, and we found Roggie's. I came in with 0 expectations and was shocked.

Firstly, note that the small downstairs bar is really what is *supposed* to be the Steelers bar. But there were so many people, even the much larger upstairs bar/dining room was packed with Steelers fans. We got there just before game time and already there were no tables available, but a nice couple at a high top by the bar let us put our drinks on their table. Steelers fans are so friendly! (when your party contains other Steelers fans...). By halftime, a number of tables cleared out, and we snagged one for some food.

Decent selection of beers on tap. Large menu with lots of standard bar options. Food came out very quickly. We got the buffalo wings, cheese fries, and app sampler (mozz sticks, onion rings, popcorn shrimp), and all were executed very well. Even though the place was packed, the waitress was extremely attentive, checking on us every 10 minutes or so to make sure glasses were full and everyone was happy. They really executed everything like a well oiled machine - the bar, kitchen, and waitresses never got backed up at all.

It was an exciting game and everyone was into it, screaming and jumping out of seats and high five-ing and waving terrible towels. Quite the atmosphere.

Of course, after the game, the average age of the patrons dropped about 20 years and there were plenty of muffin tops and whale tails to go around. Didn't stay too much longer after that, fearing the next step was going to be cheesy dance music with barely legal, overweight, and under dressed co-eds.

So if you happen to be a Steelers fan, I would highly recommend Roggie's for all your football watching needs.

I ordered through foodler delivery service, which is great, BTW, however, I dont think this really had any influence at all on the quality of the food. The bottom line; the food sucked, almost inedible. I ordered buffalo chicken wings (hot), grilled chicken caesar salad, and the chicken gyro.
The wings were; not hot at all (as fas as spice), really had no flavor and neither did the "blue cheese" sauce, I ate two wings and threw the rest away. The salad sucked, the chicken was Ok, but it depends on how picky you wanna be, in this case, not very, so it was edible. The lettuce itself was gross, way over dressed and still under seasoned and flavorless. The "chicken gyro" was just terrible, not even worth talking about, two bites, garbage. What a waste of my money, in fact, when I started this review I was gonna give em 1 star, but not after thinking about it, no stars.

Honestly, nothing special. If you're 21-24, more your type of place. I ducked in here to try to catch some football (afternoon games - so the place had cleared out after the Pats game ended). Food was overpriced and of mediocre quality. Service was less than that. The "ambiance" was frat boyish.

Would things have been better if my team had won their game? Roggie's is what it is: a BC bar with drink specials featuring gallons of crap beer. Cool for the undergrads, but I wouldn't bother going back again.

Not bad for a quick bite to eat if your in a hurry and don't need anything fancy.
The interior always looks kind of grimy and old.
They do have a ton of beer on tap and a pretty big menu.
Every time we've eaten here we've always gone for the safe options like pizza or buffalo chicken
Its always been ok but nothing spectacular.
The buffalo chicken pizza last night was just meh. I would have liked more chicken and less grease.
The prices are pretty reasonable which is one of the reasons it attracts a lot of BC students.
During school year I see people lining up to get in here.
Why?? Probably because of the lack of selection of bars in Cleveland Circle.
It does serve food pretty late which raises my rating to 3 stars.

I want to give this place a good review, truly but....I can't.

Waitress was good. Bathrooms were very nice and quite clean. Beer selection and pricing was OK. Those are the only nice things I can say about this place.

We went late night, ordered an appetizer sampler #1 and it was GOD AWFUL. All three items in our sampler tasted like...fried friedness. Good fried food can be wonderful. This stuff was straight from the freezer to the frier. Probably got it all in frozen boxes at Costco. So bland. So gross. So....disappointing. When you're out for latenight beers you really want it to hit the spot. This. No.

Plus the place attempts to have ambiance and completely fails. I don't know what they were going for. There's like...an attempt to have this brushed alluminum garage-like deconstructed feel but then they have this spongepainted pinkish peach wall think going that reminds me of my mother's powder room. And then the facade is hardcore traditional Irish pub. And the tables and chairs are the kind I'd expect at one of those tiny hole in the wall mostly-for-takeout Chinese joints.

Nothing about this place commended itself to me. I don't know why anyone would go out of their way to go there when there are so many other places in this area worth going out of your way for. Maybe, MAYBE, if you live across the street or something.

I only sat down to eat here once, years ago. I don't remember much about the experience, except that I liked the decor and the server flirted with my guy friend like it was her job. Maybe it was.

Ever since, I've ordered delivery (sorry, I can't really stomach the BC scene). When I ate chicken, I was happy to declare that Roggies had one of the best chicken ceasar wraps around.

We ordered again tonight. I ordered mozzarella sticks as my dinner (yeah, I know, not healthy) and a sandwich for tomorrow. The side salad that came with the sandwich was very, very good.

I moved the sandwich when I tried some of the salad, and I noticed it was cold and soggy. It had apparently been marinating in the juice from the pickle next to it during the ride to my place. Don't get me wrong; I love pickles and it's great that they included one, but it might have been best if they had separated it from the rest of the food. Pickles are garnishes, not flavor additives. I mean, have you ever had pickle ice cream or key pickle pie? I didn't think so. There's a reason.

The mozzarella sticks were cold. This is one of my pet peeves; I don't mind reheating leftovers, but reheating food that's just been delivered irks me. If I wanted to cook, I wouldn't have called for delivery. Part of the fun of delivery is not having to go near the oven. So many restaurants in the Boston area can get food to a house while still warm, if not hot. Why can't Roggies?

Note though, the other person who went in on the order said that his sub was the best he's had in this city.

I guess I'd call it a mixed bag. Some things are great, some are mediocre, and they really need to figure out a way to keep delivery food warm and not smelling/tasting like a Vlasic warehouse.

This place is great because they have those huge Budzillas or whatever. Basically, you are able to have a table keg sitting there whenever you need a refill. The beers are also quite cheap. The food is not that great but some things are decent. The taco salad is a favorite of mine.

If you get there before 7pm, you can get $1.50 beers and 30 cent wings, which are decent. I had a turkey club recently and was not impressed at all. Also, their fries smell like DONUTS. Seriously??? I did not like them and agree with others, they were soggy. I also had cream of broccoli soup here and there were florets floating in my bowl. Not so sure how they interpreted that recipe...? The carrot cake was actually quite delicious and I am sure it was store-bought but I didn't care.

The service is not the best but what can you expect from college students? Our server forgot my soup for awhile but didn't forget to be on her mobile phone with her friends for 5 minutes.

Being that I love Roggie's on the Avenue, it's going to be a given that I enjoy this place. It's within walking distance of my place, it has the same aura as 'The Ave,' and it has the same cheap beer... only during happy hour, though. $1.50 drafts during that precious 4pm-7pm window, so it's all good, but usually I get too drunk to be in the mindset to leave, and then it starts to hit the wallet hard at $2.50 for the rest of the night... oops.

Anyways, besides that, the only other complaint I have of this place is that the sound from their many TVs (much appreciated) is NOT synchronized at all, with ANY of the TVs on the wall. This is incredibly annoying.

But for a good pre-game spot during happy hour, I'm more than happy to meet up with a few friends at this place. Put the permanent $1.50 price tag on your beer drafts and fix the sound from your TVs, and I'll be a regular here.

*Sigh* Roggies, I had no expectations entering your establishment, and yet you still managed to really disappoint me.

Thursday night, Sox and Patriots are on, I'm short on cash, my friend lives near Cleveland Circle... he recommends another place just down the B line, but I find you on http://Restaurant.com and persuade him to go here instead. I now realize this was a big mistake on my part, and for that I have some making up to do to my friend! At least I only paid $3 for your $25 certificate - it's about all it was worth.

We came in, were able to be seated fairly quickly, and started to look over the menu. Hrm... must spend at least $35.... what looks good on this menu that will help get us to that $35 mark... ooh, filet mignon? Seriously? Yes, you're on the menu... hrm... I wonder how you'll be... lets find out. I ask for the filet medium rare with a side of mashed potatoes and the stir fry veggies. A little while later, out comes some kind of thin-looking like it's been beaten form of meat. Now, everyone knows that filet is supposed to be round, and thick.... this was neither. What IS this? *poke* hrm. Let me cut into this thing.... wow....... well done. Not only does it not look like a filet, it's not even cooked right. Back to the kitchen it goes.

During the time that they're making me another steak, I say to my friend that I would bet money on the fact that the next steak that is brought out is going to be rare. I assume this because I think they're going to be afraid of overcooking it again, and I've now lost any confidence in the chef to be able to prepare a steak with skill and finesse.

Out comes steak.... what do you know. Rare. Very rare in some places, and almost medium-rare in other places. Whatever. I'm hungry, starving at this point, so I'm just going to eat it. The manager came over to ask how it was, so I told him that it was not cooked long enough this time, but I was just going to keep it. As he backed away from the table he said they were here to serve. Really? Ok. Thanks, but I've seen this happen before... first one is too well done, second one is too rare, then they try to fix and it comes back well done again... not a pretty picture. We still gave the waitress a good tip though, not her fault that the kitchen screwed up... and on the whole she wasn't horrible. Service could have been a bit better, but compared to the kitchen snafu it was minor.

The decor is odd, a mixture of a lot of different things, and the clientele was young. Think early 20s, college kids, playing cards and drinking games at the tables. Yep, true story. If I was in my early 20s, in college, and just wanted to drink - this might not be such a bad place.... but other than that, really no reason that I can see to go here. But, now I know... live and learn, right? At least you, Mr/Mrs Yelper can learn from my experience, and head elsewhere.

A confused version of TGIFridays.

The food is average. The prices are average. The beers are even average and I only drink Miller Lite. The service generally is average at best. The amount of TVs is nice.

BUT

What is the deal with the weird DJ? Not a person dancing and the guy is there ever time I go.

Roggie's probably deserves 1 1/2 stars

Definitely a bar for the younger crowd, but always a good time! The BudZillas keep the beer fresh and cold, without needing to wait for the waitress, but usually they are quick and friendly anyway. All the normal pub fare is delicious, but the real surprise is in how good the menu is! Mexican, Pizzas, a little bit of Greek, and some great salads and pastas, you'll always find something to eat.

Summers are great because the windows are always open, the 360*'s of TV's constantly have the Sox playing, and the college crowd has thinned out.

This is just a review for their downstairs, where they have live music. It's a nice large space but their acoustics aren't too good.

I am also still suffering from residual buyer's remorse after paying a whopping $2.10 for a Diet Coke. And Diet Coke never quite tastes right when it comes out of those hose things at a bar. What a rip off.

Quick delivery for average-at-best food. May have been the worst chicken parm sub I've ever eaten, actually, and that's saying a lot considering that a chicken parm sub is basically my all-time "safe order", and I've probably had about a hundred in my life. After a few more delivered items made their way promptly from my mouth to stomach to a place other than my body, I decided that perhaps delivery wasn't the best plan and that maybe I would give the place a try in person.

Oh hai, BC kids! Everywhere! Swarming the place. Don't they know about delivery? Teehee.

The food was actually better in person. And by better, I mean that I didn't immediately hurl or have a day of massive stomach problems after eating the food there. I guess that's progress, and who could argue with progress?

(Non-resident! If I'm totally ignorant about the area and this bar, please don't hate me!)

This appears to be a big Boston College bar, and I can see why. Great beer selection, good food prices. They also appear to be great about keeping things local. I went after helping out at a race at BC, and Roggie's had donated a lot to the auction, which was very much appreciated! Also, they put in the BC football game on top volume. So, uh, not a place for quiet conversation.

Regardless, good bar food (I don't have to feel too bad about devouring nachos the way I did when there were ten of us there, right? For two plates? Totally acceptable, right?), and really, the help with the auction was so much appreciated that this place firmly earns four stars, when I only ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. Now that is saying something.

Roggie's is fantastic despite the slightly dingy, college hangout kind of look it has going on.

I went last week for my "birthday dinner " (we couldn't find anywhere else to go) with my family and had a blast. The servers were friendly and accommodated my immediate request to sit in front of the TV with a hockey game on (Devils vs. Penguins). Even better was that the TVs were all on different stations so I got the Red Sox game and later the Bruins game as well. Can we tell I'm a sports bar kinda gal?

Anyway, it was not loud at all even though we were there on a Saturday night. Even my Dad agreed and he thinks a LOT of places are loud.

I ordered the tortellini alfredo (not sure if that is what it is on the menu but I digress). My food was delicious and honestly, I was surprised about how much I liked it considering the fact that the menu is extensive and all of the place. It consists of everything from American to Italian to Mexican. Anyone could be happy. My parents liked their food as well so overall we were happy to find a reasonably priced place where the birthday girl could watch three games at once. What else do you need?

Perhaps it may be worse when more college kids filter in but honestly, the one who was there with his dad also watch the hockey game was total eye candy so Roggie's was a win for me!

If you aren't a current student at BC or don't find it totally overwhelming to leave the Cleveland Circle bubble, there's really no reason to go to Roggie's.

The food is meh. Something about the veggie burger is weird and bland. I wanted a side of guacamole, but the waitress told me not to get it because it's often old and gross. That's never a good sign.

You can get Roggie's bowls (pitchers) of Long Island's for $25 (i think) which is economical. Star for that, I guess.

Friday happy hour...so overwhelming, in a very bad way. The place is packed full of BC undergrads by 5. I have friends who go at 3, just to get a table. People are there merely to get drunk for cheap. Even so reallyyyyy not my scene.

Trivia is horrible. The TVs really aren't that easy to see; definitely not the ideal place to watch a game.

I have a confession to make. I think I might like the yeah dudes. Can we still be friends?

Stopped in here one Saturday night for some food and drinks and to watch some college basketball with a friend.

We made the chilly walk over from her house, and the place was bustling when we got there. Lots of BC fans/students grabbing some food and beer before the nearby BC Hockey game.

We were seated in a strange spot, practically on top of the DJ's post (though he wasn't there). Ordered some drinks, and an appetizer, with the plan of ordering some "real food" later on. I had to send my first beer back, because it wasn't what I ordered.

We chowed on some very tasty nachos, and I watched while my 33-year-old friend drooled over her favorite 18-year-old player on screen. Yeah, she likes 'em young. Don't worry, we discussed that she's practically old enough to be his mother. She's ok with it.

For some reason, it was even colder in the bathroom than it was outside. I'm not sure what that's all about, but seriously, work on making it at least 50 degrees in there. I can understand not wanting people to dawdle in there, but when I'm afraid that I'm going to get hypothermia from the couple minutes that I'm in there, that's bad.

We didn't end up ordering any more real food (those nachos were filling), and since we had been there for a while and our check was so low, our waitress received a ridiculously high percentage tip for not giving us attitude for taking up one of her tables while the game was finishing up, She was good people. The Bruins game was about to start and with like a minute left to go in the bball game we were watching, the hostess changed the channel. Umm, what? Seriously? You're not going to let us watch the last minute of the game? Rude.

And somehow, despite all the negatives I've pointed out above, I really liked this place. I liked the vibe. I liked the music selection. I liked the energy. I liked the other folks who were hanging out. I liked the hot guy sitting a few tables away that I couldn't help but stare at for most of the time we were there.

I think this is the kind of place that would have earned a lot of my money during my college days had BC actually accepted me. Unfortunately for them, I (most of the time) don't drink nearly as much as I did then (aka a lot).

All in all, a good place to watch a game.

All you need to know about Roggie's: Happy hour from 4-7, 25 cent wings and $1 drafts. Love it.

Went last night for the first time with some BC friends and really enjoyed it. The wings were good, and obviously cheap, and I liked the bustling atmosphere. It would be a great place to watch a game with some friends. The service might have been a little slow, but it was really busy, so what do you expect...

Sometimes when I don't want to get home 8 hours after I get on a B line train I take the C or D line and get off in like 20 minutes. Since I have to walk up Chestnut Hill Ave I always pass by Roggie's. My BF and I decided on the spur of the moment to try this place.

There was a BC game on.....mistake number 1.

It took the watiress about 10 minutes to get our drink orders because at the time we were not 21 so could not order beer. It then took another 15 minutes to get our food orders. Now....I've been a waitress, so if you're busy I can understand. But if your just standing at the bar watching the game and not paying attention to your tables, that's going to annoy me. I would yell at you, but I know what goes on at restaurants and I don't feel like having my food spit on.

The food was meh, I don't remember much of it so it couldn't have been that great. Our waitress continually treated us like we weren't there, opting to pay attention to the two guys at the table next to us.

OK, so I know that the only reason why you work here is to get guys phone numbers because you go to BC and your precious daddy pays for your everything that has to do with your life, but please don't put your ass in my face, thank you very much.

I really considered just leaving without paying. I NEVER do that, I always leave 20% no matter what. I think I left maybe $1.50 on a $25.00 check. And ever that was too much. Obviously she doesn't need the money.....

If you go to BC obviously it'll probably be a good time for you. But as I hate BC (except for the select few that I know that go there) I wouldn't be caught dead there again, at least when a game is on.

It's like... is it a bar? Is it a pizza place? Is it both together, or either separately? I just don't know...

I do know that the pizza is not so good - thick tough crust and not very cheesy - and the guys at the counter are friendly enough but really slow - one day I almost starved to death awaiting my stupid mozzarella sticks. It was like on Looney Tunes, when they go down into a cave, and there are little skeletons of travelers past who have perished = that would have been me.

And, of course, who doesn't love to pay $25 for shitty takeout. I know I do.

That being said, the BC kids seem to love this place because it's always brimming with giddy college teens. LOVE it.

The battle for pizza supremacy around BC is usually between Pino's and Presto in the Circle. But what of lowly Roggies sitting over on Chestnut Hill Ave? It has its fans, and not without cause, but I'm not one.

Here's the thing. They make a "greek style" pizza. If you like that, Roggies will probably more than satisfy you. I just don't like that style as much as an Italian style crust. Even so, I found Roggies tasty and made an ocassional trip here while in college for a change of pace. Most of the time, though, I stuck to the big 2 pizzerias in the Circle. If they weren't there, Roggies would have been a find option, but with great pizza so close, I can't look at them as anything more than a novelty.

The atmosphere is great here - it reminds me of being at college (Bryant) and going to Rente's right next door. I have to say our service was not good at all, our waitress kept forgetting things and they happened to be out certain beers and liquors that we wanted...

I got steak tips and so did my boyfriend, which were phenomenal I have to say! Don't get the beer sampler, some of them taste like they've been sitting in a keg for a LONG time.

I live right down the street, so if I don't go back for the tips, then definitely for convenience... and how could I forget the cheap Bud drafts!

I usually just get takeout pizza from Roggie's. I think their pizza is one of the best in town in fact. So I give the place four stars mostly for the pizza.

I've eaten in a few times too, with mixed results. The setting is simple, with several TVs for sports. The crowd is young, many from Boston College I assume.
