Went here because, well, there aren't a lot of options in Denmark (I've been to Whipp's, and will try Suster's soon...) Â Glad we did. Â It's a pretty typical Wisconsin bar and restaurant, verging on sports bar. Â The game was on, people were yelling, the music was loud. Â Hey, it was Friday night. Â So what if it was Good Friday? (They were closed on Easter, though.) Â
The food was amazing. Â My brother had steak and lobster, both of which were darn good. Â I had a combo with fried perch, cod, shrimp, and frog legs. Â The perch was obviously fresh, and I'm pretty sure the frog legs were too. Â Both were awesome. Â The cod and shrimp were just good. Â Came with homemade tartar sauce, homemade potato salad and cole slaw, etc. Â Oh, and Baumeister root beer on tap. Â Only minor letdown was the pepperjack curds. Â Though served with a good (homemade?) dipping sauce, they were just average.
Service was friendly. Â Seems like half the town was there, either working or drinking. Â Just as we were wondering what they had for dessert, one of the guys came around with free plates of very good brownies. Â
The next day we had a family gathering, so ordered some stuff to go from here.  The orders were all right, everything was good, and  there weren't any leftovers.  I don't think I could keep up with the Wisconsin diet for long, but for short bursts it's great.
