I wish there were a zero star option. I made the mistake of coming here last year for my birthday.  I was walking to the Tiki Bar with my boyfriend, and one of the bouncers slid his hand up the back of my shorts, in an attempt to grab my butt. He was a big guy, I would estimate he weighed as much if not more than my boyfriend and I combined. My boyfriend asked him (calmly, with no threats) to apologize. Instead of apologizing, the bouncer and 2 of his bouncer friends beat him continuously. The punched him, bodyslammed him, kicked him, stomped on him, and pummeled him, putting him in the hospital.  He now has permanent injuries that he will have to deal with for the rest of his life. Anyone who tried to help was restrained by other bouncers. My boyfriend was dragged out (literally), and I followed. While waiting for the ambulance to arrive, the owner came  out. He was extremely rude and unhelpful, and threatened to have me thrown in jail for speaking against him.

I'm writing this now because I've noticed that all the bad reviews of this business have been filtered, and only good ones are visible. I hope that  does not happen to this one.  And to the people of YELP - please let me know if you would like me to provide proof. I do not want this review taken down. People need to know. Their safety is at risk.

Yes, the drink specials are cheap. But ultimately, it is not worth the cost of the bodily harm and sexual harassment that you risk by going there.

Well I've been a few times on the weekend when I'm in a country music line dancin' kind of mood. Be aware it gets packed shoulder to shoulder on Fridays which is the sign of a popular place but a little claustrophobic for me at times. Sink or swim specials are available often and they have had some great bands play there. Also pool tables and darts to keep yourself entertained if dancing isn't your thing. Be prepared for quite a night if you're going to round up

How does this place only have 4 reviews? They ROCK!!!!!! If you love country, u will love it. If you don't love country, don't worry they play some hip hop songs too. If you like to line dance, you will LOVE this place. The line dancing classes are very helpful and cheap. The instructor is very thorough and lets you practice many times. Friday nights are great cuz they aren't TOO packed so you can get a spot on the dance floor and they have $1 bud lites. Saturdays get so crazy packed that I can't stand it. So if you like space to move around, stick to Friday. Also at 11pm on weekends, there is a food truck guy outside who grills the BEST chicken sandwiches and hot dogs, etc. The only thing I don't like is i always smell like smoke when I leave. But it's such a good time I don't mind it. And they tend to play the same songs over and over but I just avoid the radio during the week and then i look forward to their music.

As their slogan says...The Round Up is the good time your momma warned you about!! And it really is!!! They have the best Thursday Ladies Night in Tampa Bay! They DON'T try to scam you by telling you ladies drink free and then give you tickets & cut it off at 1am (like the bull does)  Ladies really DRINK FREE ALL NIGHT @ The Round Up. Even if you're not a huge fan of country music, you'll have a great time here, it's one of those bars that you'll just have fun at. People come from all over Tampa Bay (me & my friends used to drive from USF to go here) and there is always a ton of cute guys AND girls there! Plus they have awesome bar staff, some that have been there for 10+ years!!!

Note about Good Food on the Cheap List: Every Thurs-Sat Night (for as long as I can remember - 10+ years) a dude with a BBQ sets up out front and grills up and sells food - you MUST try the Redneck Chicken Sammy - grilled chicken breast, bbq and shredded cheddar cheese on a bun! It will prevent a hangover!

I just moved here from the West Coast so I wasn't sure what to expect.  Let's just say The Round Up proved some of my assumptions correct and blew out the few other ones completely away.  Yes, there will be plenty of cowboy hats and sharp pointy boots on lots of folks, but most of the them work there.  Many of the patrons paying the cover are both young and old and don't always look like they stepped out of a John Wayne movie.  The earlier you get there the better chance you have of learning the line dances that go along with the songs.  Many of the dances range from ridiculously easy to pretty complicated.  Yes it helps to have some kind of coordination but once you get a few $1.50 Budweiser's in you it doesn't seem to matter a whole lot.  The girls are pretty and willing to cut a rug with most any guy willing to ask.  The later it gets the younger the crowd becomes until you find yourself packed in pretty good.  The dance floor takes up most of the building and there are three separate bars with very kind people behind them to help you get your drink on.  If you hang around long enough on the weekends, The Round Up turns into just a regular dance club playing everything from The Scissor Sisters to Tone-Loc which both surprised me and left me a little disappointed.  I guess I wanted the authentic, Southern cowboy bar experience the whole night through.  But then again, I'm not sure what that even is.  Either way, The Round Up  is worth the trip for the cheap drinks and good looking crowd  alone.  And what the heck, wear your cowboy hat anyway.

If you're into the country music line dancing/bar scene - this is definitely the hot spot in town.
Dont' know if I agree w/ the most beautiful women in town, but definitly some of the most scantily dressed women for sure!  Very young crowd (I'm talkin jailbait), esp since they dont' card till 9 or 10pm.  So if you're a baby - slip in before then :-D
I'm not really into the crowd, but I have friends who are and I've even been dragged over there by my parents.  Apparently, there is a large group of older asians (and non-asians) who like to line dance and go every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Satrudays for classes around 6pm.  I know this because on those days, my mother serves dinner at 5pm so she can make it over there :-P
