Sage was definitely delicious and I will go there again. Â I had the chicken marsala which was amazing in every way, and my boyfriend had the salmon which was equally delicious. Â The crab cakes appetizer was absolutely AMAZING. Â My only complaints are: Â the menu was very limited; no steaks were available at all. Â Also, as far as desserts go, the only two that were available didn't require teeth or a fork. Â I will be returning, because what I ate was absolutely delicious, but I hope the menu offers more options next time.
Review Source:We just tried out Sage a few days ago. My husband & I have an affinity for upper scale, trendy restuarants. The food was decent; however, the service was horrible. I am sure that is not everyone's experience; however, we are not "traditional." My husband is African-American and I am white- both professionals who work in higher education. My friend & her husband met us there- she is Mexican and her husband is white (also both professionals). From the moment we were seated, we we treated indifferently by pretty much all of the staff. The service staff tried to rush us out of there, even asking my friend if she wanted her food wrapped up long before she stopped eating. They served us uber-quickly, saying "I don't know why things came out so fast- sorry"... and kept trying to get us to finish up and not linger. Our server didn't offer to refill any of our drinks and tried to avoid offering dessert, saying there wasn't much to choose from (but we ordered dessert anyway!) The tab for the 2 of us was near $100, and despite the poor service- my husband still tipped 20%. In retrospect, I would given him less than 15% just for the poor treatment. The hostess stood near the door as we did finally leave, and I said "thank you" and goodbye with a smile... and she just ignored me and stared. I noticed there was another African American couple, slightly older, who came in when we did- and it appeared they were rushed out rather quickly as well, as many other people lingered. I have also had this experience at another upper scale restaurant in Chesterton, dining with my husband and my girlfriend. In fact, the waiter at that one handed ME the bill, rather than my husband or friend... not so subtle. My conclusion: dining in Chesterton is not a good idea if you are anything but Caucasian. My son can be president... but he can't eat in Chesterton IN. I am very disappointed, and embarrassed for people that still behave this way.
