Just tried this place and definitely worth me making a couple comments on it. I sat at the bar and the whole staff was very professional and attentive even when it was fully packed during a bruins game. The food was great as well, always ask for the specials because they tend to have some some great off menu plates.

I finally had an opportunity to go Salvatore's for an early dinner on Friday evening. I have heard of the great food and service and was expecting the same. The service was mediocre and the food was terrible.  I ordered the steak tips dinner and ordered a beer. I was served the beer bottle with no glass - not what I would expect from a place that tries very hard to be "classy." The moist glass that I received was disgustingly dirty with a hair on it. I drank from the bottle instead. The steak tips arrived full of gristle - not fat - gristle, and were very dry. The french fries were burnt and the side of coleslaw was served warm.  The music selections were schizophrenic.  Well Salvatore's this was my first and last time ever in this restaurant.

Although I said I would never go back to Salvatore's, I had the unfortunate luck to have to attend a work lunch there. It was just as bad as the first time three years ago I went. Parking around there is a serious pain. When we first walked in,  there was no one at the host station when we walked in and another person was already waiting to be seated and two more people came in after our group. Service was just as slow as hell as before - about 30 mins waiting for our food to come out and this was lunch - most of the food was sandwiches and salads...at one point we joked that they were growing the lettuce to make a coworkers salad. We had to ask what the hold up was. My order was wrong, my coworker got this tiny portion that was't even worth the price, and another coworker's knife and fork were dirty. The food is still bland and boring; not worth the price. The restaurant has the facade of being fancy and nice but every other element of this restaurant falls short.

    I agree with terrible service
We spent 3 1/2 hours for dinner.  We had wine bottles so it wasn't complicated for the waitress .
Dinner took long after appetizers  were finished , and I noticed that when the waitress asked if we wanted coffee she didn't take our dessert order as well. Serving coffee and cappuccino took 20 min and the she took dessert order.    Another 20 min.  I thought she was
new but told us she has been there since it opened,
I noticed a lot of yelpers saying bad service which comes down to poor management .  These girls are not trained .  I also heard the owner spends most of his time in the Boston establishment . I hope he knows what's going on since many people seem to say the same thing.
I got seafood stew which was just ok

My wife and I had a family get together there in celebration of our daughter's first communion. They made great accommodations letting us come at 11am, serving us family style, and being very patient with our children milling around. The food was great and the service was good too.  Definitely a fan and will be back. Will definitely have them top of the list for any future family events.

Having just moved to the Medford Square area I have been excited to try out the new spots, and despite the negative reviews here, I had a really enjoyable visit to Salvatore's on a Sunday evening with my husband. Ambiance-wise, this exactly the kind of place Medford Square needs, with it's dark wood walls, clean linen-covered tables, intricate chandeliers, and mood lighting. I imagine in a different neighborhood it might be more crowded and enjoyed, but it definitely offers a more upscale option for dining in the area.

On my visit the service was attentive, friendly, and quick. The prices are a bit on the expensive side, which is fine for a special night out. Dishes ran in the $18-$30 range. I personally loved my butternut squash ravioli with figs and sweet potatoes. The ravioli was home made, and the sauce and dig combination made a wonderful mix of sweet and savory that was truly delicious. My husband thought is bolognese pasta was okay. He loved the noodles, but didn't care for gamey taste of veal mixed in the sauce. I suppose it's an acquired taste..If you want some drinks, they are made strong here, so you'll definitely get ample alcohol content for the price. I really wanted to try their nutella pizza dessert, but they ran out on the day we came, so we settled for the chocolate mousse cake which hit the spot.

Due to the prices, I probably won't be back here again soon, but it's definitely worth a visit if you haven't tried it yet. Order wisely, go at an off-peak time, and you should have a good experience.

Agreed, Salvatore's is not the North End, but the pizza and burgers are good.  The place has great atmosphere and decor.  Salvatore's is a great place to meet up for a cocktail, or for keeping a date night local.  Also, it's a convenient location for a business lunch, especially with the parking lot off of Governors Ave. right behind the restaurant.

After deciding to not go into the city, but still wanting some good Italian we decided to try Salvatore's. I had been once before and wasn't super impressed...service was slow and the food was mediocre. I really tried and wanted to like this place because of its great location, easy parking and nice atmosphere; but sadly that didn't happen. We went without a reservation on a Saturday night and there was a 15-20 minute wait for the two of us (which on a Saturday night at 8pm is expected). There was really no where to stand to wait, and alot of the people waiting were standing an arm's length from two tables trying to enjoy their meal. It was awkward and you felt in the way of servers getting by.

After about 15 minutes, we were seated in the bar area at a high top table. Not my first choice for wanting to enjoy a quiet meal, especially with the loud band that started to play. It would have been nice if they asked us if the bar area was okay, but I guess beggars can't be choosers. After about 5-7 minutes we were greeted by a gentleman who filled our water glasses and said our waitress would be right over. After another 5 minutes our waitress came and took our drink order. The drink menu was decent, but nothing that really grabbed my attention. I ordered the Peach Cosmo, which tasted more like cranberry juice with vodka and strangely had a strawberry on the glass. The drink was okay, but nothing I would order again.

The menu had a decent selection of various Italian pasta items, as well as pizza and bistro type food. I decided on the Butternut Squash Raviolis and my friend got the Stuffed Chicken Parm. The waitress failed to bring us bread, which we really would have liked with the drinks and was MIA for most of the time we were waiting for the food. Another another waiter brought over our meals within about 20-25 mins of ordering. Our waitress did show up after we got our meals, asking how things were, but failing to ask if you wanted a refill on water or cheese for our pasta. Overall, the dinner was just okay. The ravioli sauce was very salty, but did have a nice flavor. Portion wise it was pretty average, not enough to have leftovers by any means.

Overall, this place does have a lot of potential but needs alot of work. Their customer service is average to poor. Simple things like refilling water glasses and checking in with people are easy but make the experience more enjoyable. I don't think I'll be going back for awhile....

I'm from out of town and this place was close to the hotel where I was staying at. I was looking forward to some good old Italian food and hospitality. So we decided to give this place a try. Boy I was wrong about the hospitality part! No one wanted to seat us...they stared at us like they've never seen an Asian before!  They didn't even bother to take our name down they just said wait by the bar and if there's something at the bar you can sit there. Once something opens up before the bar we will seat you. We waited for 20mins and we just said forget this we're ordering take out then. The food is okay...and that is all I have to say about this place.

Great place for drinks and Italian food. We live a 20 minute walk away, so it's our go to spot when we don't want to take the train into the city.

I wish I could say that I went back and found that things had improved but sadly I can't say that.  I mentioned the service problem to one of my neighbors and was told that she always sits at the bar and gets excellent service.  So I did go once in the late afternoon and sat at the bar with a friend and had excellent service from the bartender but we were the only patrons in the place.  The food was great and we had a good time.

I was encouraged so I went back at 9 p.m. on a Thursday night with another friend.  The music in the bar was really loud so we asked the host if it would be a problem were we to sit a table but only have drinks and apps.  No problem, he assured us, and showed us to a nice table in a quieter part of the place.  And then nothing happened.  Nothing.  No one ever came to take our order.  After a while I got up and found the only staff person on the floor, a busboy, who came and filled our water glasses (Hurrah!) but said he couldn't take our order because he wasn't old enough.  He said he'd find our waiter.

We saw him go and talk to several people who looked like waiters and point to us but still, no one came to our table.  One waitress walked by, head down, put a check on a table near us, ignored us when we called to her, and kept walking.

So we left and went to Carroll's down the street where service was excellent.

Good, not bad, not great... same with service.. It's really nice inside, and for larger parties book the vault, fun place to eat considering the history.. Decent sized portions,   some interesting apps, some of which are very good, try the pesto gnocci, or calamari...

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Food is bland and the service atrocious. Why ANYONE would frequent this restaurant with the plethora of choices for Italian food in the area is beyond me.

My husband and I spent a very pleasant evening here. The restaurant is lovely. We sat at a window  table for two next to the fireplace. Our server was  friendly. We ordered drinks (which were delicious) and had a small pizza for an appetizer. Our dinners were good. I had the lobster risotto special and it was delicious!
    We will definitely be back.

    Positives:
    Setting and ambiance
    Food and drinks

    Negative:
Service is a bit slow, which was fine with us. But if you are hungry or in a rush, I can understand the complaints of other reviewers

Great menu but disappointing food.  I had a dinner special: salmon medallions, artichoke and asparagus pasta.  Very average at best.

The waitress never offered grated parmesan nor did she check to see if everyone's food was okay.

It could be she didn't know what to do after my 95 year old aunt didn't want the food she ordered even though we kept what was ordered.  The waitress didn't ask if she wanted to order anything else....nothing.

Talk about lack of service.  It suffices to say, she did not get my 'standard' 20% tip.

I recently ate here and had veal piccata  While the veal was tasty, there wasn't enough of it for the price.

My rating for Salvatore's would be a very generous 2 stars.  I'm sorry I really wanted to like this place as I have a soft spot for Italian food but this was not good.

I ordered the Haddock Livornese and this dish is having a serious identity crisis.  The vegetable its served with is, I'm guessing, shredded squash, and the potatoes are essentially just boiled in water and seasoned lightly with S&P.  Pair those with a grilled haddock in a very light sauce with tomatoes, and salty capers and k olives and you have a dish of WTF is going ON here?  1 star

My girlfriend ordered the Eggplant Parm and this was mediocre.  You can tell the sauce has way too much tomato paste, and this is a clear indicator when you start getting a ketchup-y taste in a tomato sauce.  The rigatoni was undercooked and hard.  I really don't understand how you undercook a noodle if you taste it before taking it out of the pot of boiling water.  1.5 stars

The bartender had no idea what a Dark and stormy is, brought out a very poorly made cocktail that tasted like I was taking straight shots of rum.  I then explained to the waittress after she asked me how its made, how to make a dark and stormy, and round two was no better.  0 stars.

The restaurant itself is very nice and casual. I really liked the atmosphere and the bar is huge.  3 stars.  It wasn't too loud and we were able to have conversations, which is always a plus in my book.

Time well spent in the vault!

Great space for private parties with the private dinning room that use to be the vault when this place was a bank. 12 of us had a great time, service, and food.

    I would highly recommend.

I really like it here. Food always great. I love the butter nut ravs. It is made with figs in a gorgonzola cream sauce. Yum! Most of the staff is great.( had a bad experience with one of the host) only thing I don't really care for is the woman singing that night was letting patrons/ friends sing rat pack era tunes. They sucked.

I have been to Salvatore's about 6 times since it opened and I want to give it a great review because the food really is good, and I mean that sincerely but every time I go the service is absolutely horrendous. Every time I have gone here I have received painfully slow service even with different party sizes.  Moreover, I have experienced every possible thing that could be wrong with the staff here, from a 15 minute wait to get a table when the restaurant was empty, to several different rude servers, a half hour (not exaggerating) wait to get a refill on a drink and to get the complimentary  bread. Lastly, I have even received the incorrect order (veal parm instead of chicken).

In sum, Salvatore's is really frustrating because it does have great food, and the few times I have been at the bar, the staff has been pretty good but the awful wait staff kills the whole dining experience.

I have to say, I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews here. I told the bf to set his expectations low for the service, but we were pleasantly surprised - we were greeted the minute we walked in by a very conscientious host, he was completely welcoming and professional and told us there would be a 20 minute wait (which we expected on a Saturday night anyway).  We opted to wait at the bar, where the service was also quick and painless, despite only one bartender being on an almost full bar.  The host even came back to check on us and make sure we'd want the table he'd selected before setting it for us.

Once seated, the waitress was prompt as well, friendly and quick to get everything we asked for.  We split the bruschetta for an appetizer ... three pieces of bread is a little stingy, but it was tasty.  The bf got the chicken parm, which he raved about, and I had the chicken broccoli alfredo, which was very good as well.  I had expected HUGE portions from some other reviewers' comments, and was excited to have leftovers, but I wasn't that impressed by the size of the plate - I ate the whole thing in one sitting (which is rare for me to be able to do). But all in all, a solid Italian meal at a decent price.

This place has so much potential!!! It's a shame. Salvatore's looks like a 5 star restaurant and maybe that's why it gets such mediocre/crappy reviews. I imagine that people expect good service and food because it's clear that the owners put in the effort in building the place out.

I've found most of these previous reviews to be spot on.

    The good:
    -Terrific layout and interior design
-Huge wood bar with great TV's
-Chicken parm, eggplant parm, arugula salad, some specialty pizzas
-Event staff is very attentive and menu options are great (the building was a bank previously and owners built an awesome room in the vault you can rent for private events)

    The bad:
    -Service
I've found the service to be consistently slow. Every time I'm there I have to wait for a menu. Host tried to seat my party in the bar area while there were booths and tables open everywhere. Server didn't know the risotto of the day. Got a bottle of white wine and they just left it on the table, with no chiller.
    -Price
For the money you spend there I feel like it's reasonable to expect and at least satisfactory service staff. I would also higher quality food.

    Overall:
-This place could easily make a TON of money if they would bring in some professional bar and wait staff. If you look at the reviews most of the complaints are around service.

    Good luck Salvatore's!

    Dear Salvatores,

I really want to love you.  Your food is delicious.  But you waitstaff is terrible... like an hour and a half for two glasses of wine and two salads terrible.  Consistently poor service.  With all the complaints about service, I wonder why you don't do something about it.

With that said, I still order on average 3 salads a week from Salvatore's because they are delicious.  I have enjoyed every other food item I have gotten there as well.  On Thursday nights, they have fast paced trivia, which is great for those of us who are out of college and actually have to go to work tomorrow.

I have been here numerous times as I knew the previous GM.  The service is probably up there with some of the worst I have seen.  Extremely slow, rude, getting the order incorrect are a few examples of the service.

However, I have tried almost everything on the menu besides the seafood and thought everything was generally good.  The parmesan chicken tenders are awesome as well as the Chicken Parm rigatoni entree are my favorites.  Of course the pizza is very very good.

Overall, locally one of the nicer places around for setting and food but the service needs to be improved.

I ate lunch for a business meeting at Salvatore's yesterday... we split a pizza, which was great. I enjoyed the pizza.

The atmosphere is nice! High ceilings, dark wood features... I really liked it.

What I didn't like was our service. Our waitress wasn't as horrible as other reviews suggest, but she wasn't very personable at all. She did get our drinks and do things in a timely manner, but was just not very friendly (but she wasn't exactly rude either).

So, my advice to Salvatores restaurant based on my one time visit (and from the reviews I have read)... Work on your customer service.

Besides that, it looks like a great place to sit, watch a game, go out with friends and have some drinks.

6/21/12: just ate there again for lunch today. Ordered the salmon salad and calamari appetizer... both were not that great. The salad was $12 and was tiny! And the calamari was chewy as hell...

Booo!  Mediocre food that tastes like it was pulled from the freezer and zapped in the microwave moments before plating.

I had high hopes and while my first visit shortly after they opened was impressive every trip back show up worse than the previous.  I get the same plate; steak tips at the bar.  The first time I got 6oz+ of juicy tips with a heaping salad and crispy, hot fries.  Subsequent visits featured dried out, smaller portions of everything.  Service is hot and cold.  Last time I visited the bartender HAD a cold.  Sneezing and coughing like a champ and not washing hands before serving was interesting to watch.  I almost didn't eat my meal...

The space is quite nice.  There are dark woods, cozy sitting areas, a fireplace and even the historic vault with memorabilia from days gone by.  However it's the food and service that we are there for, right?

    Too bad.

Went here for dinner with two friends on a Saturday night.  The decor is really lovely, lots of dark wood, vintage European ads on the walls, a large, swanky bar in the middle of the restaurant, and leather booths..  The maitre-d was also really welcoming.
I'm wondering if a previous reviewer had the same server we did; she was really strange, only brought a glass of water for one person at our table, and after I ordered wine, then my entree, she thoroughly examined the menu, and told us the wine was not available (though it was on the menu, and she "found" a bottle later), took my two friends' entree orders then started to leave our table without taking mine, and reacted to my entree order as though she didn't understand what I'd said, then scanned the menu again thoroughly, before accepting my order.  WTF?  I thought it might be a language-barrier issue, but she was English-speaking.
We ordered the calamari appetizer, which was unevenly-seasoned and a bit soggy, though the flesh was tender, and I was thrilled that they had the Michele Chiarlo Nivole (sparkling wine), which is wonderful.  My two friends split a pizza, opting for 1-half garlic/spinach and 1-half plain, and the server kept correcting them, according to her the "margherita" listed on the menu was actually "plain."  OK.  I was excited to finally try a risotto entree, Salvatore's has chicken and asparagus, with gorgonzola.
We received our entrees, and mine was burn-your-mouth-off/molten hot.. No idea why.. It was very tasty though, though the chicken was not what I'd expected, it was tenderloins, which were kind of slimy and blanched, a bit unappetizing, and sections of raw cherry tomatoes plopped in.  Random.  My friends were pleased with their pizza, and it was more than enough for two people.  We literally sat at the table for AN HOUR before the server returned.  Never even saw her the whole time.  No drink refills, no offers to pack-up our left-overs.  She shows up an hour later and asks if we want the dessert menu.  We had already been there since 8 PM, it was now 10, so we declined, because, you know, we have lives.  She offered to pack up my friend's pizza, but, again, didn't bother asking me.
The three of us provided our cards, with the amounts we wanted charged written on them.  We'd calculated the bill + tax carefully, but the server still stared confusedly at the bill, then informed us (sadly) that she could only charge the total shown on the bill.  Yeah, we know, which is why we specified the amounts, no tip included.  She seemed unable to understand what we wanted, so I finally told her to charge the amounts written on whatever two cards she ran first, and the remainder on the last.  She agreed, then brought back the bill, wherein she'd charged my friend MORE than she'd requested.  How did that happen?  Ugh.

I would go back here, because I enjoyed the food, but I'd sit in a different section, with a different server.

Came in on a Friday night with no reservations and got a seat at the bar (they do require you check in with the host stand for bar seating on some nights). The waitress was attentive but had a weird attitude, as if she was already getting us everything we asked for.

    For example:
AFTER putting in our drink orders AND dinner orders we said, "Can we get some bread?"
Response: "Um, yah. I'm bringing it right over."
As if we were stupid to not realize you get your bread after you place your order (??).

This weird, put-out attitude continued for most of the night. Never got our waters refilled, and she was only friendly when she dropped the check (shocker).

The bread was great, the drinks were good, and I had the chicken and shrimp pesto -- but if I got it again I'd get it with no shrimp since it comes tail-on and it's a bit inconvenient when it's already in your pasta and still needs work before being eaten... plus it makes the rest of the dish fish-y. Next time, double chicken. Regardless, it was still WICKED good.

    Would definitely come back.

Looks like poor Salvatore's has taken an old fashion beating during their start up phase however after dinner there last night I can tell you what ever was decidedly wrong must have improved.

I am not a real fan of the interior which has that slick chain feel to it however it was clean, noise levels make for easy conversation and the seating was comfortable. Service is excellent; we had a terrific waitress. They serve a nice thick bread with olive oil and garlic to start which was addictive. I had the sirloin pizzaiola which was a steak topped with peppers, capers, garlic and shallots. It was perfectly cooked as apparently was the linguini and clams since my brother did not leave a thing on his plate. They also serve an excellent martini which is how I judge most places.

During the early evening parking is a snap. Both of us found parking right out front. Prices are as reasonable as one can expect in Boston area which by definition means relatively expensive compared to the rest of America.

We were wary travelers staying at the Hyatt Place a few blocks down.  I used my Yelp app to find this place.  Coming in, it is nice, good ambiance.  The service was a little aloof, but the food was fantastic.  I really enjoyed the lobster ravioli, which generous heaps of lobster meat, and a delicious tomato sauce. The wine list had a good mix of wine prices, with many wines I recognized as pretty good.
I might recommend the restaurant serve meals with bread or a salad as well.  But as far as what we had, I definitely enjoyed it.

I've been here three times and all three times were generally the same. Here is a quick run down:

    1. Food- Ok. I'm not impressed nor am I disgusted. They definitely have a different style of cooking italian food but not necessarily for the better. The menu is too small. Not enough of a selection.
    2. Service- Slow. All three times I was there it was not crowded and still waited for initial "hello", menu and refills on drinks while bar staff meandered around.
    3. Ambiance- Nice but that can only carry you so far. The tv's are set way too high that it hurts your neck watching at the bar. They need to be lowered about a foot so no one breaks their neck.
    4. Hours- Not open late enough. Having a bar you should be staying open bar hours to reap the benefits instead of rolling up the sidewalks at 10pm.

One saving grace is they carry Heineken Lights so I may go back for a drink...

So the boy and I went here for a late evening dinner after deciding neither of us wanted to cook. I was excited, as this is a new location near our home, and it looked classy from the outside. When we got there, there was a live band playing in the bar section in the center. We waited on the very comfortable couch in front of the fireplace to be seated. The host was very kind.

We didn't wait long, and we were in a separate room with glass walls that blocked out most of the noise from the live band, but not the full table immediately on the other side of the glass. It was a bit like sharing our table with mimes... Our room also had speakers that were softly playing radio music, and it was a bit odd when at one point the radio and the live band were playing the same Bob Marley song.

I ordered the Linguine with Clams, one of my favorite dishes, and a Sidecar from the "martini" menu. The cocktail came first, and it was horrible, and tasted like soap, and not at all like a Sidecar should. I put it toward the edge of the table and didn't touch it. The boy ordered a Corona, and it was served in a Guinness Glass. Never mind that there was no lime, that is beer blasphemy! Only Guinness or Guinness mixes (black and tan) go in a Guinness glass.

Our meals were delivered by a runner, and the Linguine with clams was just as disappointing as our drinks.  They serve it with pancetta and chilies, which sounds interesting, but really the delicate clam flavor was overwhelmed with the brine of the pancetta, and the chilies added a very sporadic and unnecessary heat. I couldn't even taste the shellfish. It just tasted like pasta in spicy ham broth. Absolutely a waste of clams, and totally not worth the $17 price tag.

To top it off, the waitress walked by us several times, looked at our table while I tried to make eye contact about replacing the drink, and ignored us. She came back at the end of the meal with the check wallet and walked away, didn't even ask how our meal was, or acknowledge the untouched cocktail.

For the price of this establishment, I think the fare and the service are definitely lacking. I can get equal atmosphere, better food, better service within walking distance of this place, and for less money. Not worth it.

I ate here on the 2nd night they were open, with my 12 year old child. We were seated without a wait, in the vault. The vault was the scene of a notorious bank robbery perpetrated by local police officers back in 1980. The patched concrete where they broke in is visible in the corner of the vault, which is pretty darn fun to see.

The greeter was effusively friendly, but our waitress seemed disinterested in being there. We ordered a large (1 liter) Pellegrino and pasta dishes. Between the bread, ( served with spiced oil, grated cheese, and hot dried peppers) and the pasta plates (chicken broccoli Alfredo and chicken parmesan, we left stuffed.

I didn't get alcohol but there is a beautiful bar and a nice selection of drinks and wines in the menu.

The pizzas look interesting. We are fond of the huge Sal's pizzas, and the prices look totally reasonable at Salvatore's.

My son calculated that you could easily feed a family of three for $30 or have a nice dinner for two for $120, at the same restaurant. I'll be going back to sample more variety.

Pluses: decor, bar, wine list, martini list.
Minuses: value on pasta -- we'll get pizza next time, service (could improve as they work out the kinks

UPDATE: We haven't been back, but have ordered the pizza a few times.  Wonderful pizza, great value for the buck.

Based on three visits - 1x lunch 2x late dinner - I would drive here for a meal and drink, but I am living too close. It is so nice to finally have a great bar and quality food in Medford.

Food: Calamari great, shrimp very good, soup of the day ... forgot the names, but all were good ... never tried the pizza ... tiramisu was phenomenal ... just too big

Drinks: The wine list is excellent and reasonable. My favorite white is the Grüner Veltiner by the glass. Perfect with Italian food and better than the average Pinot Grigio's.

Ambience: Lunch: excellent for business meetings ... Saturday evenings: Live music, both times was of high quality. Busy, but never too crowded (yet)

    Service: Friendly and attentive.

We stumbled upon Salvatore's accidentally on a Sunday afternoon. My GF wanted Italian, and I set the GPS toward Medford, with Revere and Eastie as my secondary targets.

Cruising through downtown Medford. Hey, that place looks nice. Let's go. So we parked, went in, checked the menu and said we'd stay.

We were seated promptly and our server arrived shortly to take our drink order and offer us menus. Our waters and a cup of tea came quickly. Very good so far. Nice basket of bread with olive oil to dip it in. Our server refilled the basket for us once.

Our meals came - a very large vegetable lasagna piece for me, and haddock over linguine ($17) for my GF. The piece of haddock was huge. I ate part of it. Very, very good - cooked just right. My lasagna ($14) was also very good.

The staff was very friendly. I liked the restaurant's design - it made good use of an old bank building. I wanted to ask who their architect was.

Very positive experience overall. Salvatore's would also be a good place for me to hang out if it wasn't so far from Lexington. Well done!

Last night my friend and l wanted to try out Salvatore's, their new location in Medford . I was extremely impressed with the ambiance and the food. I ordered the chicken Parmesan and my friend ordered a salad, (woman) :-). We both shared a bottle of Pinot Noir and the desserts. The portions were so large I actually think I would've shared my friend rabbit food and still been enough for both of us :-) I highly recommend the place for casual get together with a friend or even a romantic dinner. On the plus side I honestly think every employee in that restaurant was absolutely picked because they're friendly and attractive.

Husband and I went with some of our friends who live in Medford as well.  We've been wanting to go since it opened.  Was a bit weary  about it given the inconsistent Yelp reviews, but was pleasantly surprised.

The staff was super friendly, but needs a bit more consistency.  They told me an hour when I showed up.  15 minutes later, when our friends showed up - they went and checked on the reservation and they were ready to seat us.  Yay!  Lucky us.  But not so good as most people will not usually be willing to wait an hour.

Onto the good stuff.  They had great, still drinks.  I had their Signature Mojito...delicious.  We all had appetizers, I had the Beef Carpaccio.  Yummy and did not disappoint.  The bread they served while we were waiting was warm and the dipping oil was a bit spicy and garlicky.  Just the way I like it.  All four of us were happy with our entrees.  All was made perfectly.

For dessert we ordered the Signature Dessert Pizza.  We ordered two, but one of them will suffice for four people.

We'll definitely go back again, perhaps making advance reservations.

This place should really get 5 stars by default, just for bringing a pretty awesome bar (actually, one of the only bars) to Medford Square! But I'll be fair with my review. My husband and I went to dine here on a Monday evening. We got there around 7pm and were seated right away at a booth near the bar. Our waiter Paul was also the bartender so I expected we probably wouldn't get much attention, but boy was I wrong. Everyone there was very attentive, and at one point the manager (or maybe owner? not sure..) came to ask us how their service was and if there was anything they could improve on to make the restaurant better. So in terms of service, they get about 10 stars.

Now for the food. We got a mini-Margarita pizza as a starter (they're known for their pizza so we had to try!), my husband got their chicken parm, and I got the lobster ravioli.  Their pizza was definitely better than anything you can get around here. But their chicken parm and ravioli were both just okay, not bad but not great.

Despite just opening their doors 2 weeks ago, this restaurant runs like a well oiled machine, and if anyone thinks otherwise they're are more than willing to improve.

I can't wait to go back for pizza and beer!

These people really need to get with the program. Dining hours need to be better communicated to both staff and the public!

I was excited to find out that this place had opened right down the road and was hoping to get a small bite late on Sat night. I checked the website for dining hours and it didn't have any info for the new place. So I called the location and asked when they stopped serving dinner. The woman on the phone told me that the dining room closed at 11 but you could still get food late at the bar. Perfect!

So we arrived at about 10:50. Really nice bar, and it was fairly packed so we grabbed a table and waited a few minutes. Finally someone came by (manager perhaps?) and asked us if we were planning to order food, because the kitchen is closed. HUH?? I specifically called to ask if I could get food and they told me I could. So, rather than stay and drink on an empty stomach, we got up and left.  (And had a fantastic dinner at Olde Magoun's Saloon)

Now that I know FOR SURE what the hours here are, I'll probably be back, but really! Get your folks on the same page here!

Well I am really glad then came to town as the Pizza was huge! one of the best pizza's I have ever had and still hot when my husband came home with it as we love so close. I would love for them to make a thinner crust but them maybe all of the yummy topping would not be able to stay on??

minuses-  The caramelized onions were not caramelized just pieces of chopped onions with a lot of oil on them (2.50). Also the ship was VERY skimpy I would so their was maybe 4 cut up into pieces ...and the shrimp topping is (5.25)

The wait to get in opening sat night was 1.5 waay to long and the function room wasn't even being used. They also had a band which was really loud which is why we didn't stay to eat there ( and the wait of course)
