Everyone needs a place to go, just like everyone needs to be loved.  This is not a place I would take VIP's or people who live in the bubble.   It's a humbling place.  I'll leave it at that.

We arrived about an hour before karaoke was supposed to start, but they were already going strong. The rotation was already packed, and it took about an hour to get a turn, and a second turn was about an hour and forty minutes after that one! Holy cow! Pop was doing his best, and only did the cupid shuffle once for a break, so it must have just been a busy night. We made a few friends at the table near us, and were entertained by a group of 'karaoke groupies' who would create a dancing/shots/and girl-girl makeout moments.

We were quikly told they had no food, even though some reviews said they had eaten there. We got a 'this is a BAR, feel free to bring something with you or order a pizza' from our waitress.

They have a killer rum punch, and our waitress was very attentive, even after we tabbed out.

Their karaoke guy is there Fri, Sat & Wed.. maybe Wed will be LESS busy and we can sing without such a huge wait in the middle!

BTW, the drive is not lit, so pay  it is just after a little bridge coming from I-30!

It's not often that I get a chance to party in Rockwall, but when the opportunity to jump on the best karaoke train in town (so says Nickie G.) presented itself, I jumped on it.  Quite literally.

The Scoreboard isn't typically what I would think of as a dive, since it's a pretty big space and everything is well kept, but the regulars would probably disagree with me.  And it's the regulars that make this bar so much fun.

Besides having a blast with karaoke (which, btw, is led by a cool ass granddad wielding a computer with every song known to man) I had a blast with the local crowd.  This isn't a we-don't-like-your-kind kinda bar, this is an all-aboard-the-party-train kinda bar, where you're likely to be dancing with several generations of the same family and you'll probably be invited to Thanksgiving.

Drinks were exactly like I like them - cheap and stiff as hell.  Our rounds of Coors Light and 7&7 were $7.50, which won't buy you a single cocktail at most places.  Our waitress, Shazam (I'm sure there was a real name in there somewhere) rocked our socks off and took care of us like we were her own.

The only downside was waking up the next day and feeling like I'd smoked a pack of cigarettes.  This was probably one of the smokiest bars I've ever been in and that's saying something.  Luckily for me, I was having too much fun at the time to really care.  But know that if you're sensitive to smoke, this isn't the place for you.

I'm sure I won't find myself at Scoreboard very often, but when I do, it's sure to be epic.
