This is a great local coffee shop. Rarely do you find a coffee shop that offers such a variety of choices as far as milk (regular, soy, almond, coconut). The coffee is good, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. We had mochas, lattes, and iced lattes and all were good. Every time we were in, the people working were helpful and friendly. Would go every day if we were staying closer!

Read about this place while I was scouting out local joints prior to our week vacation.  I was drawn to the many remarks of the friendly, comfortable atmosphere.  It was a perfect mile from where we were staying, so it presented itself as a perfect spot for a morning walk and coffee grab.

Well everything that was mentioned about the comfortable atmosphere was dead on.  Do yourself a favor and hang out and pick Kelly's brain for local suggestions.  They've been here for four years, and I hope they'll be here every year that we come back.

We even made it over to the Beer Garden at night for some music and relaxation.  The patio that we saw on our morning coffee run was way to inviting, and the nights that we stopped for a beer or two with other people who enjoy these kind of places was well worth it.

Very cool.  Very Outer Banks!  If you like chain coffee shops, don't bother, but you're at the Outer Banks, and this is exactly what you were looking for.

The Shack Coffee Shop and Beer Garden are my idea of a perfect beach day. Start off by getting a coffee served by the wonderful Kelly upstairs. You can even play a classic board game while you enjoy your hot drink. Now that you're awake, have some beach fun, but come back as the sun starts to settle because the Beer Garden is just as great. An impressive selection of craft beers and the cool service from Matt will greet you. The decor includes an ambulance door/beer cooler and a beautiful wood bar. This place and its two wonderful owners are what I think of as the day of my vacation approaches. You owe it to yourself to stop by for two Brews and a perfect day.

The owners of the Beer Garden are just great. The whole place had a wonderful vibe and quality beer selection.  I organized a family get together before our wedding at the Beer Garden and it was such a fun and easy experience.  Kelly was so helpful and accommodating. We organized everything by email and she even ordered our favorite beers for the night. Since it was the off season, we didnt book the Beer Garden just for us, so meeting the locals was also fun. We ate, drank and were definitely merry which is exactly what we wanted. I am so thankful to the staff at the Beer Garden for a great event.

I was lucky enough to spend last week in Corolla for a wedding and visit the Beer Garden for one of the wedding events. The weather was great so we enjoyed sitting outside underneath a beautifully lit tree and drink some local brew. The staff was super friendly and laid back. We were even able to bring in our own food for dinner. It was absolutely the perfect place to mingle with friends.

Great coffee, very friendly service, with a homey, casual interior.  There's so much to look at in here because of the support for local artists, and the drink selection is great!  I had a delicious iced coffee courtesy of a Yelp check-in offer, and a chocolate muffin that was decadent beyond belief.

This place is really as good as it gets in Corolla. The coffee is delicious and the staff is friendly and helpful. They love to chat with you, and give great advice on places to visit while in town. The owners Kelly and Matt definitely put their hearts and creativity into this place. It has a great feel including handmade local jewelry, a pretty good selection of breakfast items and a lot of love put into it. With a great vibe, this place has infinite potential (the bar downstairs has ambulance doors!). Love to see a place in Corolla where you can relax outside with a beer listening to live music. This place is a must to visit on your vacation, you won't be disappointed. I never have been!

I loved this place, the couple that owns it is so nice, and also  the best iced caramel macchiato I have ever had. The beer garden is fantastic as well, wonderful drinking atmosphere, centered around a gorgeous huge oak tree with beautiful eclectic furniture from bali. They really set the standards for us that the rest of the outerbanks had trouble living up to.

I stopped in for some " me time" one morning and it had such a nice and refreshing genuine vibe. The coffee was excellent and the bagels were very fresh and delish ( I think I read on their website they are from  lighthouse bagels)

Me and my husband went to their beer garden one night and that too was great.  It was like hanging out at in you friends backyard. Cute set -up. Very fun!! mix crowd all ages and everyone meshed well.

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner who runs the coffee shop and she was very pleasant, and fun to talk with.

Heads up: they are cash only.  Difficult to tell if the shop is open from the street so google ahead of time.  Don't think there is wi-fi.

But looks cool & cozy & beachy.

Number 1 - the coffee is good. We had an iced latte and an iced caramel macchiato. It seemed reasonably priced.

Number 2 - Kelly is SO NICE. We were on vacation in the outer banks and had no idea what to do or where to eat and Kelly gave us some great recommendations.

I just wish we would have had a chance to grab a beer.

If you're up north to see the beaches or the Currituck beach lighthouse do yourself a favor and stop in. The Shack served hands-down the best coffee and also some great advice on some things to do in OBX that we couldn't have found looking in a guide book. Inside it was relaxing -- conducive to reading or possibly getting a little laptop-time in -- and outdoors were some benches for relaxing with an ice cold coffee or beer.

For me, finding small business like this that are somewhat off of the beaten path is an obsession. Go find out what the locals know already.

Great personality and decor. I had an iced Americano, pretty average. They have a good selection of non-dairy milks (almond, coconut, soy).  I was hunting for a place to get some work done but there really isn't anywhere to sit and study/read/work on a computer. The outdoor seating looked nice, but it was way too hot outside for me on the day I was there.

If you are visiting the Outer Banks be sure to stop by The Shack!  The coffee is delicious and the atmosphere will keep you coming back every day.  A great place to grab a quick pick me up or relax on the patio all morning.  Very neat items for sale here as well including "upcycled" jewelry and wares.  Don't miss out on this treasure!

Great little organic coffee house with nice patio and terrific coffee. Cheaper than the place down the street. They have bagels, espresso drinks, muffins etc.
