Traveling thru the area. Wife and I found the parking lot packed. Lots of locals!  Great food and service. Highly recommend this place.

I really like The Shack's bar area. A nice, cool place to hang out with freinds and eat some real good food. The restaurant part of the establishment isn't my favorite though. Mostly consists of elderly people and or families. The atmosphere isn't the greatest either. But the bar is great and the liquor store connected to it comes in real handy. Never seen a comedy show in the back room yet but i hear they're good.

Had the chicken fettuccine special.  It was very cheesy and had a bit of smoky flavor.  I liked it a lot. Friend had a very tasty piece of walleye lightly battered and pan seared.  My brother had a wild rice burger which he enjoyed. Our server(Alexandra) was very pleasant and accommodating.  Would give 4 and half because it is a bit pricey but no half stars on Yelp.

I had sauteed walleye that was fresh, flavorful, and not fishy.  It came with a baked potato that could have been warmer and some tasty vegetables that tasted grilled then sauteed.  Friend had the pasta special that was an alfredoish sauce with chicken and he liked it.  And another friend had a wild rice burger that he liked.  The place is fancy for Superior with comfortable booths with lots of room.  Our server was very attentive with a pleasant attitude (Alexandra).  My only complain are the prices.

Terrible name for a fantastic place!  We expected a dive but found a wonderfully elegant dining experience.  We had a little sticker shock at first (because the best and most reasonable food is in Green Bay WI) but, the food was definitely worth the price. White tablecloths, heavy wood trim, warm bread handsome waiters and good cocktails along with wonderful food makes this a go back to place.  The 2 of us both ordered steak medallions and shrimp.  His shrimp broiled, mine deep fried.  The Caesar salad was wonderful. (although $1.00 extra which was not mentioned)  We would definitely go back.  It was a great dining experience.

I've been here a number of times with my grandparents. That should tell you something about the atmosphere of the restaurant. (I believe the Kiwanis club holds their meetings here.)

Extensive menu, and most things I've ordered have actually been not bad.  I LURVE that most things come with a side salad and baked potato. You add that to anything, and it improves the meal 300%. It's my favorite thing about eating out in the midwest.

Food tends to be really heavy and rich, which can be really satisfying or really gross, depending on what mood you're in. But really, their menu stretches for miles, and you can probably find something you want in any mood.

Good service all around, but the elderly German waitress is my favorite!!

Wife and I ate there last night. We weren't too impressed with the exterior, the neighborhood or the fact that it's attached to a carry-out. But it was next door to our hotel so we gave it a try. It turned out great. We loved the inside decor and the food and service were excellent. I even loved the bruschetta my wife ordered and I'm not normally a big fan. We had one steak special and the oriental  chicken salad and both were excellent. Prices were reasonable. We'll be back next time thru Superior.

Great food and great drinks - since The Shack has come under new management (and new kitchen help) the quality of the food and the overall experience has improved noticeably over past years.  I ordered an off-menu item that a friend told me about called "The Man Burger" which was around 1 pound of beef and 1.25 pounds of toppings and bun.  I was amazed that 3 of the 4 of us who tried it finished the burger (but not the sides) and everyone else enjoyed their food as well.  I've eaten here a few times in the past half year or so and there was only one meal I wouldn't order again, but that is because it was the option I disliked least on the menu offered by an organization that put on an awards even there.

The Shack is in a sort of weird neighborhood, but that pretty much describes all of Superior!

The Shack--not bad for what it is.  It has a pretty extensive menu, and the night I was there they had a fellow playing jazz; very mellow.  They have prime rib on the menu, and fish--of course.  People I was with seemed to enjoy their meal; I wasn't very hungry so I only ordered a baked potato and the vegetable of the day, steamed baby carrots--which was okay.  The side of sour cream came in a little cup and had separated, but I didn't think it would kill me, so I ate it anyway; wasn't very generous.  Overall, most people could find something to eat--very basic restaurant; not great, not horrible--but it seems oddly popular.
