    Good Breakfast.

Seems to be a well-designed menu without the ability to properly carry it out.  I expected it to be overpriced, given its location in the hotel, but I also expected, at these prices, to have good quality.  The haricots verts in the bib-lettuce wedge salad were old and tough, though the rest of the salad was quite good. The $29 a la carte Rib-eye was cooked closer to medium-well than the medium-rare that was ordered (which is completely unacceptable) and was swimming in the au poivre sauce. The service was genial (though a bit forced) and they offered to redo my steak.

This could be a very good overpriced restaurant, but they need someone with better oversight.

Shor was an experience I would not like to repeat. We were staying at the hotel and this was the only option available for dinner. We had 2 servers who continued to ask us the exact same questions over and over again. One of the servers kept running around like a chicken with his head cut off. The food came and was pretty lackluster. As residents of the area, we definitely will not be back.

The food was good but it wasn't anything really special or out of this world. Prices are way too high for the quality of food that you get. You could go somewhere much fancier for the same price. Waitress & Service were very slow, there was only one other table of patrons in the restaurant at the time. I would only recommend Shor during the Buffet, because this place is convenient during conventions when your at at the McCormick Place. That's about it otherwise go somewhere else.

1 star service....food was ok if you cannot get out of the Hyatt....but if you can escape the marginal food and disappointing wait/hotel staff....run! So much better food and service nearby in many directions for the same price.

Shor is a good place to eat if you are in the convention center with no escape.  Food quality is a cut above convention food and Mccormick food vendors.  Still could be better, but decent for what it was.

That sad, can be a bit pricey. Staff was ok.  Overall, no complaints.

THis was one of the only restaurants open during a weekday convention at McCormick Place.

The decor is fabulous, but the people working there seem a bit odd.  I will say the service could have been a lot better for this finer dining atmosphere.  My tuna sandwich was very tasty and the rest of my group said that their food was good too.

I would eat here again if at McCormick place.

I'm not sure what quite goes into the name of Shor: whether it was named after an Indian movie, a stock ticker or because it sounds vaguely Nordic and pretentious. I suspect more likely the later.

Regardless of the name, it's one of the few dining options that you have in the near vicinity of the Convention Center. The thing is, the owners know this too and you'll be paying a steep markup for basic food.

There's not a huge amount of ambience here, since the restaurant is basically open in a hallway between the convention center and the hyatt. The furnishings are fine, sort of a nice minimalist Ikea design.

I went with some lemonade and the chicken fettucini here. I thought the fettucini was fairly well done with reasonable sauce; the chicken had a little spicy breading that was a nice touch. The lemonade was, well, lemonade. But there were frequent refills.

Service here was actually fairly good. My server was a pharmacy student who was working a long shift (I bumped into her again 10 hours later working in the bar), but was still pleasant and came by frequently to refill my drink.

So basically it's reasonable and convenient food with friendly service at a poor value from the price markup. Not a memorable dining experience, but was filling and friendly enough to offset the grumbling about the price. Thus three stars.

This hotel reside inside the Hyatt I was staying at.  As with the previous reviewer this is the south side of the Chicago and there isn't much around this area as far as walking distance wise.  The atmosphere is nice; one would expect a dining experience of higher caliber.  However, this restaurant fail horribly to in terms of meeting one's expectation from the visual.  Highly overpriced in both service and taste.  Overall lackluster, go ahead and make the 10-15 minutes fight in traffic, it will pay off.  And did I mention, you'll come out with a $20 parking bill as well. ;-)

One of the worst meals I've had. Horrible buffet. Stuck at  the convention center with no close restaurants to choose from. Also just craziness to wait in line to even get in/wait is very, very long -- and definitely not worth it.
Buy a bag of frito chips and it'll be better -- and at least worth the money. Don't settle for this place -- let's all hope the Hyatt makes a change for the better.

The prices at this place are insane. We paid $55 for a basic breakfast for two. It wasn't very good either. The only reason this place is in business is because its next to the convention center.

Instead of spending an insane amount on mediocre food, spend $5 on a cab and get something good.

The food is rather 'cafeteria' style but the price is exorbitant. I ordered a crab cake appetizer and a seabass entree. The crab cake portion is huge but with no flavor. The seabass is ok. The side veges that go with it is bland, overcooked and flavorless. Quite a waste of food.  Finally, I tried some creme brulee to see if they are any good with it, it's also disappointing. The overall price tag ended up to be $66 without drinks. This is a place where I will not go again.

This restaurant is in the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/BqJ10kFkEJi5jdjRfyURow">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a>) and basically there isn't much in the Southside of town and so you're stuck eating hotel and convention food.

Our server was nice but had to deal with a table of 14 as well as us 3.  I would say 98% of their clients are either hotel guests, convention goers, or both.  I fall in the latter.

My steak was okay for $34.  My friend's pasta and my husband's fish were bland.  This place gauges because of what I had mentioned early of the area being isolated from the center of town.  We would have gladly gone to Brasserie Joe's or someplace better but my companions had to go back to work after dinner in the conference center.

We ate breakfast here back in April and I remember the 'buffet brunch' was disappointing as well.   I really not happy of how they take advantage of their guests and overcharge on bad food.
