I saw Disclosure here back in February, and loved it immediately. I came back for Boombox in April and like it as much as I did the first time around.

The Sinclair isn't a big club, but it somehow manages to feel roomy, even with the number of people that were at the Disclosure show (which sold out months in advance). I can't say this for any of the other major concert venues in Boston - I've been to mostly all of them. The crowd is laid-back and friendly (no rave babies here). Employees are cool, and will treat you like friends rather than adversaries, which sounds simple, but it's pretty much the other way around at HOB or Middle East. The place looks and feels clean. I didn't go upstairs but it looked roomy and fun from the bottom. My only gripe is that the bass was definitely clipping during Disclosure's set, but the sound was perfect when I came back for Boombox, so no complaints.

What other Boston venues do wrong, the Sinclair does right - if I remember correctly, and nothing has changed in the past few months, coat check is a reasonable $2, tall boys of Gansett : PBR are ~$4, and simple mixed drinks are ~$5. These prices are virtually unheard of for a premier music venue in Boston.

I haven't eaten here, but the Sinclair is one of the best places to see a show in Boston.

Small intimate venue perfect for shows.

Went for brunch... was so excited to try this place.  I've walked by so many times and thought it looked cool from the outside.  Sadly, not so great...

Decor/ambiance was nice!  After we were seated, we made a mental note to come back later.  That 's where it got worse.  Brunch menu sounded good theoretically, but all the food was so boring and run of the mill.  Portions were fine (a little on the small side), but everything seemed so unimaginative.  Even the biscuits left so much to be desired.  They looked like the Pillsbury premade biscuits!  Taste was okay, nothing to write home about.

As far as service goes, it was slow, orders were wrong, sides were forgotten... We had to go pay at the bar because our waiter disappeared.

Wanted so much to love this place... didn't happen.

Went for lunch with coworkers and had quite a nice experience!  While the menu might not be as large as some and is plentiful in it's fancy word use, the food was quite delicious.  Our table had the golden beets, farro salad, steak tartare, spinach + ricotta gnudi, spicy chicken succotash, and the burger.  Everyone loved every last bite of their food.  I personally ordered the beets and succotash and they were both great - the gnudi (of which I had a bite) was also excellent, though swimming in butter (but, really, it says butter sauce on the menu so you should be prepared).

The service is wonderful, as is the atmosphere.

The best surprise is that all of the desserts we tried were awesome too!  Like - REALLY awesome, and I have pretty high dessert standards.  I particularly recommend the bananas foster - mmmmmmm.

Will definitely return here for lunch, and would like to try dinner!

Even though I've been walking by this place for months, I finally had a meal here! I met a friend for lunch on a sunny day and we decided to sit on the patio upstairs. The restaurant itself is quite nice - open kitchen, large bar, lots of dark wood, romantic lighting, etc. The patio is small, but quite nice.

The lunch menu is very small. There are maybe a half dozen appetizers and main dishes to choose from. We decided to order (and split) the mussels, calamari, and gnudi (google it... that's what we did).

I do have to say that all the food was delicious. The calamari was cooked to the perfect amount of crispness, and was not soggy at all. The sauce that accompanied it was OK. It was described as a Tom Yum sauce, but it actually wasn't that spicy at all, and there was barely enough sauce for all the calamari in the bowl. The mussels were delicious. The broth they were cooked in was light but flavorful. The spinach and ricotta gnudi (it's essentially just a meatball-type thing) was good, but my least favorite of the three items we got. I couldn't taste the spinach at all, so it was mostly just a ricotta cheese ball. The sauce that it was in was divine. Without the sauce, I definitely don't think I would have enjoyed the gnudi at all.

Service was friendly, but a little slow. I think there was only one server and busperson working the whole patio, which was busy because it was lunch hour. Given the warm weather, I needed my water refilled many times, and only once was it done without my grabbing a server to do it for me. Lunch was a bit pricey at $48 (that includes a 20% tip) IMO. I would definitely come here again, though. But, it wouldn't be my first choice in the Square.

food: very good though not accurately described on the menu.  since when does 'braised chicken" = succotash?
service: horrible.  firstly and lastly, our server was blatantly chewing gum.  if prices reflected diner food, it might have been acceptable.  and, to be blunt, she was a dumb ass.  some people are born for the service industry.  she was not one of those people.  she had no knowledge of the menu nor did she have customer service skills.  we ordered "small plates" and didn't receive or food for 30+ minutes.  we had thought it would be fast and convenient to dine pre-show but would have made better time and, undoubtedly, had better service at an adjoining restaurant.  she made our (birthday) experience memorable in the worst way.
sadly, the bad service outweighed the good food.  shame.

After my first review and email to management, I was contacted the next day by two of the managers from The Sinclair apologizing for the experience.  About a week later, we received another apology from another manager in the mail.

We were wronged by our first experience but are looking forward to giving it another shot.  I am "raising the roof" to the managers that want to see their restaurant succeed and know how to right a wrong.

I am planning on posting another revision once we revisit.

It's great to see a new restaurant and music venue in Harvard Square. I haven't checked out the music venue, so this review is simply for the restaurant..

Food (8 out of 10): I had the Disco Fries and a chicken chowder type dish with wax beans in a cream sauce. Both were quite good and reasonably priced. My dinner companion had the cod which for $25 was quite small and had much too much sauce. As she said "the cod should be the star of the plate, not the sauce" The sauce and cod were both delicious, just the portions were a bit tiny.

Drink (8 out of 10): We had several beers while we were there. All were tasty and reasonably priced. The bartender was polite and nice, though he should offer a glass for any bottled beer.

Atmosphere (8 out of 10): We sat upstairs on the patio which is always nice since it can be hard to find a relaxed atmosphere outside. The tables were a bit strange since it seemed that the chairs were so high and the tables so low as to not allow much leg room. Good luck trying to cross your legs or if you need to place your napkin back on your lap.

Cost (7 out of 10): Everything was reasonably priced, though some of the portions were a bit small. (I glanced over at our neighbors who had ordered the burger)

Location (8 out of 10): Good location in the slight periphery of Harvard Square.

Service (4 out of 10): Sadly, this is where the review head's south. We were told there would be a 20 minute wait and at nearly an hour, I walked over to inquire (I had watched several people walk in the door and be seated immediately), only to find that the front of the house had forgotten about us and then missed the opportunity to apologize or in any way empathize with our wait. I even asked three different people about the misunderstanding and not one of them attempted to do anything about it. It's sad that the customer service at a restaurant with such potential could come up so short.

Friend told me this was a good hang out for live music. So came here randomly for a show on a Saturday night. Decided to get food upstairs first. Front desk ladies were very cool, but service and server sucked.
Ordered the burger: excellent, with basil and aioli, really good burger - quite flavorful and not crazy big. And the fries were quite crispy and also tasty.
Then the show: interesting space. Not that big, but doesn't feel cramped - feels fairly open. Upon arriving, there were no chairs and it was almost entirely standing room only, unless you got there early enough to claim a seat. And had someone sitting next to you to hold it in case you got up. As the show approached, staff realized that we were old and crotchedy, so they brought out a bunch of chairs, which we gladly helped them set up and then it was quite nice. The acoustics were really good and I think you have a great view no matter where you are. It was a fairly cool little venue. I didn't know the groups beforehand, so it was nice to sit - but I could imagine the standing room thing being cool if you really like the band and it's more lively music.

Overall, I had a really good time. I'm definitely gonna go back - and likely try some desserts, b/c they sounded GREAT! (didn't try any as I'd just run a Tough Mudder and enjoyed a hot fudge brownie sundae and tasty hamburger with fries)

    Shit.

Sinclair as a venue: 5 stars.  Hell, they can have 6 stars, for all I care.  As a venue (see my previous review) - outstanding.

    But for brunch?  Meh.

Prices: high.  Offerings: weird.  If you're in-the-know with foodie/tribe jargon that "gravalax" are in fact "lox," that'd be a solid breakfast go-to.  I've never ordered lox at a restaurant before that came with zero form of starch.  It was like 4 or 5 strips of smoked salmon and a poached egg, but nothing to put it on/sop it up with.  I'm fine with no bagel, but to me, breakfast is as much about protein as it is about starch, and if you're serving a brunch item that isn't inherently starchy (like pancakes or french toast or something), especially when you're serving a dish as traditional as lox, there should at least be some toast or something available.  I asked for some form of bread/toast and they brought over some crostinis post-haste, which was great.  It just seems strange to me that that wouldn't be part of the offering in the first place.

With that said - my food was good.  I tried a bite of the duck confit hash, the disco fries, and the chilaquiles, too, and those were all good.  It wasn't busy at all, and service was pretty on top of their game considering we were a party of 10.

I just don't think the food is worth it.  Their menu was similar to that of Deep Ellum's, with the lox & the hash (my 2 standard items there), so it was hard to not draw a direct comparison.  Except I like the food better at the Ellum and it's cheaper there, too.  I wouldn't eat at the Sinclair again for brunch - there are definitely better options around for the money.

Food - 3 stars. Music - 6 stars. Overall - 4.49999 stars.  I still love you Sinclair, but it appears you and I are only destined to dance in the dark.

not there for a show but looking for a creative meal? try the roof deck! or upstairs seating. quiet atmosphere for brunch. not BLARING music, which i love. great menu.
    crab cake benedict was awesome.

I saw a friend perform here a few weeks ago, and this venue sticks out in my mind as one of the best I've been to in the Boston area. It's not too big, not too small, acoustics were great, bars were quick... high five, Sinclair. I'll be seeing you again! :)

I have never eaten here before, I went here for a concert, so the music venue is what I am reviewing. I really enjoyed this place, the main section in front of the stage is open and spacious and the stage is a good height so you can see everything no matter where you are standing. They also have 2 other levels which overlook the stage which is also pretty cool and really allows for the place to not feel horribly crowded and stuffy. There are about 3 bars inside the music venue too, which is awesome because there aren't lines and the bartenders are really nice. I love this place and will absolutely be back for more!

The Sinclair is tucked two between buildings in Harvard Square, which is actually quite nice. Moving inside will reveal thats it's very dim, noisy, and has a hipstery feel. It's pretty much what you'd expect from a young, trendy restaurant.

The menu is pretty small; there aren't many options. The portion sizes aren't a bargain either. I only came here for dinner, but I image the live music is what gives this place its niche. The servers are nice and are very "trendy". The food came out within 10 minutes too, which was impressive.

I wasn't blown away or anything by the restaurant. I would probably only go here for events, not for the food.

Returned to The Sinclair for a show and pre-show dinner. The fella and I both ordered the $15 burger. They were cooked correctly, but the bun they came on was sub-par. Maybe it's supposed to be healthy or home made or something, but this English muffin looking thing fell apart as soon as you touched it. It was very dry, way too dense, like it was stale. Thankfully, the fries were excellent, because the burger was also very peppery. Not worth $15 in my opinion. I've enjoyed the apps here before, so I'd come back for those, but not the entrees.

The venue was really fun, had excellent views from all areas and great acoustics. Would definitely go again.

I don't want anybody to get the wrong idea, I'm talking music venue here.

If it's wrong to declare my love for the Sinclair after a mere two dates, then I don't wanna be right. Because I truly believe that we are soul mates.

This week I was at an intimate "VIP" show for an artist who usually plays venues such as The Orpheum or HOB. For several songs he went off mic and off amp, and the acoustics in this place blew me away. Previously I was at a packed show on a weekend, and I felt just as comfortable as I did at the show with half as many people. I've stood, sat and leaned in various locations both on the main floor and the mezzanine, and I think I can safely declare that there is not a bad view in the house; which is rare in area music venues.

The design aesthetic is definitely a little bit hipster, but not so much that it hurts. Exposed brick, industrial design three different bar areas with decent enough beer selections and mostly terrible wine choices. Prices for drinks are a little bit lower than I've come to expect at music venues (bonus!).

Before The Sinclair came into my life, I had enough other options that I never even knew I needed it; but now that I've been I can't imagine living without it. I'm not too proud to echo those that came before me: absolutely my new favorite venue!

I will preface by saying, I have not eaten in the dining room, only attended a show.  In the last year, I've probably passed this spot maybe a thousand times, but never realized there was a music hall tucked away.  The Venue is absolutely fabulous.  You walk into a sort of rustic but modern bar area, that is tastefully and minimally decorated.

For the particular show I attended, they also had an oyster bar in the area which was strange but awesome at the same time.  You could walk up to the hallowed out boat and someone would open up an oyster for you and you could add your favorite fixings.  If you then turned to the right while swallowing the slimy creature, you can see the stage of the Sinclair.

The stage is nothing phenomenal but the concert hall it's self is awesome for the many seating, standing and especially lounging areas they have.  You can stand on the first floor if you'd like, or head up the stairs to the left and sit at tables.  There is also stadium seating on the right side with great views of the stage that make you feel like you're sweating with the band.

Best part about this place is they have an maximum occupancy, so you'll never feel like you're over crowded.  I recommend attending a show just for the atmosphere, if you don't have time to come for a bigger name, although there are plenty available.

As far as an intimate, general admission music venue goes, The Sinclair has it. I love that the space is two-tiered, offering different vantage points and an escape should a mosh pit/crowd-surfing emerge. The stage is elevated a good five feet ensuring everyone, even those in the back of the first level, has a view, and the lighting only adds to the show power. The sound is crystal clear and not deafening.

The lobby is small considering it holds both merch tables and the bar, but it didn't seem to jam during my recent visit to a sold-out show. Drinks are reasonably priced for a Boston/Cambridge venue, although the draft beer selection disappointed; they make up for it slightly in the bottle selection though.

The Sinclair is located just outside Harvard Square off Brattle Street, which is a fabulous location, and the streets are not as congested as I imagined. Parking at the lot across the street will set you back a hefty $20, but if you're not afraid of a little walking (a block or two), you will probably get lucky enough to find street parking, or the University Center parking garage (entrance on University Road) is $9 with the online coupon.

Definitely check out a show at The Sinclair. I will be keeping an eye on their calendar for another opportunity to visit.

[Note: This review focuses on the music venue -- not the bar/restaurant side.]

Wow, this is a fantastic setting to enjoy a concert. After a recent visit to see a sold-out performance by local luminaries Buffalo Tom, The Sinclair immediately moved firmly into the #1 position as my favorite Boston-area venue. Wonderful sight lines, impeccable sound quality, plenty of room to move around (even during a sold-out show), and, dear god, a music venue that offers a decent range of craft beer (Pretty Things, Sixpoint, and more)? I may be in heaven.

After the show they'll kick everyone out of the venue side, but that just means it's time grab a beer at the Sinclair's other bar and head upstairs to enjoy the restaurant's patio. Perfect way to end a warm spring/summer evening.

This place is a great new addition to Cambridge, for sure. The menu is inventive and I like the variety, though the food could definitely be better. The kale salad is really good for a few bites and then becomes too sweet. The pork belly sliders are very tasty.

Last time I was here I got the burger which really needs improvement - It was so boring and bland! The meat was not juicy, there was nothing special about it. I was thoroughly disappointed.

But I'm giving this place 4 stars bc the ambiance is pretty good and the drinks are also pretty good.

Let me start off this review the nicest possible way: this place absolutely sucks.

The service is awful! Everyone looks really "cool", but none of the servers, bussers, or hosts have ever worked in a restaurant before or anywhere ever. Our hostess was fighting with a busser AT our table for a good 3 minutes about what the busser should be doing. All the workers were walking around like zombies and had no idea what they were doing.

I sat on the patio and everyone's food came out at the same time. Ordered wings 30 minutes ago? Well they are going to come out with everyone else's wings. Also ordered a burger? That's going to come 30 minutes after the wings with everyone else's burger. The food was not that good. I could have made everything that I ate - which wasn't much because they were out of everything except the 2 items I ordered.

    Draft beer selection sucks.
    Service couldn't be worse.
    Food was mediocre at best.
Trying too hard to be trendy.

The only good thing was this place LOOKS cool.

This review is for the restaurant only, and particularly, the patio.

FINALLY! It's starting to feel like patio weather in Boston. I brought my roommate here tonight as a belated birthday gift. The patio is awesome. There's no bar, there are high-top tables, and you need to order food in order to drink (hence rooftop "patio" and not "deck"). The patio's not open-air space- it is surrounded by 3 tall walls, which was actually optimal tonight, since the breeze is not yet warm.  I love all the string lights.

The disco fries are pretty fantastic. They are waffle fries that come served in a cast iron skillet in a SOUP of chorizo-infused cheese soup and sliced jalapeños. Pro-tip: if you order an entree that comes with fries, SAVE THE LEFTOVER CHEESE. The french fries are little skinny guys like McDonalds fries- which I happen to love. Probably fried with more finesse, but good is good in my book.

I had the fried pork sandwich. Think shake-and-bake pork chops with slaw, a sweet BBQ sauce and sliced jalapeños. Tasty. A lot larger than the burger, which is what my roommate got. He liked it, but it was kind of small compared to the sandwich. He's stuffed though, so that's something worth noting. Perhaps it is actually perfectly sized!

Drinks were good, service was excellent. I'll definitely be back.

So so happy I came to check out The Sinclair.  My friends and I had bought tickets for the Badfish Concert and figured we would do dinner in the restaurant before since I had heard great things.

The food was great; tasty, good portion (not too big or too small), and presented well.  Some of the highlights were the deviled eggs, the gnuki, and the burger.  They had a great beer selection and some awesome cocktails as well.

In terms of the concert venue, absolutely loved it!  It's small and intimate. We weren't even in there that early and still got up close to the front.  The best thing about the night was that you werent shoulder to shoulder being knocked around by some weird dance moves either.  There was plenty of room for everyone to have some space.  You also could get drinks really easily during the show - which was obviously a plus!

Came in last night and had an excellent meal. Have to admit, I'm a sucker for Sinclair. Cambridge hipster-central without any of the BS. Just great food with a great vibe. Here's the rundown:
    - Steak Tartare: do it
    - Grilled Octopus: perfect
    - Scallop Special was great, but the cous cous they paired it with was off
    - Crispy Pork Sandwich - fantastic
    - Sinclair's Wings - unique, but nothing I'd recommend

I've been curious about the restaurant ever since I saw a Howie Day show here 3 months ago. (BTW, GREAT venue, just the right size, highly recommend seeing any performance here.)

Finally had the chance to try brunch here today. The food was AWESOME, really no complaints there. I had the steak and eggs which was slightly on the rare side of medium rare but still good, with a yuuuuuuuummy bearnaise drizzled on top (love when the food is not swimming in sauce) and perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. The tots on the side were a nice touch and fiance could not stop stealing bites. Would order this again and again. Fiance ordered duck confit hash which was also a hit. Coffee was very good but I wish they had refilled it before we were literally about to leave, which brings me to my only complaint...

The service! Yes, there was a large 13-people party that our waitress was also servicing. But I had to ask 2-3 times to get my coffee in the first place, which was never refilled until our waitress came back to give us our check at the end of our meal and ! noticed my mug was empty :( . Also had to ask several times (and several different people) just to get some ketchup. Nothing major, but still, would expect more from a place like this.

Definitely would come back but hope for more attentive service.

I ordered the mac'n'cheese, which I was really hopeful about since it's such a small menu.  However, it was way too salty.  The first bite was good, but I couldn't get more than halfway through the dish before I had to stop from the sodium overload (and I love salt!).

I had a small bite of the crispy pork sandwich and it was simply fine.  BBQ crispy pork is just not nearly as good as BBQ pulled pork.  I wouldn't recommend it.

A friend ordered the raviolo and said it was also overly salted.

The disco fries were resting in cheese soup.  It would have been great had the cheese been drizzled over it, but instead the crispy fries turned soggy in the cheese soup.

The only reason I'm giving the place 3 stars instead of 2 is that the burger looked delicious.  Also, the cocktails look pretty promising.

If you like ginger beer, you should get it here because it is wonderfully spicy.

This review is only about the venue:

I went there yesterday to see Fu Manchu, one of my favorites bands ever and the audio was terrible! They are a stoner band, lots of guitars and you know, you need good equipment for a show like that, and that wasn't the case! I couldn't hear well, the sound was crap, that's a shame because they are amazing!!! :(

Restaurant: They have the greatest brussels ever. Seriously. We ordered them twice in one night. So good. The rest of the food was just good. I'd be happy to eat there again, but it's the brussels that will force me to come back. The cocktails were delicious until he made an old fashioned. That was... not so good. But the rest of the cocktails were creative and tasty, so I'll give them a pass.

Venue: Great venue! Negatives: They sell their tickets through Ticketmaster. Positives: You can buy tickets at the box office. The size is GREAT. The stage is pretty high, so you can generally have a good view regardless of where you stand. There are two bars!  With regular beer prices! And a good beer selection! You can start your night with a Notch Session and then switch over to a 'Gansett Cream by the end of the night.

This relatively new live music venue in Cambridge is about as cool as it gets.  It immediately reminded me of La Zona Rosa in Austin, and any live music venue that puts one in mind of something in Austin is a cool thing.  It's run by the folks who operate the Bowery theaters in NYC, so you know they know a thing or two about how to make a cool venue.

Inside, you pop your stuff into the coat check room, the attendant of which was super friendly and cheerful.  The bar is immediately on your left as you go in, and the gentleman manning it was also uber friendly.  We ordered a couple of beers and walked into the main audience chamber, which is cozy and affords a great view of the stage from all angles.  The performers are raised up about 6 feet, so even Kareem Abdul-Jabbar couldn't really obscure your view of the stage.

Great acoustics, great lighting and really nice atmosphere at this awesome live music venue.  Definitely come for a show!

How many hipsters does it take to plug in a light bulb?

The number is so obscure you just wouldn't get it.

This place is a hipster paradise, but honestly, totally worth it.  The venue is amazing and set up similar to the Paradise but with far better sound and an amazing bar selection.  Campari and vodka...yes please!

I have yet to make it to the brunch or the dining area and will update as soon as I check it out.

Probably my new favorite spot for a burger ($13). A third pound burger with a toasted brioche bun, basil aioli, MCs special sauce, onion rings and watercress is a perfect example of a burger where all the components actually compliment each other. Three occasions, all served perfect med rare.

The Crab cake Benedict was slightly disappointing as it was essentially two different dishes: 1) crab cakes, 2) eggs Benedict ($13). Needed more hollandaise and the crab cakes to be part of the egg, muffin, ham and spinach.

The duck confit hash needs additional duck ($14). The plate was overwhelmed by beets And potatoes.

Crispy fried oysters ($9) are plump and crispy, a half dozen arrive atop their individual shells and resting on a dollop of a pickled sipping sauces.

The tater tots are served in place of French fries with all dishes and are a welcome substitute.

The steak and eggs ($15) appeared to be a hefty piece of hangar steak cooked med rare although not sampled.

First visit, the mushroom ravioli were excellent as we're the pork sliders although the pork was not quite tender enough.

The skate crusted by almond and served with mussels in a garlic broth was slightly bitter.

A steak tartare comes with cornichons. Superbly tender steak. Aioli, crostini, grainy mustard.

Excellent giant grilled calamari. Tender and moist.

Drinks are worthy. Service is to be improved. Food is excellent.

This place is new! A little bit hard to notice when walking by on Church St as it's not right next to the sidewalk.

It feels like a mix between Park and Cambridge 1 in terms of ambience and food. I went with a group of 8. For a drink I ordered the Kentucky Luau since I prefer cocktails on the sweet side. It was a little watery but decent. The appetizers were awesome. We had the mussels, fried oysters, Brussels sprouts, and disco fries. The red curry sauce for the mussels was very tasty. My favorite was the Brussels sprouts - the egg and bacon in there made it salty with the right texture.

For an entrée I ordered the skate. The waiter told me it was the healthy option among the burgers, ravioli and other carb and meat heavy stuff. The fish was tender throughout but crunchy on top. Combined with the sauce it tasted great. The bok choy was eh, but that has never been my favorite vegetable.

For dessert we shared the pecan pie and tiramisu, both generous portions. The pecan pie was different since it was mostly chocolate with some pecans embedded in it.

Service was nice. The only glitch was the waiter forgetting to bring milk for our coffee. But very courteous and helpful. Would definitely go back.

It's been a while since there was a new restaurant in Harvard Square that I've liked this much.  Went there for lunch with a friend - the food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient.

The menu is southern-inspired, which is a nice addition to the usual Harvard Sq fare.  I had the Shrimp Po' Boy with horseradish mayo (delicious!) and my friend had their burger with ailoi and crispy onions which she raved about (and which was listed as one of the 25 hottest burgers in America at <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2FEater.com&s=6b7910e6176ff9166277ef50a29af7da7b3dc698a133787bbaca8190e3495784" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://Eater.com</a>).  Both came with really excellent french fries (a rarity in Harvard Sq).  The dishes were slightly smaller than we expected, but after finishing them we both agreed that the size was actually just right.  Their bar seems well stocked and I was pleased that they carried Angry Orchard hard cider, a favorite of mine.  I'm definitely going back to try more things off their menu.

I notice that some yelpers have complained about the service, but I wonder if that's because they were eating there in the evening when the place is more crowded for a concert.  When we went for lunch, there was no crowd and  no service issues.  In fact, the manager came over and chatted with us for a bit.

You know how you're really amped up and excited to see So and So in an intimate venue, and you get there real early so you can be right up front and see So and So up close and personal, and this is great, fantastic, can't wait, but then you're all stressed because you're wondering if the acoustics will be terrible because you are right on top of the stage amps, and the PA is now actually behind you for the most part, so then is it actually worth it, having come in so early, staked your turf down front, now able to see great, but can't hear a damn thing, the  mix being muddy and a little dull precisely right where you are?

Yeah, that's not a problem here. I fulfilled all the conditions above, and the sound mix was so crisp and perfect I thought it was being piped directly into my aural cavities by a $1000 pair of top shelf Bose headphones.

The only quibbles I have with the Sinclair - the interior needs a little sprucing up around the edges. The walls are barren and cold. And the main floor is actually three steps up from the perimeter around back, so if the show is sold out and you get there late and you can't or won't (because you're not a dick) force your way up onto the floor, elbows akimbo and drink sloshing all over everyone but yourself... then, well, you ain't seein' shit, son.

    So just get there early....

Great venue, books mostly great acts - great addition to Harvard Square.

Great place to watch a band. Presents an option that the Square was seriously lacking and hopefully this place takes off.

Beers are $7 and there are bars upstairs and downstairs, which is great. Lines can get long - but in what venue is that not a problem?

You can also bring food over from Sinclair's Kitchen if you have gone early to stake your territory and need to pass a few hours waiting..we did not try this but the fried chicken that was coming out of there to nourish the band pre-show smelled like heaven.

This review is for the restaurant, not the concert venue.

Great atmosphere and plenty of space for large parties with two floors of seating. My friends got the veggie burgers and the crispy pork sandwich and I ordered the Sinclair burger. A few of us opted to replace the regular fries with chickpea fries (extra $5). Both sides were delicious. The burgers and pork sandwich were also fantastic. I would have given it 5 stars but the service was very slow. It took about 50 minutes for our food to come out. Thankfully it was worth the wait.

New place in the square! Decor is a lot nicer and trendier than most places in the neighborhood which is kind of nice after several years working my way around the diners and other cheap food joints around Cambridge. Although most entrees were good, service and deserts were pretty disappointing! We waited over half an hour for a cookie plate and a carrot cake that didn't have any carrots whatsoever in it!!

I'll still give it 3 starrs for the cool venue and good burger

**THIS REVIEW IS EXPLICITLY OF THE KITCHEN**

The burger is divine.  Brioche plus basil aioli plus cooked perfectly=my mouth just filled with saliva--can't finish this review, must go now.

The crispy pork is pretty good too.  The onion rings are only ok.  The brussels are bomb dot com.

Easiest way to get me to change this to five stars? Have a freaking coat check when you have a sold out show and it's 10 degrees out.

Venue is cool, drinks were about what you'd expect. But the night was not as great because we had to hold our enormous jackets the whole time.

A relatively new spot to the Boston-area music scene, this venue is quick becoming a hot spot for local and national acts. The Sinclair is dark, intimate and has excellent acoustics.

I hope this venue is a staple for the local music scene for many years to come!
