I love dive bars, but in the right company I'll take a traddy pub over a dive bar anyday.

I saw drawn to this place as a point of interest being that it's the place of meeting of a favorite married couple friends of mine. I was trying to capture their magic. Jk I was looking to get loaded on heavy beers and shoot the shit with olf friends.

I think the term unassuming may be inaccurate, but from 1 side it's just windows into a non descript tavern/restaurant, but from the complete other side it's a huge patio laden palace of pub-ery.

Dim lighting, hard wood floors, open spaces, stone masoned walls, a fireplace, coat racks, a bar downstairs. Yeah that's a lot of things to look forward to. I personally loved the elk lodge style down below on your way to the bathrooms.

The quirkiness of the bar itself with it's copper/brass sculptures. Whiskies a plenty and a healthy selection of craft and local beers. What I love about them is they have multiple Guinness Tap's.

The bar itself is small as there are a dozen tall tables in the surrounding nooks and crannies I found the service to be helpful and accommodating, until close. Then it's gtfu. Granted I had come here each time around midnight. They gave me some schpeel about we have to have so many people in here and selling so much food to stay open. Granted I'm not from around here, but close the kitchen all you want. I just want to drink on your patio. A firepit would do them nicely. I fully enjoyed them in the summer and could see equal amounts of fun here in Winter. I may not have been from around here, but last call is last call and I did my worst by ordering all the way up until and then 3 last beers at last call. Actually the prices here aren't too bad, but when you are trying to drink your age in Guinness it becomes expensive.

I would gladly come here at a more appropriate hour to start my next pubfest as the décor alone here keeps things fun and interesting.

Really liked this bar! AC was kicking which always makes for a better night. Strong drinks with not too bad of a wait to get one. The one thing I will say is that we arrived at the tail end of trivia night and the questions were SO loud over the mic. Will def return

One of my favorite restaurants in Richmond is Sine, an old world style Irish Pub in a charming old building down near Canal Street. Inside, you'll find wood floors, wood booths, and a large wood bar with great beers on tap including Harp and Guinness. Most of the food is stand "Pub Grub", Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips, and Sheppard's Pie. I went for the Coffee Rubbed Pork. It was soooo gooood.

The pork was so tender and moist, with a bit of spice from either pepper or chili powder. The coffee taste was subtle and not overpowering. The pork sits on a bed of green string beans and mashed sweet potatoes. The beans were ok, but the potatoes had to have gone through a ricer. They were fluffy, sweet, and fantastic.

    Overall, a great experience.
