The ONLY Reason why I gave this place 3 stars is for the Burger and The Burger alone.. There is NOTHING like the 6th Street Burger on Tuesday nights!!! 750 for this amazing not so good for your tummy but amazing for your soul Burger!!! Oh and a micro beer for 7.50! (They could use more local beer to choose from, being that we are from Oregon ummmm.. how does a bar here not have more than one Ninkasi.. their order'er must not like Ninkasi.. shame) So my son and I always sit in the restaurant side to order our burgers, we usually have some of his high school friends with us. For some reason we ALWAYS get the same server! This is NOT a good thing. She always seems to be there (which might be the reason why she seems like she hates life). She has the most fraudulent attitude i've ever experienced at a serving establishment. I myself use to work for the Service Industry and pay attention to servers because I expect a high quality experience every time I go out (and spend my hard earned money). Ill get to why and how I know her attitude is bogus later...  Last night it seemed like she was training some new guy, which he rocked. Super attentive and nice. Good personality and conversationalist. (she must not have trained him on that). I don't understand why she would be training anybody, I hope shes not a supervisor! When they had left our table I watched them walk around to other tables before even stepping in from of their POS system in the back (which is very visible to where we are seated) I don't understand why our order wasn't put it in immediately after our orders were taken?! One of the most important rules in order taking and quality control! Ugh.. Well as she was hovering over him putting in what I was hoping was our order (and not someone else's from 30 mins ago) I noticed her playing with her nose.. kinda gross. She didn't handle too much food or give us our drinks which was nice, but if your going to pick or play with body parts do it in the back where you are not visible! Gross.. (especially for how things are priced here, get classier!). Every Tuesday that I come in I usually have dinner with my son then he leaves with his friends and I meet up with some friends in the bar and enjoy the Happy Hour that lasts till close (another awesome factor of this place). Well it seems that all the staff as well enjoys this luxury after they get off... This is where it all gets interesting.. the nose picker/trainer's voice completely changed once she had a drink in her. She turned 22 to 16 year old gossip queen in 2 seconds! Every establishment that I have worked for always (or should) give their employees a shift drink after work, so i understand that employees like to sometimes hang out afterwards with each other and talk. The mannerism in which these employees did was distasteful and proved my point as to why I had a bad feeling about nose picker/trainer.  I overheard some talk of weed smoking.. which is not unheard of again by workers of the S.I. (or eugene rather) Time and place people.. This left a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the evening. I was upset with myself for the first time in my life for leaving her a tip. The service in the bar was way better than the phony/fake interaction I had, had with nose picker.. The bar-tender actually talked to me like a normal human being.. and her voice didn't change when she talked to other people as well! I found out last night that minors are allowed in the bar until 8 so next time to insure I don't get N.P. again Ill be taking my people to the bar.. one more chance 6th street grill.. one more chance.

(by me writing this I don't hope to get anyone out of a job.. because the worst thing a restaurant/bar can do is have a high turn over rate.. i just hope that she reads this and is more aware of how she is coming off.. I mean her name is on the bottom of my receipt. I just would rather leave that out for her own well being)

Sixth Street Grill was loud and festive on St. Patty's Day. Lots of patrons came here to eat Irish specialties and listen to bagpipe music produced by the Eugene Highlanders.

Service was ok; it was busy and while the food came out in a reasonable amount of time, it was delivered by staff who was not our waitress, and one request for a mixed drink was forgotten. Food was average and not necessarily memorable. Our party of 6 ordered the fried shrimp appetizer, cups of Guinness stew, corned beef & cabbage, Parmesan halibut with scalloped potatoes and a burger.

The slab of corned beef was decently flavorful, but the cabbage was crunchy and needed to be cut with a steak knife. I prefer my cabbage to be more tender and braised longer. A couple of carrots and boiled potatoes rounded out the meal. The Parmesan halibut was a heavy entree. The portion of fish was pretty dense, breaded in parm and breadcrumbs, and topped with a rich, heavy sauce that tasted identical to the scalloped potato sauce, put the entree over the edge. Irish stew was a little thin and watery, but tasted good. The burger was nothing to write home about. Their menu does not feature or advertise the restaurant uses locally-supplied or naturally raised sources or suppliers.

Lots of older patrons were in this restaurant, and the adjoining bar was packed on this holiday. The waitstaff adds auto gratuities for parties 6 or more.

I went here for the first time on Tuesday to try their burger and brew. I was expected it to be pretty basic since it was a special, but was I surprised! A burger with bacon, grilled onions, mushrooms, avocado, two types of cheese. . . far from basic! The beer was good too, but the burger out shined it. I definitely recommend their burger and brew to anyone who is thinking about it!
