Went to Sotto Santi for lunch yesterday.  They redid the restaurant a few months ago, and it's much nicer inside now.  Good selection of beers on tap and a nice bottle selection.

Pizza is $1.00 a slice, but frankly the plain neapolitan tastes like it's $1.00 a slice.  Good crust, but very light on the sauce.  However, they'll turn a plain slice into virtually any of their specialty pizzas and that's where the fun begins.

We've had the German pizza, the Bruschetta pizza and the Meat Lovers Pizza and all were just loaded with extra goodies.  However, the absolute best is their Buffalo Chicken pizza.  I've tried several buffalo chicken pizzas, but theirs is, hands-down, the one that I crave.  The hot sauce and blue cheese mixture is tangy and spicy enough to let you know it's there but without killing your palate.  The specialty slices are now up to $3.35 each, but they're worth it!

We were staying at a hotel in Bethlehem and wanted vegan pizza.  But we did not want to leave our comfy hotel room.  Enter Sotto Santi Pizzeria!

We got a pizza loaded with vegan cheese and all their veggies, including any available peppers. We were delighted to find out they could make vegan garlic knots too and ordered some of those as well. We were technically outside of their delivery area.  We begged them to consider delivering anyway.  They agreed that they would.  We were thrilled!

Even though we were farther away than usual, it did not take them any time at all to arrive.  The delivery guy was friendly.

We were in vacation mode and sitting down for a night in front of the TV, so everything may have seemed more delicious than it actually was.  The toppings on the pizza were fresh and the cheese was melted (this can be an issue with vegan cheeses on occasion).  The crust was tasty but it did have trouble supporting the weight of our numerous toppings.  We didn't care--everything was still yummy.

The garlic knots were tasty!  They came with what was supposed to be a marinara dipping sauce  The marina was thin and kind of watery, so we didn't really dip anything in it.  But the knots didn't need the sauce.

I love the synergy of good food and good service.  Sotto Santi delivered a fabulous Sunday night in!

I have enjoyed their fresh, light, and delicious vegan pizza, which they told me they will have regularly from now on.  It seems to be made with Daiya.  More expensive but worth it, to save calories, cholesterol, and calves. Thanks much for offering this.

Came here for a quick lunch while visiting Lehigh University.  It is a quick walk from the campus.

    Pizza was great!

Other than pizza, they have strombolis, calzones, paninis, and pasta on the menu.

    Food was priced very reasonably!

Six dollar large pies for students and the pizza is the best in the south side. They also have dollar slices some times for regular folk. nothing beats a large pie just before the bars close.

Pretty good, cheap pizza.  Good place to go for a few beers.

I have mixed feelings about this place.

I've only been here twice. The first time, I came with my boyfriend, and we stood near the doorway for at least five minutes waiting to see if someone would seat us. Staff walked by us multiple times and the bartender caught our eye but we were completely ignored by all of them. Sick of being ignored, we eventually just left.

My second Sotto Santi experience was better. I came with a group of four other people and we wanted to get strombolis to split. The waitress assured us that they were huge, so we got two mediums. The strombolis were as long as promised, but SO thin! It was really barely any food. We were still hungry afterwards so we ended up ordering more food. It was all pretty delicious, though.

All in all, I would probably give Sotto Santi another try. The food was good, and other than that first time, the service was pretty good too. Also, I believe there was a $6 large pizza student special on the menu a certain night of the week that sounded like a really good deal.

My girlfriend and I went to Sotto Santi last night for dinner and really liked it.  The pizza is definitely the best in Bethlehem, and the prices are great.  We were able to get 2 slices each with toppings, a pitcher of Coor's Light, and fries for $20 including tip.

Our waitress was very friendly, and we really liked the place.  If you're getting slices, it's $1 for cheese slices, plus 40 cents extra per topping.  Their specialty slices are $2.95.  Pizzas start at $6 for a large cheese and go up from there.

We'll definitely be going back, and it's unlikely we'll be going to Lehigh or Campus Pizza again.

Great little place!   I just moved into the area and was out looking for some good, Brooklyn style pizza and beer and stumbled into this little gem of a place.  The place is a pizza joint and bar, so don't go expecting fancy decor or classy service, and I think its all the better for it!  It was around 9pm on Thursday night when I got there.  There were only a few people at the bar, but everyone seemed lively and enjoying themselves.  As the night went on more people started showing up.  The bartender was friendly and quickly pointed out that their pizzas were $6 each or $1 a slice.  What a steal. The pizza was fantastic and among the best I've ever had.  Exactly what I was looking for.  I had a pint of lager and 2 slices for $5 with tip.  Can't beat that anywhere.   I ended up staying for a few more pints and ended up hanging out with several people.  Everyone I met was very friendly and I felt right at home.   I think I've found a replacement for my regular hangout.

Pros: Great pizza, friendly people, good bartender, inexpensive
    Cons:  none yet
Unknowns:  Quality of other menu items

I ate in a few times when this place was still called Casa Mia.  The waitresses were very good looking, but most of the time, that was all that was good about their service.  They tended to be rude, inattentive, and sometimes gave you dirty plates without checking them first.  Only once was my service any good.

So the four star rating is for their food only.  Their pies are unquestionably the best amongst the South Bethlehem pizzerias.  And if you're a student, you can get either a plain or white (with fresh garlic if you want) for only $6.  One of the best deals out there.

EDIT:  They DO have slices available, for only $1.35.  They were only okay - the dough was lacking, and the sauce was on the sour side.  I may have to try their pies and slices again before I make another judgment call.

EDIT: I tried the slices again, and I'd say the pizza is a no go.  It's just not as good as it was before.

I'm sticking with the 4 stars, because their veal parmagiana sandwich was delectable: good sauce, nice meat, and it uses some nicely toasted garlic bread.
