Big fan, though only in cyberspace so far - I've yet to catch these guys spinning out, though I have come close a few times. I love their blog, podcasts, and tunes though. Very nice, classy production skills.

Do you like beats?
How about bass?
What about some good ol' fashioned booty shaking?

If you've answered yes to all of these questions, I'd think it's about time you get to know Soul Clap, Boston's own bad-ass boys who rule the ones and twos. They get the party started, keep it going and and infuse all the events they spin at with energy.

I've seen Soul Clap at Phoenix, The opening of Mizu in the Mandarin Oriental, The opening of Foundation Room at House of Blues, Dancing on the Charles, The Style Matters Spring Silhouettes Fashion Show and countless other events all over Boston. These guys are everywhere and have the talent to craft just the right sounds for every room size, crowd and event style!

Whether you're at a private event, an industry party or a night of plain old dancing, if Soul Clap's in the house, rest assured that your ears, legs, mind and soul will be pleased.

The first time I heard these guys was at the post MIT museum party at Z-Square in Cambridge. At first I thought that they just happened to be at the bar, but after asking around, found out that they were there because of us.

The musical selection along with the transitions between songs were absolutely amazing. I couldn't say enough good things about them (specifically Eli, as he was the one spinning when I was trying to figure out who they were).

Needless to say, I was psyched to hear that they'd be DJing the yelp prom. If you have a chance to see these guys, go, seriously.

Hello, I love you. Soul Clap knows what they are doing. Props for playing INXS, my all time FAVORITE band @ the LEGENDARY Yelp Old Skool Prom. You made the night beyond fun. BEST NIGHT EVER!

If you need your party to rock, you need Soul Clap to spin the music.

I had the pleasure of seeing them in action two days in a row this week: on Thursday at The Moxie Agency party and again last night at Boston Yelp's Old Skool Prom: http://www.yelp.com/biz/…

The vibe of these two events was decidedly different - the first a swank party in a penthouse loft, the next for a group of bedecked and bejeweled prom-goers in a hotel lounge - showing off the versatility of Soul Clap's repertoire.

If the music these guys spin doesn't make you want to dance with somebody (with somebody who loves you. . .) I'd be shocked.

fucking rules. The end.

---

the longer version would include a story about how this was the first dance night I ever attended when I moved out here as a homesick little lass many moons agoooooo.... but I don't feel like waxing nostalgic... do you? I thought not.

As far as I'm concerned, Soul Clap is one of the best things to come out of Boston's DJ/music scene in quite some time.

Creating great music is all about tuning in to the energy of the people listening--a talent that Soul Clap has successfully mastered.

Versatility can sometimes be difficult for other DJ's. Most stick to one type of music genre, venue and crowd. Soul Clap is a splendid exception to this rule.

I have heard Charlie and Eli bring back the 90's at Redline-- inspiring grown men and women to break out their old school dance moves (I even revived my rusty running man and roger rabbit)...

I've seen them create music at a posh Moet event-- getting even the most timid attendees to clap their hands, tap their feet and bust a move...

And let's not forget the cult-like hipster-filled(yeah I know we all hate the word hipster, but deal with it) following they created with Dancing on the Charles.

Whether they're spinning in a nightclub, a bar, a fashion boutique, a swanky hotel or a dingy American Legion hall, their music is always unique, crowd-pleasing and one hell of a good time.

Bravo boys.

Ah Soul Clap - seeing you grow through the years makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Or rather, makes my head warm and fuzzy because it's filled with the pulsating sounds of the amazing music you spin, making me a 'dance machine'. (I just learned this term and need to use it. But it's appropriate here!)

DJs Elyte and Cnyce impress me to no extent. Personable, friendly, and all-around great, fun people, they took Soul Clap from it's fledgling state to the hottest venues all around Boston. But that's not where it ends - did I mention they've DJed around the world as well, last I heard on their European travels? Although they were good to begin with, a friend and I noted last night that they just keep getting better and better, with no limitation. One thing I love about them is that although they do have plenty of gigs at the nightlife hotspots, there is never any snobbery with them about where they play - so adaptable, they could play at any venue and spice things up. They've worked with many other great DJs, from Carl Craig to Felix Da Housecat, and their frequent accompaniments from friends like DJ Paulo are certainly nothing to sniff at either.

House, techno, garage, disco, funk, electro, freestyle.. how can you not love them when they "time [travel] on a musical spaceship of dopeness to make girls shake their butts and dudes say "oooooh"? (I got that directly off their site, ok!) They've got a podcast, and there's even a link to Yelp on their website. (Hey, they have DJed Yelp events too!) I don't know if I could ever have them at an event of mine (or when I'd have the occasion to have an event in the first place, hah!) but I can be sure that if I did, they'd know how to turn it into a real party.
