Sportsman Pub

I used to really enjoy coming here when I visited my sister who lives in Ridgefield. She always loved it but said it had changed owners recently and wasn't as good anymore. That was definitely proven today. Our server was friendly enough, but that's probably the best thing I can say. Once she took our orders and brought our first drinks we never saw her again. The cook actually brought us our food (after an agonizingly long time). Not once did anyone check on us or refill our drinks. The food was okay, but it used to be outstanding. I don't know if the place is short staffed or if the employees just aren't good at their jobs, but it was just too time consuming and disappointing all around. It was not overly busy, and I'm always generous about giving servers the benefit of the doubt. (I've been a server, I know how it can be.) But as I said, lousy, slow service and mediocre food. It's too bad, I really used to enjoy it. Because it's in a small town, I'd recommend they get back on track before they lose all their regular local patrons.

Friend I was visiting took me there a week or so ago.  Took forever for waitress to take our order/get drinks.  I was showing my friend the new straight razor I had just purchased.  I opened the box for the first time and we were both admiring the craftsmanship when the waitress walks up and takes it from me and asks what I use it for.  "Shaving..." I replied.  I then tell her that it is a $400.00 razor and used hand motions for her to give it back.  She then tells me about this mole on her arm that has really tough hairs that grow out of it AND THEN PROCEEDS TO SHAVE THEM!!!  WITH MY RAZOR!!!  I even asked her not to as I saw what she was going to do.  She does this over my silverware and I lose my appetite.  My friend and I are both flabbergasted that this event just took place..  

The following day, we call the manager, as he was not in that night.  He apologizes and says that my friend can have a free drink on his next visit.  I am not satisfied at all.  It is absolutely infuriating that this waitress shaved her mole with my new razor before I even had a chance to hardly look at it.  Unsanitary and disrespectful.  I will never eat there again and will tell everyone I know how horrible my experience was.

Yeah, this place is a great little neighborhood pub  - Lots of locals hangin' out, drinkin' and having a great time. Food and drinks are great value for the price and the servers are always hustling... and friendly. Definitely a great place to cut loose after a long week!!!
