Sportsman's Grille

We stopped here for a quick and light lunch before a doctor appointment at Vanderbilt University Hospital.  The restaurant is walking distance (1 block).

We both had salads (grilled chicken and grilled salmon).  We both had their Dijon Vinaigrette dressing.  I had a cup of Chicken Tortilla soup.

The soup was excellent.  Hot, thick, lots of chicken and cheese flavor and not very spicy.

The salads were both very good.  We had the lunch size and it was just enough.

Parking is spartan.  They have a few spaces in a lot across the street at the gas station.  We were lucky and had already parked in the free parking garage at the hospital, ahead of our appointment.

We'd come back!

I love the BBQ here...great wines (Sonoma By the glass!) free wifi, family friendly, old school and 2 TVs with sports in the bar...perfect!

My husband and I have been here twice (this is the only Sportsman's Grille we've been to so far). It's right down the road from the Children's Playroom which is where we drop the kids off so we can have a fun evening out :)

The first time we went, I had the meatloaf dinner and my husband had the french dip sandwich, both were EXCELLENT. I was a bit hesitant since meatloaf from a restaurant is hit or miss, but I ate every bite off my plate.

Their pitchers of draft beer seem larger to me than most places, and they bring out the coldest glass mugs I've ever seen so your beer stays fresh for a bit (which is good because I drink slow).

The second time we went I had the philly cheese steak sandwich and my husband had the chicken and biscuits, both again were excellent. And again, our service was great. We sat outside both times and were alone on the deck, so for us it was a very enjoyable, quiet and pleasant evening dinner. We've never eaten inside, so perhaps for those who have had a bad experience inside due to loudness... I would recommend their outdoor seating for a more peaceful meal :)

We will be making this a regular spot, I'm looking forward to trying another meal off of their awesome menu!
