Subway

While traveling down the highway en route to Gatlinburg, the bright white, yellow and green logo beckoned this hungry traveler like the Sirens of Homer's Odyssey. How could I resist?

The reassuring smell of bread and the usual ingredients met my nose with sweet satisfaction. I quickly ordered my usual chicken teriyaki on flatbread and it was prepared with the culinary expertise by the possibly bored out of her mind young girl.

The bathroom was without soap so I hope that the women's was not the same (either way, the workers always wear plastic gloves when they make your food.)

No sooner had I sat down with my meal, when at least half a dozen other hungry travelers streamed in, unable to resist the Subway's bright sign. You may have won this round subway, but I'll be ready for the next time.

P.S. A little trivia note: as of this date, 11/15/11, there are 35,643 Subways in 98 countries.
