Came here last night before going to Mid Oak Distillery. The bar comfort food was very good. I personally had the Reuben sandwich and a nice pint of Guinness. I will definitely come back. The hostess and waiter were both very friendly and made us feel at home. Next time we are in Midlothian this will be a definite consideration for lunch or dinner.
Review Source:Met a few friends for drinks on a Friday - early, around 6:30. Â The place is really nice inside - lots of wood, big space, clean. Â Service was good - started off at the bar with a Cosmo, which was made right. Â
Moved to a table when others arrived and had a great waitress. Â A few more martinis and then we headed to our next destination. Â
This review is only for drinks and atmosphere. Â I looked over the menu, and nothing jumped out at me. Â I also looked over their band schedule and will be back to check that out. Â Not sure what the crowd will be like when it is croweded.
I was there for lunch on 4/27/12. Â The place is really nice inside. Â The decor is fitting for the type of establishment it is, but on a sunny day, it's really difficult to see when you're inside. Â The light shines through the front windows and your eyes never really adjust, since it's so dark inside. Â Some sort of tint on the windows would be really helpful.
I wish I had more good things to say. Â My dad, sister and I waited about 45 minutes to receive our food. Â It wasn't a difficult order, it was a burger, soup and something called a Boxty. Â I'm not kidding. Â That's all we ordered, and it took about 45 minutes to make that. Â The restaurant wasn't busy at all. Â There were 5 people in the restaurant when we came in, and they had already ordered. Â Two more came in after we ordered. Â I'm really confused why it took so long. Â Oh, and don't expect the Boxty to look like it does in the menu's pictures.
My sister said the soup was okay. Â My dad said his Boxty was okay. Â I ordered the Bacon Cheddar burger with house-made chips on a pretzel roll. Â Well, the menu said "pretzel roll" so I assumed that's what I would get. Â My burger came out on a bun about twice the size of the burger. Â This was some seriously hefty bread, folks. Â I asked the server about the pretzel roll and she didn't know what the menu said and was generally confused by it all. Â I told her not to worry about it. Â I thought, "Maybe they ran out of pretzel rolls." Â That is, until I looked at my sisters bowl of soup and saw half of a pretzel roll sitting there. Â Oh well, it's just bread.
The burger itself was beyond bland. Â The cheddar had been most melted off and it had one slice of bacon, cut in half. Â The meat had zero seasoning. Â It just tasted like ground beef formed into a patty. Â Nothing more, nothing less. Â It was about a $3.50 burger they're charging $7 for. Â The house-made chips were good, but would have been better had they let them cook all the way through. Â No one likes chewy chips.
If you're going out for drinks, I'm sure this is going to be a nice place to hang out, and maybe see some live music. Â I just don't recommend the "eatery" aspect of it. Â Especially if you're on lunch break from work and only have a short amount of time.
My review is not on the food, but on the concert environment this past Saturday night (3/10/12) for Local H & Monkey Paw.
Sound system was top notch, the stage was elevated so everyone could see the band and the overall feel of the club was great. I had a great time and Local H never disappoints. I just hope they come back here someday!
If anyone would be interested in hearing my recording of the show:

I have been to Sullivan's about a half a dozen times since they opened on St. Patrick's Day 2011, and every time I go back the place just keeps getting better and better. Having spent a week in Dublin recently and visiting many pubs I must say this place has the look and feel of an authentic Irish pub. They have an extensive beer list and the food is great! You will be greeted and served by a friendly and professional wait staff. They have a solid lineup of fantastic entertainment, a huge stage with big sound / lights and plenty of big screen TV's for sporting events. Did I mention the huge [enclosed for winter] beer garden? I can't wait to go back!
The Food: = Great!
The Service: = Great service at the bar and the restaurant.
The Price: = Reasonable
Seemed like a really nice place. Â We were there at the bar for about an hour on a Saturday and were getting ready to order food. Â One of the employees or managers, (I'm not sure which) walked up to us and said we got in under the radar and asked if we were staying. Â We told him we were thinking of ordering food. Â He informed us that there was a cover of $12.00 EACH for the band. Â Sorry, couldn't afford $24.00 on top of food so we left. Â They should decide if they want to be a club or a restaurant. Â I've never seen a place that would charge you a cover, after you've been there an hour and when you want to order dinner. Â A little too rich for my blood. Â Plus it was just a King Crimson cover band. Â We were told there was some sort of Fest going on that day and sure enough it was on all there signs but nothing was going on. Â False advertising too. Â My advice is if you want a REAL Irish pub and no BS go to Carraig's about a half mile west of Sullivans on 147th Street in Gaelic Park.
Review Source:This place was pretty nice. It has a huge covered outdoor beer garden with a fairly large bar area outside as well. The crowd was mixed with younge to older people. Drinks are priced about the same as any other bar in the burbs on weekends ($4 shots and $5 mixed drinks) The only thing I didnt like was the $5 cover for some band that sounded horrible and I didnt even listen to because we sat in the back pretty much the whole night.
Review Source:I was hoping for so much more, but left disappointed. Probably a great place for drinking, but if you advertise yourself as a restaurant you need to act like one.
The greeter was very pleasant and the wood decor is attractive. A lack of servers meant we had to wait 20 minutes to place our order. The Shepherd's Pie was bad, similar to a frozen dinner. Fish & Chips was small, and fries were undercooked. The Turporken sandwich was good, but again the fries were undercooked.
Sullivan's better get it together.
