Sully's is a no-nonsense dive bar. Drinks are cheap. The atmosphere is quiet (great for conversations). It's got some character. It's a good place for a few beers with friends.

The coolest thing about this bar is obviously the sign. Duh.

The second coolest is how much everybody at this bar DOES NOT WANT you to come in. Like, all eyes to the door, you could hear a pin drop kind of awful if you dare to step into the joint.

They're not mean, they just look at newbies like aliens or something.

i think you'll find that I am not that worried about it. I'm like a moth to a... sign.

The oldest bar in Quincy! There is a lot of history in this place. In a landscape that has changed considerably Sullys remains the same. I think that's why I enjoy it so much. Just a real old school family run bar with no nonsense regulars and bartenders. A true dive where you can disappear for a bit and not have anyone bother you. Four stars for Sullys. Plus one for the awesome neon sign in the front. Five Stars.

I went there Saturday night with a friend and saw the bartender sitting behind the bar with two of his friends. As I approached him, and said we'd like to have two beers, he looked at me( I'm Asian/American) and said to me, I'm not serving you.
Excuse me ?? Are we in America with Donkey's like this working here ?? It was Saturday October 8, 11pm 2011 . So whomever had that shift should be fired immediately. I hope that wasn't the owner. By the way, no, I was not drunk, nor belligerent , I just wanted to sit down with a pint of Guinness.

This is a genuine Dive bar.  Doesn't get much better than this.  Ordered a Sam Adam's and got Sam's seasonal Summer...no problem, except that it was January. Oh well.  The people there were pretty friendly towards our baw crawling group and we had a great time playing tunes on the Juke box.  If you're looking for a good dive, or just a good place to have a few cheap beers, this is it.

This is a great dive bar to just get drunk at. As others have said it probably hasn't changed since the 70's. One thing I know is you can request Always sunny to be put on TV and they will! Cheap drinks and cheap food are positives. A good corn beef sandwich is 3.25. Only drawback is I wish they could invest in a couple flatscreen tv's against the back wall of the bar so that you could face the bar and watch tv, but it might ruin their dive bar appearance. Don't expect to pick anyone up here just a quiet place to drink.

Sully's is a glorious step back into time, a total dive, owned by the same family for 76 years.  Looks the same as 1975 inside.  Is not pretending to be anything.  Bartender Beverly is a nice curvy middle aged woman, no silicone.

While back home visiting family over Easter, I met up with my buddy Mark for his birthday. Mark wanted a place to go have a few drinks in relative peace and quiet (in Quincy Center on a Friday night!) At first I thought we were going to be out of luck, but then I remembered my neighbor (in San Diego) going on and on about her family's bar in Quincy. Mark knew where the place was (next to Quincy courthouse) so we went to check it out- JACKPOT! Did somebody call for a hole on the wall to get drunk in?
The place was near empty- 3 men in their 60s, 2 women not much younger and a guy in his early 30s at the end of the bar who looked like he was hating life. Some might consider this a minus, but it fit the mood of the night perfectly! Nothing goes with depressants better than depression!
They had the Cs game on and no music.
The beers were cheap and the double of liquor (whiskey?) i bought for my buddy was like $5.
The bartender, Brian, is a cool shit- He's actually my neighbor's uncle!
We drank until closing talking random bullshit the whole night through. Good Times.

I finially went in after hearing positive reviews from other friends who went on a "Quincy Dive Bar Crawl". There were 3 drunk women surrounding an old Irish guy and the bartender was someone straight out of the 70's with the big glasses, mustache and thin striped polo. The bar itself was long and dark with keno, an actual cigarette machine and the end of the sox game on. The bathroom was surprisingly decent.
At first we looked like complete outsiders but then we started up a conversation with the bartender and he opened right up and told us all about the bar. Apparently it has been there for 70 years and they don't need to advertise. (although I can't even find a phone number for the place.)
Drinks are small but priced well. It would be a great place to meet up with friends and is right next door to the new Fat Cat.
Would I go back again? Definitely!
