Sunset Bottle Shop & Lounge

Went there for the first time the other night and was unimpressed.  Somehow our order got caught in the mosh and we waited for nearly an hour to get our food,  the bartender did apologize so we let it go.  However, once we got the food we were shocked at how little of it there was, I ordered the Tuscan chicken sandwich and the chicken pieces were so small they amounted to two bites.  I paid $1.99 extra for onion rings and I only got 3 rings, yep 3.  My husband ordered a BBQ bacon cheeseburger and he only got a plain cheeseburger that was smaller than a McDonalds cheeseburger.  Needless to say we didn't complain because we were starving and didn't want to wait any longer.  The most appalling thing was the disgusting state of the bar, we sat at the bar to eat and we could easily see the bartender side of the bar and were shocked at how filthy it was.  Crud and nastiness stuck to the floor that hadn't been cleaned in an obviously long time. There was built up splattered goo all down the coolers and refrigerator and the rail where the bottles are.  I worked in a bar and know that that stuff should be kept clean.  They were not busy and the bartenders were standing around, so in my bar experience, if you have time to lean then you have time to clean!  health department needs to stop in for sure.  We won't be back ever.

I have been here a several times since the new building went up. Each time has been a little worse than the last. The most recient time I went therewith 3 other people and all 4 of us thought our food was horrible. The staff however made up for it with slow service. While we were waiting for someone to seat us there were 2 employees gabbing away and paying no attention to anybody waiting. Our waitress also was just merely going through the motions and couldn't have cared less. All in all a very poor experience. Even the drinks were very marginal. Two people ordered drinks with orange juice in them and they mentioned to the waitress that the oj seemed unusually bitter or old. Her reply was " thats just how our orange juice is".. I can't imagine going back anytime soon.

Went for a beer with friends, the wings were hot and the onion rings were greasy but both were good and went well with the beer.
