I am never coming here again because the customer service here was terrible, even during peak season.
I went to Salisbury beach with 4 other people and we wanted to drink and chat.
We waited 20 mins until someone came to ask us what we wanted to drink, which was impossible because we had no menus. So I asked for waters and menus...
When we got our menus and order our food and drinks, she brought one drink over first. Then we waited, brought the other 4 drinks over, one was wrong, so one of my poor friends waited another 5 mins watching all of us drink.....
And the waters, which i asked for twice  never came. Mind you, it was 90 degrees out, thank god I ordered a frozen piña colada.
Food was nothing special, the menu was very small
I also watched the waitresses help other people, new parties before she came over to us. For example there was a family, a party bigger than mine that the waitress brought a pitcher of water and cups for them? And I had to ask twice for 1 cup that I never got??
I wish I was making this up, but I'm not.. Never again
great location on the beach, great entertainment but the food is very pricey and service is poor. Have been here 3x in the past year and they have problems with servers. Waited 40 min to just get a menu last weekend. After 15 more minutes, we passed on the food and went elsewhere. Wish I could say this was just a bad day but 3rd time, poor service. Â Go for a drink (get it at the bar) and the view.
Review Source:What a kick@$$ joint!
I tagged along one fine Saturday with my roommate, she had to come up this way for work and boy-oh-boy am I craving a Surfside 5 day right now.
It's nothing spectacular but at the same time it's that piece of sand glass that stands out on a beach walk too, among all the dirty, broken shells.
You walk in, bar and seating area - not that large but the outside deck, oh man. Â It's a sight, overlooking the ocean.. OH MAN IT'S A SIGHT - I SAID!!!
Bar staff, wait staff - awesome, friendly.
The event they had that day was a SUP race, that was fun to watch! And they also had live music on the deck, that was so cool!!!
You're literally on the beach at this place, so catching some rays, drinking some drinks and snacking on food is all a plus.. the only reason I'm giving it 4 and not 5, here is the big kicker in the behind - the food is mediocre AND they don't have french fries!!!!! Â I was up in arms about this, almost but I mean, who doesn't have fries?! Â Oh, don't substitute for the potato salad.. it is.. different. Â
Based on atmosphere, having tons of events happening and location this place is awesome, it's the sub-par food that marks off on here. Â The cesar wrap was good and the menu looks tasty but french fries man!
This place made a really nice impression on me last summer.. which is why I chose to go there for my birthday this year. I've only ever been for Sunday afternoons (4-8pm) when Hot Like Fire plays. They're an awesome reggae band and actually played at my sister's wedding!
I know there is a $10 cover charge but the entertainment is great and there is a huge deck over looking the ocean. Can't beat the music and views!!
I love coming here and look forward to it every summer. Â I go on Sunday afternoons to see the reggae band Hot Like Fire (they are awesome) and drink with friends. Â There is a huge deck outside where the band plays and a dance floor. Â Drinks can be purchased outside and the wait for drinks is never long. Â Lots of tables outside on the deck and a cover over the dance floor to get some shade on really hot days. Â Cover charge is $10...not to bad and drinks aren't too expensive either. Â They make an awesome rum punch that I can't get enough of. Â I have only eaten here once because I usually go for Cristy's Pizza afterwards. Â My sandwich was just okay.
Don't come for the food, come for the fun. Â Drinks, dancing and sunny weather by the beach. Â On Sunday's get there early or you will have to wait in a really long line. Â The place fills up quick. Â Perfect for a girls night out.
just went to drink on deck late saturday night.
fun atmosphere, got these rum punches in "mini" fishbowl glass, $12/each but i couldn't finish it.
great music.
people of all ages, all dress codes, mixing and getting along well!
perfect time.
sorry i have no info on food/waitstaff, since we bought at bar.
fun for the purpose we went there for.
will go back.
Ok, what happens when a restaurant with a deck bar area has a great location? Â I'll tell you.
Me: (after looking at the list of beers) "I'll have a Harpoon."
Bartender: "O.k."
Bartender brings drink over with an orange in it...
Me: "That's an IPA?"
Server: "Oh, no, that's a Shocktop. Â We don't have Harpoon."
O.k., so just bring me whatever you want...
It goes on...
Server: "So, you guys want to order some food?"
Hungry crew: "Yes, we'll take three lobster rolls, a twin lobster dinner, some chowder, and a caesar salad with lobster salad on top of it, o.k.?"
Server: "yeah, good choices!"
Interlude... Ten minutes passes.
Server: "uhhhh... We ran out of lobster. Â Can I get you something else?"
What is this?? Â
Save for a pretty good band that night and an awesome view of the lightning over crashing waves, this place doesn't really deserve a second look.
This is such a great location on the beach with live music. It is too bad the food sucks. I had the Lobster roll which looked like it was sitting around for a while. It had a lot of that white fat mixed in with the mayo and just did not look appetizing at all. The chowder was ok and not much in it.
Come here for music and drinks, but not to eat.
This place is a fun place with friendly staff, lively bartenders, and a huge outdoor deck (could use some outdoor heaters for the ocean breeze) overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
I was lucky to catch the last night of Surfside as they closed for the season. Â It was Reggae Sunday. Â It was fun with people dancing and having a good time and Hot Like Fire playing reggae to help fuel the fun.
Great for girl's night! My girlfriends and I went to Surfside 5 for the first time on a Friday night and I was pleasantly surprised. To be honest, I was expecting kind of a dirty, twenty-something dive. The atmosphere out on the deck is absolutely wonderful! The whole place (including the bathrooms) were very clean and the crowd was a really great mix of different ages and types. The live band was rockin' but we could still here well enough to have a conversation and the energy was great.
Granted, I have only been in once and may have a different experience on a different night, but I will definitely go back again. The service was a little on the slow side and although their website says "Bar and Grill", we did not see any menus or any food. Â If you are looking for a fun, friendly place to have a few drinks, this is a good pick.
