Table 128 Bistro + Bar

Wow night and day service from the old Tartine, not sure what the owners are thinking!

If I like a place I typically try to return on the same day/night with the hopes of having the same staff (or some of it anyhow).  Monday nights have been it for me, Tartine always great, last night was flat out terrible!

The wait staff seemed to have their heads in the air, and the food took forever, there's an obvious staff change.  I'll give it one more chance, just in case it was an extra-ordinary night, but I'm not hopeful - the place was dead and I waited almost an hour for cold soggy food.

Sometimes "don't fix it, if it isn't broke" goes a long way

I was worried when they closed Tartine to reopen as Table 128 Bistro, but it seems these worries were unfounded.  The outdoor patio is a very nice addition (the perfect late spring conditions didn't hurt any).

The new menu is interesting and I'm looking forward to returning to try several new dishes.  I particularly enjoyed the mussels and the flat bread from the small plates section and the kale Caesar salad.  

The wine and beer list is diverse, and divided into two sections:  Tried and True and Leap of Faith.  I tried a Syrah from Croatia which I'd never seen anywhere before, and it was delicious and moderately priced as well.  Lots of interesting offerings on both the beer and wine lists.
