Delicious sushi! Â This place really surprised me. I'm not from the area, and eat a lot of sushi, and was pleasantly surprise and how fresh, unique, and delicious everything was. Â On top of that, the service was very good - friendly and willing to suggest options for me (which I always ask).
The only reason this is not 5-star is for the ambiance. The interior is clean, and the bar area is nice, but the dining area is rather drab. Â Could use a little design work inside. Â
I look forward to going back!
This restaurant normally would and should get 5 stars. Â Im Yelping here because I went last night and got my usual okdal bibimbad with beef. Â The hot stone bowl with rice, veggies and beef and a fried egg on top, served with miso soup and and hot sauce on the side. Â This is an A+ meal usually. Â Last night not so good. Â The beef in the dish was meager. There was about 3 tiny slices of beef. Â And the beef was light and pale colored, not the normal looking red meat I'm used to seeing. Â The flavor was not there in the dish as a whole and there was actually less of all ingredients. Â The miso soup was even luke warm.
Review Source:This review is for the Sushi, I have not tried anything else on the menu.
The quality is very near the top on most days, on others it is still above avg.
I have sampled about everything at the sushi bar, best picks are Toro, Scallop, Salmon Belly (you must ask, it's not on the menu), Uni, Mackarel. ...serving sizes are about avg, prices are a bit higher than most.
Special Rolls and Maki Rolls are good , not great.
The restaurant is clean, modern, the service is friendly and polite.
The Sushi Chefs are very nice, and skilled with the knifes.
a gem in medfield!
clean contemporary atmosphere and very fresh, nicely presented entrees and sushi. their dumpling soup is good -- dumplings are good, and the broth is also very nice, and it's a good-sized portion. huge menu spanning korean and japanese options. entree portions seem to hug the smaller side for an asian restaurant -- aka one entree is only for one person, but this is more typical in suburban settings versus, for example, chinatown.
happy! i'll be back!
I have always enjoyed fine authentic Asian cuisine since I could raise both my toddler hands to sip soup. I recently went to Seoul Korea and Tokyo Japan where I viewed artful masterpieces and tasted first hand culinary delights. Â From my travels to the Far East my palate is more cultivated and discerning when tasting authentic Asian foods that haven't been Americanized. Â I just moved to Medfield, MA and Takara is a goldmine right around the corner from where I live. The atmosphere is serene, modern, clean, and the staff are very friendly and courteous. Â I saw the Chef behind the counter making sushi so authentic and fresh it was still moving. Â I tried many items from the menu and was very pleased at how delectable and healthy each dish tasted. The Japanese have the highest longevity in the world which is attributed their diet which is low in saturated fats, high in Omega 3's, and has medicinal benefits. I look forward to taking my friends and family here and making memories.
