A nice little spot with outdoor seating and good decor. Went for the appetizers as tapas an it's a good thing we got 3 for 2 people because they are a bit small. Â Nice presentation (a bed of greens with each did take up most of the plate) and decent taste. Â I would be more interested to come back at a later date and enjoy the bar.
Review Source:Wow. I came to update my review and found I had somehow managed to overlook actually reviewing Terra Luna. Glad I can finally rectify that!
I usually go for lunch but apparently haven't been since they expanded (looks good!). I've always enjoyed the food here though I do find some of the dinner prices a bit high, you do get a lot of tasty food for the money.
This visit I got the shrimp mofongo. Let me just say that I wish my BF was as rich as the sauce. Super yummy, great presentation, perfectly cooked shrimp. My friend got the churrasco steak. I'm not sure if they didn't mention it in the menu but she was a bit surprised by the goat cheese in her salad (her loss, my gain).
The Dominican appetizer plate was enough for more than the two of us and the dipping sauce was lovely. Tiramasu for dessert -- what can I say, they ran out of tres leches cake?
Overall quite a little gem in Lawrence.
My 3 friends and I came here for lunch under the gun for time. I ordered the Chicken Avocado. Horrible. It tasted as though someone pan fried purdue chicken selects. All our food arrived staggered, not all at once. They gave one of the guys a 'BLT' that wasn't, then arrived with a BLT 10 minutes later. The SLOWEST lunch service I've ever had. The food isn't good and the service is indifferent. Â One waiter had headphones in. Â Skip this place & hit the hot dog cart down the street.
Food: subpar
Service: SLOW & unprofessional
Drinks: low beer selection but huge liquor selection
I don't normally go out of my way to write a review unless the experience was either terribly bad or unbelievably awesome. In Terra Luna's case mine was the latter. I can't believe I live so close to this gem and had not tried it. Everything was delicious from the chicken quesadilla app, to the mojito, the churrasco and the tiramisu was the best I've ever had. The ambience is without par in the city. Went with a Living Social voucher to try it and this has now become my fav local spot!!!
Review Source:I've been here several times (usually at night) for drinks, conversation, and let's not forget...dancing. This spot is slightly the higher end bar/night scene in Lawrence which is surprisingly refreshing from the rest of the places in that area.
Recently, I went to there for dinner and tried the Shrimp Mofongo accompanied with a couple of drinks. DO NOT TRY their mojito because it was awful. Their Shrimp Mofongo is okay, not too sure why people are raving about it.
The staff gets an A+ for their attentiveness and the location good.
My first visit made me want to go back. Â Friendly, attentive service and fresh, reasonably priced offerings. I'll have to go back a few more times and try different things to add to this but, for today, I'll tell you their caprese salad was pretty fabulous in both taste and presentation.
I love the outdoor seating and that they have WiFi. Â This may not be a big deal to most but, when the main branch of the public library doesn't have WiFi, I love a breezy option where I can bring my laptop, relax, and enjoy.
So I read the reviews and I was really looking forward to trying Terra Luna with a few friends. Â We went to the restaurant at 145 yesterday after seeing that they were open at 11, then saw that the sign that said they were open at 2 on weekends so we waited until 230 but sadly it was still closed. Â Pretty annoying...a sign saying we will be closed would've been nice.
Review Source:I was looking for participating restaurants in the United Dining program and Terra Luna showed up in a local search. I probably would have never found it otherwise, but I'm glad I did. It's situated right across the Lawrence City Hall and across the street from the public park - great scenic area.
Ambience: Modest, but tastefully decorated. Cafe turns to a bar at night and can hold about 40-50 people.
Food: I had the tuna melt with waffle fries to go. For $5.95 + tax, I can't complain at all. The sandwich was very good!
Service: Two people were working when I arrived for lunch. Pleasant and friendly.
Price: $7 all-in. Enough said.
I'll be here again. In the summer, this definitely would be a great spot to go to if you don't want to venture into Boston. The patio set-up outside coupled with a good view of downtown historic Lawrence makes this establishment an enticing choice for a night out.
