I'm only giving this place two stars because of organization problems. The hostess has no concept of time. If you want a better review from me, I consider to not under exaggerate how long the wait will be. A few minutes I'm fine with, but almost an hour is inexcusable.
For this particular visit I opted for call ahead seating. The told me over the phone the wait would be 1 and a half hours so I showed up at the recommended fifteen minutes early. Once I got there they gave me my pager and said it would be about ten minutes before I got seated. I was there for another hour before my pager went off.
The food is good, but that doesn't make up for the terrible time mismanagement this restaurant has.
Every time I go there this is an issue. This is not an isolated incident.
One more thing. If there are any fire marshals out there. Please visit this restaurant during peak dining times. I would love to see this place packed with a huge fine because of everyone waiting to be seated is packed in like sardines. I guarantee that is a big safety hazard and violates the capacity rating. It's so bad people cannot get in or out of the restaurant.
Great place for a steak. Â Being from Washington State where our only semi-cheap restaurant is Outback Stake House, where the FBI and CIA would be proud with their interrogation methods by hanging booth lights so low that it gives anyone without a migraine history a migraine, Any other steak house in our area charges too much where we have nightmares after visiting. Â We were looking for a good steak restaurant for a modest price. Â We visited this place on Jan 2 and were happy with the results. Â We arrived early, before 5:30 PM, and were seated in two booths, one for the children and one for the adults. Â All food arrived at the same time and was excellent. Â The steaks and sides were prepared to perfection. Â The service and price was excellent. Â We were seated, ordered, and was served in under an hour. Â Great, great, great place if you know when to visit. Â Outstanding service that earned more than the normal 15 percent tip. Â Appreciate this place...some don't have the luxury.
Review Source:Texas Roadhouse is one of those nicely appointed chains that looks like it could be pretty good, especially with it's line out the door on a Friday near 8 pm with a snowstorm going on outside. Â It has to be decent right? Â It killed the restaurant next to it didn't it?
Pros:
+ The prices for the portions are all pretty good.
+ They're willing to put cheese on almost anything.
+ They have this pretty little display case in the front of the restaurant with all kinds of meat in it.
+ Chili has a lot of great flavor to it.
Cons:
- The steak isn't that good of quality. This is a serious issue at a restaurant where steak is a staple.
- Â Additionally, whoever said the chef cooks how he wants, is pretty much spot on. Â I asked for mid-rare, I'm pretty sure that steak was just short of running off the plate. (yum to me, but could be a real issue if you actually want your steak cooked to what you ordered)
- The chili had a great flavor, and at least two pieces of grizzle. Â The cup of chili wasn't that big.
- Â The fries were meh. Â They were dry, didn't have enough cheese, and the cheese they had didn't taste very cheesy. Â The bacon was the best part.
Overall, the problem with Texas Roadhouse is pretty simple, at some point, quality got pushed aside for quantity. Â Everything just is overwhelmingly mediocre. Â It's makes for a simple, stick to your ribs meal, but it's not quite the most satisfying feeling. Â Not a bad time, just go with low expectations, and grab a giant margarita from them, it'll be fine.
