Well, what can I say? The first time I discovered Three Sheets was through Yelp. As most reviewers had stated, the place looks SUPER GHETTO on the outside (Hell, it doesn't even look like a bar!). I was actually hesitant about going inside. But, I told myself, since I already made the drive out here, I might as well have one drink and then leave.

Well, as soon as I opened the door and stepped inside........

Do you remember back in school when a friend had their parent's house all to themselves? And threw a house party? That's what Three Sheets feels like! It feels like all of your friends are there. It's like the hottest girls from your school were there...and nobody told you about the party and you just stumbled into it.

Adam, the owner/bartender/waiter/bar-back/manager, is cool as shit and so is his crew. Furthermore, like someone else mentioned, their customers are cool as shit as well. Blacks, whites, Asians, Hispanics...young and old...everyone is just chilling and laughing and talking to each other. Plus, the prices are cheap and the food is DAMN good (not your typical bar food).

Man, I've been to a LOT of places around the world. And I was totally surprised by the ambiance that I would find in a little lounge in (of all places) Houston, TX. And that ambiance is the feeling of a house party at a friend's house...nice!!!

This is definitely a dive bar, and I definitely like it. The prices are great, and the people who hang out here are really friendly. There is karaoke on certain weekend nights, and it's great because it's not so packed that you have to wait an hour and tip the karaoke host an arm and a leg to be able to sing a song (though you should of course tip them, they're really fun :).

I am a fan of low key establishments and the staff was nice. The patrons were polite and there was no trouble despite all the diversity (income/race/etc) - a big melting pot. I didn't like the limited selection of beer and the bar was quite dirty with limited seating (during peak hours). Interesting place but not my cup of tea.

This is the epitome of the neighborhood bar. Good for me, because I'm in the neighborhood! As many others have pointed out, the exterior often steers people away, but once you get past it things are all good. Friendly staff, good drinks, a mean steak on Thursdays, sports, and karaoke keep the locals coming in on the regular. We have since become those regulars as well :) A great spot for any day of the week.

Stranded in Houston, needed to watch the Alabama vs. LSU game and saw all the reviews here and found myself here. Excellent food, service, and cheap drink. They just need bigger TV's that's all.

I can only review for their karaoke because I didn't really drink or eat anything.

Songs were pretty up to date if you ask for a certain song and see if he has it.

Honestly I couldn't say a bad thing about Three Streets. I was very hesitant about coming to this bar but I was wrong. For starters the owners are amazing! They have great parties for each holiday and other random themed night through out the year. Great drinks and never a boring moment!

I was introduced to this dive about a month ago and there hasn't been one weekend yet that we haven't stopped in for a drink and some karaoke shennanigans. I really like this place, it's so low maintenance and I love that we can just roll up and just chill. No extra frills, just cheap drinks and friendly dive atmosphere.

dont let the ugly strip center fool you - there is a lot to like about three sheets!

if i said nothing else, the simple fact that they feature a handful of local and regional MICRO-BREWS on tap as well as a stash of even more interesting bottles (ask, they tend not to keep them on obvious display) - makes them a huge, MASSIVE stand out in a sea of area cookie-cutter, franchise bars. (the fact that they got their hands on a keg of this years divine reserve says a lot!)

a good liquor selection (including good scotch) and they're doing some really interesting vodka infusions lately. try a bloody mary with the ghost pepper infused vodka - POW!

the two new (as of late summer 2012), high quality and well lit dartboards are nice. there are also several TVs, internet jukebox, golden tee. the usual stuff.

the experience is what you choose to make it. if you present yourself as approachable and make an effort to engage you will likely be engaged. but if you just want to sit quietly and enjoy your own company, nobody will bother you.

they always have something fun going on food wise. every night features some home-cooked special. there is also a variety of typical "bar food" stuff and several unique house-made offerings.

its not pretty or overly refined. but it's a superb little neighborhood dive in an area full of trashy, chain or otherwise uninteresting establishments

Very nice staff. Very nice patrons.

They normally have a decent scotch. There is a girl there who is pretty good at specialty shots. I'm not typically one for girly drinks but after a double shot of scotch on the rocks, I actually enjoyed an Asian Persuasion.

I'd come back again if I were in the area.

Such a fun bar! Karaoke Thursday - Saturday, great bartender, and super enjoyable guests. You feel like family as soon as you walk in the door. I found this spot doing laundry next door on a day that I REALLY needed a drink -- I've been a regular since.

The AC has been broken :( BUT as of today, they have a BRAND NEW AC unit, so it will be marvelously chilly. See you at karaoke :)

Rough and lambasted exterior when viewed from the road, like a place where people in paint splattered holey shirts, drinking tall boys straight from the can and starting fights from what ever dive bar brawls start with. Yet at the same time, it reminds me of a haunted house that need exploring. Plus the reviews on yelp has been good.

Which means to gather a few friends, work out the ground rules of exploration:

1. Would the area yield quick police response times?
2. Put on your worst T shirt, and leave the slacks and sweater at home.
3. Safe word for the "escape" and possibly nick names.
4. Dont make any direct eye contact.

But stepping in to the rabbit hole leaves a fresh outlook(Yelp's right for once!). It's so disarming that you feel like you been here all along, and there's no reason to leave. Maybe it's the foods, staff or the music, and this could be a second home. There is even bonus original drinks and the evil Golden T game.

Food:

Pot Sticker/Dumplings: 4 per order, cool sauce. B+

Steak(picture) and potato: Steaks the size of a spare tire, leaving barely room for the potato on the plate. Comes in any way you want it, with all the dressings and cheap! A

Chex Mix bowl looking thing with Chicharone- It's like Robin to the Batman(Beer). A

After a ten or fifteen minutes, Three Sheets start to feels like your buddy's house without the nagging girl friend. There just needs a few more couches thrown about, as the back couches were already taken like being late to a college house party. Journey, Blue oyster Cult splashing in the back ground, as this place just flows smoothly on cruise control.

All's well here unless you make the mistake of drinking the Jack & coke slushies too quick.

Yes it does look pretttty shady from the outside, but it's a total blast on the inside. Young hip staff and people. If your looking for a local bar and to have a good time with your friends, I would definitely recommend Three Sheets!! Karaoke is always fun too!

One night in Houston. One night to remember. This place is nothing but an enabler.

Their services will ensure that you get the best out of the evening. My cousins PJ and Nico are regulars here and I now understand why.

Where else can you get a steak, shots, and karaoke all in one bar? Well, this is the first I've experienced that. And I've been to over 100 different bars in San Diego too, to prove it.

http://www.yelp.com/list…

I would probably rank my one night here in Houston as my top 20 greatest nights of all time. It was that good. The shots that they can make is just mind altering..including the infamous "Lap Dance." It's not just famout. It's infamous.

I had several other good ones that night too. Good times, great people, I had nothing but great memories here this evening...well the ones that I can remember.

Great people, food and drinks! All of the reviews (the good ones anyway) are spot on. Three Sheets has a great crew (staff as well as the regulars) who treat you like family starting on your first visit. The food and drinks are always great! Egg rolls, pork chops, fajitas....Lap Dance, frozen screwdrivers, Elissa...Three Sheets is the total package; great for a Friday night party, or a quick drink after work.

I have a feeling we'll be going back VERY soon!

I use Yelp to find local joints when I travel for work and once again Yelpsters have knocked one out of the park. As others have mentioned, this place is definitely unassuming as it sits in the corner of a strip mall, but the folks on the inside made the cautious walk through the front door worth it.

From one of the owners down to the locals stopping by for a drink, everyone made me feel welcome. I arrived shortly after five and there were just a couple people at the bar. They had four beers on tap and my favorite ended up being the Saint Arnold Elissa. I wasn't sitting at the bar more than 5 minutes when Cook, one of the owners, asked my name and started talking with me like I was a regular.

The menu is small, but offers a blend of Asian and American options. I was torn between the Vietnamese eggrolls and potstickers as an appetizer and was talked into the eggrolls by Cook. She makes them by hand and offered me a spicy dipping sauce to go with them. They came out crisp and hot and were delicious. The dipping sauce had just enough kick to make my taste buds dance. Overall it was a great start.

After another 45 minutes of sipping Elissa and talking with some regulars, I was torn again between a banh mi sandwich that is always on the menu and the daily special of smothered pork chop with rice and green beans for dinner. I went with the daily special and it was a great choice. The pork chop was very tender and the mushroom ladened gravy was tasty. The rice was cooked to perfection and the green beans tasted like my Mom made them.

They sold out of the daily special while I was there as just about every regular that came in either ate a plate there or took one to go. Side note on the regulars, I've been in plenty of "dive" or "townie" bars, but this one was the closest to Cheers that I've seen. The bartender and Cook knew everyone's name and all of the regulars knew each other as well. The atmosphere was great. A real, authentic neighborhood bar is always a great find in my book.

Initially I was looking for a place to throw my karaoke party at since Spotlight was booked until two months after my birthday. What I found instead was something even better!

The establishment is your typical bar's bar - nothing fancy but the people that work there is definitely what brings that place together and reels you back in for more. Adam (the bar owner) was more than accommodating when I told him a day prior that I wanted to throw my party there. He even paid the DJ an extra hour so that my group of 25+ could sing an hour before the regulars start coming in.

The food was not fantastic (I wasn't a fan of the shrimp&pasta they were serving that evening instead of fajitas in observance of lent) but I'm willing to give them a second chance when I come back.

Yes the outside surroundings are a bit different. My friends all made a comment about the Washateria next door - but things like that don't bother me and the neighborhood wasn't a horrible place to be in.

Due to the great service and fun atmosphere - I'm proud to give them 5 stars! And considering it's only 15 minutes from my townhome - I think I will definitely be coming back here a few more times - especially for karaoke nights on Thursdays and Fridays where I know I won't have to wait long to sing my heart out.

One of the best bars in Houston. Service is top notch, the drinks are well priced and well made, and it holds a very friendly crowd that welcomes everyone ( just leave your drama at the door). Come to Three sheets for some of the best home cooked food during the week, awesome steaks on Thursday and fun as ever karaoke. Three sheets is a home away from home, you need to check it out.

So far my best place to do karaoke, the staff goes over and beyond to make you feel at ease while having fun. The location might have you second guess but once your in you will forget, but who wouldn't with the great food and DRINKS they serve up super cheap and strong :) While on stage they take your pic also and put it on there FB page so you can always look back and enjoy this moment with others while making you seem like your really giving a performance lol I killed Maroon 5. So all in all I give an A+ Peace,Fun,Love & Three Sheets

Came here last night after seeing that they were featured with Yelp's Drink Week. Judging from the outside appearance/surrounding businesses, I was a little hesitant about the place, but I'm glad we came in. Trust me, the inside is nothing like the outside! It's a great atmosphere, the service is attentive and friendly, and makes you feel very welcome. We chatted with the owners and bartender for quite a while, and they were really, really nice people. We were given free Lapdances (shots, not actual dances) for being first-time customers.. very sweet and delicious. Their frozen screwdrivers are great too. I'll definitely be back another time to try out their food and a few more drinks. :D

Decided to come via yelp & I will agree the reviews are spot on.

I actually had been to Elegant Hogg, Pigg, whatever it was before it was called Three Sheets. But repeating what a lot of others have to say, the staff is really cool & really friendly. I felt like a "regular" right away.

My friend & I came on a Saturday night and there might have been 15 - 25 people throughout the night. It was a varied crowd and they were all equally chill. I ended up chit chatting with different people every time I went up to the bar.

I think her name was Cookie(? couldnt really hear when she introduced herself after she sang some karaoke) but she was incredibly sweet and did get us to try the Lap Dance shot. She told us that they will be having a crawfish boil next weekend to celebrate their one year and I think I may have to partake in the festivities.

Cheap drinks, good patrons, karaoke, darts & great staff. "Cookie" asked how we heard about Three Sheets and she was really happy when I mentioned yelp :)

Where do I start! Absolutely the cutest & most endearing staff u could ever want to tip! Especially with cute lil Gege. :-b

This is hidden in a shady looking strip center, but like another review said, "do not let that discourage you." I'm not a racist, but I would be cautious of my surroundings around there. But they are a hidden gem. They look much better on the inside then out. It's so warm and cozy inside. If you ever watched How I Met Your Mother, it gave me a little of a MacLaren's Pub feeling.

Although the menu is the size of a slightly larger postcard, I tried the chicken wings, which looked burnt but surprisingly flavorful and juicy. This Wednesday was "Kung Food" day offered Pork and Shrimp Lo Mein for under 6 bucks and is SOOOO much better than those crappy Chinese delivery places. (Thursdays are the steak night, which I do plan on trying tomorrow.) The potstickers are also tasty, but the jalapeno poppers are jalapeno poppers. How do you go wrong with jalapeno poppers?

I went to Three Sheets a few times before last night (New Years). I think its a great neighborhood hangout type of place. On New Years I decided I wanted to keep it low key. The people were friendly and we had fun. It is close to my house and we did not have to get all dressed up. There were all types of people there. The drinks were not bad we bought 3 drinks and 2 shots of premium tequila for $25. There was complementary champagne and food also. I normally would have spent easily $100 and would have had to buy a new dress and new shoes in Montrose.

I decided to check this place out because of the unanimously high rating on Yelp but came out disappointed. I went there with my girlfriend on Friday night and there were a lot of guesses at the bar. Nobody greeted us, no waitress, no host. I didn't know what to do so I sat at the table and wait for somebody to give us attention but it seemed like the bartender (only staff I noticed) was too busy having fun with guesses at the bar. After 10 minutes sitting there for nothing we decided to leave and went to somewhere else that was more welcome.

After seeing all the glorious reviews from Anthony N's post UYE I had to trek out to the westside to see this place for myself.

It's a dive by all definitions. But that's what makes it so wonderful. The westside has a spot they can just come to and relax.

They have a small patio area out front and once you enter there are a few more tables and plenty of counter space. They have a variety of bar food items along with some asian food dishes, as they had banh mi. They also put together a daily special, on this day it was stew, which was quite good.

The drink specials were great and dirt cheap. It looks like they have karaoke on certain nights and I could see how this place could really be rocking.

I had to go to Houston with the wife this weekend, and after spending all day Saturday tending to some IT work at her office we decided we needed a drank or two. She hit up Yelp, and after a little searching she saw the great reviews for Three Sheets and suggested we check it out. Seeing as how it was about 5 miles down the road we decided we'd give it a go.

We were a little concerned upon turning up into the parking lot - the exterior definitely didn't look like our kinda place. Suffice to say that it's marginal looking from the outside. I mean, it's in a dumpy little strip center right next to a laundromat with bars on the windows.

DO NOT LET THAT DISSUADE YOU!

We bravely ventured in and were greeted warmly, as if we were regulars. We grabbed a table near the back, where karaoke was being set up for the night. The place is a bit of a dive inside and we figured we'd have one drink then go find somewhere else.

Nope.

We left 5 hours later at 2AM after enjoying several excellent and cheap drinks (be sure to try a Lap Dance and a Jack Frost), really tasty appetizers (the egg rolls were killer!), and yes, we actually sang a little karaoke after consuming enough liquid talent. Everyone we met there was friendly, and the staff / owners make sure you're having a good time. I felt like I was at a friend's basement party in the late 70's.

Next time I have to go to Houston, Three Sheets will be at the top of my list of bars to visit. Love this place!

There's not much I can say about this bar that hasn't been said already. I've been to many a bars with a friend of mine who doesn't drink and this is the first one she said she'd love to go back to.

The bartenders are cute, attentive and friendly. When I got my bill I had to do a double take, I told the bartender there must have been a mistake. I had 3 drinks, 1 beer and a noodle soup and it only came up to 10 BUCKS! I know... unbelievable right. Trust me, normally I'm not quick to point out a missing drink on my tab but I just had to say something. But no, my bill was correct, their drinks are just that cheap.

The patrons are pretty cool too. Every time I went to get another drink a lady or fella would chat me up which is nice since I'm very shy.

The bar is nothing fancy, so leave your Prada and pretentious attitudes at home. I think I even spotted the owner wearing basketball shorts.

At the risk of repeating what's already been written, I walked in to Three Sheets thinking "what am I doing in this place" and left four hours later loving it. Don't come here looking for a restaurant: it's a local watering hole with very limited, but very good food, and God-awful karaoke (Your opinion may vary :-) ) Comfortable, but unpretentious. The owners (Adam and his beautiful wife) are awesome. You must ask Adam for a Lap Dance - not what you might think, and well worth it ( and can't be had anywhere else!).

The drinks are very generous. If you're from out of town, let them know. Adam started the night by telling me he was only charging me half price for my wine because my glass was only half full - which makes it twice as full as the last bar I went to, where I was charged full price!

I'll be back Thursday for the Rib-eye steak! ...and another lap dance! Brace yourself, Adam! lol.

This is my new favorite bar! The owners are fantastic and the crowd and ambiance are perfect. Everyone I have met here has been so incredible. Sorry if ya'll missed out on their Crawfish Boil on Saturday because it was awesome. And the music supplied by my favorite band Just Us really kept the party going all day and into the night.

But this is more than just a karaoke or live music bar. They come up with fun themes like movie night on Sunday where we all showed up in our PJ's, they made us chocolate chip waffles and we all watched the Breakfast Club! There is something for everyone here.

I also love all of the food. The friend pickles are great, and the egg rolls are served with a super spicy type soy sauce that kicks butt! I love their ramen noodles when I'm feeling nostalgic and my boyfriend is in love with their bahn mi sandwiches.

This is a new kind of bar. It's not a dive....it's a second home!

Anthony N. fatefully lead us here post a UYE at Loving Hut and all I can say is, bless that Anthony!

I guess we were all feeling a little adventurous after the vegan feasting (even me, as a vegan . . .?) so we headed to this neighborhood bar neighboring a laundromat.

To be honest, I was quite apprehensive about this place at first. It kind of felt like an "only regulars" kind of place. I can be twitchy about trying new bars outside my comfort zone (Montrose and Midtown), so I kind of hung back while Anthony cheerfully greeted the owners.

After we notified the bartender/co-owner(?) that we were newcomers, he did what any respectably generous bartender would do - hooked us up with some fruity delicious shots to take the edge off. And that's all it took for me to fall in love with Three Sheets.

Okay well, that's simplifying. The staff here was awesome, like really. So warm and friendly, engaging and hugely proficient with shelling out decent inexpensively-priced drinks with a mere nod of your head. The patrons were similarly in good spirits. That sort of thing is infectious for me so can you believe it, I actually mustered up the guts to karaoke after Nigel M. finished his number. That happens like once every two or so years - really! That's how at-ease I felt after an hour in this strange land with strangers. I don't care how cheesy this sounds, but I totally felt at home here. Everyone was just so goshdarn friendly and nice. *warm fuzzies*

Three Sheets offers a different themed entree every day of the week and I've heard nothing but raves from participating patrons.

So I can't say I frequent this part of Houston too often, but I seriously will consider heading back to Three Sheets the next time happen to be nearby. Love!

It's in a little shopping plaza. Do I get to call it a dive bar? I believe it's owned by an asian couple. Or maybe they just manage the place. Either way, the staff is WAY friendly. they even bought our group a round of their special shot. They had Karaoke on the night that we were there. It was the middle of the week, Tues or maybe Wed. Their drink prices are great. My bill was about half what I was expecting, considering the amount of alcohol we bought.

Can I talk about their porkchops? Wow. A Fellow Yelper pronounced, "The secret ingredient.... is CRACK!" It might as well be. Call and ask when they're making them, then hurry on over and try some. I could almost swear they marinate or cook it in shrimp paste or something indescribable, yet oh-so-delicious.

I am here to point out the obvious missed detail in every one of these reviews! The crowd!

For the Women: Want someone HOT, whose quick w his hands;) as ur Bartender? ( I found where he's been hiding!) Wednesdays and Saturday nights...(his name is Travis) My GOD (thats all i've gotta say), AND! and he pays attention to detail-always ready to fill me up for more by my last sip, my kind of man;)

For the Men: I've seen some hott women pop in this place! Brazilian, Colombians, and of course the classic white-gotta love the array of possibilities all in one spot. ;)

This is a bar where u could DEF show up alone for an "after work drop-by" drink,as a couple, or even as a group and STILL manage to have enough space to be left alone w a drink and a marathon conversation (b/c the music doesn't suck in the ENTIRE ambiance of this place-which is nice!), or mingle w others over a game of darts, karaoke -some nights, or even the dance wii system they have in the corner will provide a fun-filled evening.

For the smokers, they have a good size patio out front thats never neglected by staff, and a HUGE Golden Tee and even a Mega Touch machine at the end of the bar for the ocassional obsessive game player.

I HEAR ( b/c i have only came in there for the margaritas, lap dance shots, bartender, and dart games, i haven't "personally" ate the food) but i hear, its pretty good and not the typical "fried bar food". Steak nights are Wednesday; good place to head out to for a cheap home-cooked dinner if u ask me.
As for the place itself: A hidden gem! When they talk about a hole in the wall place to go to, that only the locals would know about where it's at, THIS is it!

Great people, great entertainment, great food!

Was here for karaoke night on Friday, James is the bomb!
Started with Jambalaya that was very tasty. Service was great and had the lucky opportunity to meet the friendly owners and staff.
Also, the signature shot, it's liquid delish!
