Great atmosphere - plenty of people - and a good time had by all.

After being turned away from the staff at The Tavern down the street - we came to this little jewel in the same small town and had a blast.

Food is great, service (considering how busy they were) was very good.

Our only complaint was that they poured their mixed drinks very light on the alcohol. We had to send two drinks back because it was 98% coke, 1% ice, and 1% Crown.

Outside of that - it's good service, food, and atmosphere. Recommended if you're ever in Louisburg.

PS - check out the corn maze down the road during the fall!

This is a review of the bar aspect of this business, not the restaurant aspect.

Timbercreek Bar & Grill appears to serve as Louisburg's main gathering spot. It's a huge space, divided into several rooms. The bar area occupies over half of the public area of the building.

The bar is a central U-shaped island in the middle of a large room filled with booths and tables. One side of the room has a stage for bands and karaoke. Outside the opposite side is an outdoor seating area, an appealing deck well-shaded by umbrellas and the woods behind the building.

There are several TVs throughout the place, an older CD jukebox, and several video games. (Including Golden Tee, Pac Man, a hunting game, and a jet ski game.) A separate room near the entrance houses the pool tables.

Bottled domestic beer is a little pricey here, but it's important to pay attention to the specials.    We could have had Boulevard draws for half the price we paid for our Miller Lite bottles had we bothered to look at the specials first.

Most of the reviews I have read online about this place complain about all the smokers.    While once July comes it would have had no choice but to go smoke-free due to a statewide ban, Timbercreek has already gone nonsmoking early and there was no trace of lingering smoke smell to be found.

Because of the sheer size of the place, and because it's so clean and well maintained, it unfortunately felt like I was at a suburban national chain bar & grill instead of a local business.    That's the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 4, the fact that it feels more corporate than homegrown.
