$35 for a small pizza salad drink? Ridiculous. How about a refill on my drink?

Timberloft Pizzeria is where I overheard the true definition of ARTISANAL.

Server: What style of pizza?  Uh... it's ARTISANAL.
    Customer: What's arty-snail?
Server: Umm... ARTISANAL.  It's like custom hand-made.  So artisanal is like... well like... we make it here.  And it's artisanal cause... cause sometimes it'll be like THICK pizza.  And sometimes it'll be like THIN pizza.  And like sometimes, cause it's artisanal, the pizza will be like real thick in one part and real thin in another.  Cause it's ARTISANAL.

    definition:
artisanal (ärt-ze-nel) adj. : poorly made or made without regard to quality

This is so dishearting! I do not like give negative reviews, but this place is a major fail.

We ordered the Margarita pizza, the pizza crust is like the consistency of a cracker, the pizza sauce is bland and completely flavorless, the cheese is bland as well, the tomatoes were fresh and the only good thing on the whole pizza. I really think they need to invest in some salt and seasonings, and decent pizza dough.

2 stars only for the fact the pizza was hot, they do have friendly customer service and provided us with paper plates, napkins and utensils.

Just awful. We only went here due to camping lightly as part of a road trip, this meant we had little food prepared to consume at the campsite. The pizzas were terrible, they taste like they're heated from frozen, and the prices will make you laugh - $16 for a tiny cheese and tomato pizza. Avoid!

Okay Yelpers- I was almost scared off by the reviews of this place-- but come on Elites.. this is a pizzeria in the middle of the Sierra mountains-- its not Brooklyn. With that said, this was a fine establishment for what it was.  Yes, the crust was a bit bland, but the toppings were tasty & they offer unique pizza choices (our had balsamic vinegar drizzled on top-- yum!). The staff is very friendly, and food arrived in an average amount of time. If you are walking over from the Tenaya Lodge, the signage can be confusing.. but don't give up- the pizzeria does exist. Just stay to your left.... ;o)

A good family place to stop and fuel up.. Don't expect 4 stars-- just enjoy the pizza and friendly staff!!

Hope you like random bursts of very loud country music!

Also paper plates for dining in? Do we outright HATE mother nature?

    Just don't go there.

I agree with the other reviews that the pizza crust is bad. But after some very negative experiences at two of the other Tenaya lodge eatery options, we gave it a try.  Our server actually seemed happy that we had come in to eat which was a nice change.

This was undoubtable the worst pizza we have ever eaten...and it's too bad because the place looks decent.  First of all, the 10 inch pizza was about 7 inches.  The crust was VERY bland and had a large edge on it so the ingredients had maybe 5 inches to fill, which means, there was little else but the crust.  It was nearly raw and no amount of parmesan could make it taste better.

The salad bar looked very good though....so skip the pizza and enjoy that  if you don't have any where else to eat.

The absolute worse pizza I have ever had. Literally tasted like nothing! Horrible and weird tasting. It tasted like bisquick! Ew

My husband and I stopped at the Timberloft Pizzeria on the way home from Yosemite.  Thankfully I didn't have service on my iphone in time to read all the nasty reviews it has received from other Yelpers because we might not have gone...we loved it!

First of all the atmosphere is lovely...3 flat screen tvs as opposed to the 1 that someone else had said, and a FREE Jukebox where you can choose the music that you want to hear.  It is nestled up in the cottage area of the Tenaya Lodge and is decorated with cute little mountain-ey things.

The pizza is pretty good, yes the bread is kind of like a cracker..very thin but I know a lot of people that love their crust that way.  I enjoyed my pepperoni pizza, it was covered in thick cheese which I love!

The staff were very friendly and helpful.  There were about three or four young men working there and for a while we were the only table in the place, until a few large parties came in.  Each of the young men made sure we had full drinks and checked on us frequently.  They each said goodbye to us when we walked out...very nice!

A plus: Their paper plates are "Tree-Free" which is great for a place like this that is so connected to Yosemite National Park.

Another plus:  The staff gave us %10 off because we are locals...or kind of.  My in-laws have a house in Bass Lake that we frequently stay at...anyway it was very nice of them.

So...good pizza, great atmosphere, nice staff...a good place to stop when you are coming in or out of the park!

Get some microwave pizzas for your room & you will be doing yourself a favor.  The salads were beyond barely edible.  The pasta was a hearty portion but lacked any spice more like school cafeteria pasta.  Definitely heated to order.   The pizza was lackluster with cardboard crust.

There's must be something about the flavor of dough rising at altitude; the pizza here had the weirdest, non-flavorful (but super thick) dough I've ever tasted.  It was more like a very plain bread than a pizza dough.  And the tomato sauce was so sweet, the wife and I joked that they must have mistaken "cherry tomatoes" for an instruction to mash in some super sweet cherries with the tomatoes.  Wife had margherita; I had a modified pepperoni.  Very odd pizzas, to say the least.

Service was about what you'd expect from local high schoolers.  Atmosphere?  Not a lot.  One widescreen TV (apparently connected to a standard-def signal - grr!) and a jukebox that occasionally burped up a 60's classic in an attempt to get someone to put in some $$$...

Speaking of $$, expect to pay $15 for the 10" "individual" pizza and about $18 for the 16" "large" pizza.

One plus: the salad bar.  It's about 6 bucks to go once; $8 for all you can eat.  After our pizza came, the wife "upgraded" her $6 salad to the all you could eat deal.  We wrapped up the margherita pizza and took it with us for a picnic the next day, and it was better that way.

Advice: Go for the salad bar, plus maybe a pasta at this pizzeria, and you might not be disappointed.

Timberloft Pizzeria is good for what it is...a pizza place in the middle of a forest.  =)

We were staying at the Tenaya Lodge and upon arrival, we passed the Timberloft Pizzeria...just imagining a hot slice of pizza was enough for our group to try it out.  It's separate from the lodge because there are "cottages" you can reserve in addition to hotel rooms so this pizzeria is in the cottage area.

First off, this is a very kid-friendly place to be...probably the most kids of any other place at Tenaya Lodge.  It's very logical to me why families eat here - the price per person is the best and with lots of hungry mouths to feed, it's obviously the best value.  There were four people in my group (all adults) and we were seated in about 5-10 minutes.  It can get quite busy I'm guessing on weekends and peak dinner hours.  We sat down, ordered sodas and obviously decided on pizza although they do have pasta on the menu as well.  My group decided to order two large pizzas (16" each - they have smaller 10" pizzas too).  They have some specialty pizzas and you also have the option of making your own.  We decided on the Timberloft special and a margherita pizza.  They do make them to order so it takes a bit of time but once they arrived, it was actually quite tasty.  It's a little more rustic than a pizza hut or domino's but I really liked it.

The Timberloft special had pepperoni, sausage, ham, canadian bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms and olives I think.  It was a bit too meaty but ultimately very tasty.  The margherita pizza was also pretty tasty with fresh tomatoes, mozarella and basil.  If you have picky eaters, pick your own toppings but each topping is a dollar extra so don't go too crazy.  Two pizzas was more than enough for four people...we actually had about 4-5 slices leftover of each pizza so.  It came out to be around $18 a person with pizza, sodas, tax and tip which isn't bad considering the amount of pizza leftover.

I definitely think it's a good place for families but it can get crowded.  If you don't mind the noise of children, it's also a good deal.  But if you want a bit more of an adult crowd, eat at the restaurants within the Tenaya - Jackalope's Bar & Grill has decent pub/diner-like good while Sierra Restaurant is a good place for yummy breakfast.  There's also Embers (a "fancy" restaurant) and a deli inside to pick up snacks, drinks and sandwiches if you're on the go.  If you're not up to paying higher prices, there's a Little Caesar's Pizza place in Oakhurst.  =)

Some friends and I ate here after a 10 mile hike in Yosemite.  We were exhausted and didn't feel like going back to camp to make dinner.  We saw this place on the way into the park and decided to stop and check it out.  We got sat right away and placed our order for 2 large pizzas.

Instead of spending the extra money for specialty pizzas, we went with cheese pizzas and added our own toppings.  We made a sausage and mushroom one and a pepperoni and artichoke hearts one.  The pepperoni one was the best.  The sausage was really salty.  They don't mess around with the cheese either.  They were some of the cheesiest pizzas I'd ever had.  When we boxed up the rest, the box was pretty heavy from all the cheese!

The service was fine.  She checked on us a couple of times to take our order, but we were glad to sit down with some water when we first got there.  However, we did ask for some forks since the pizza was so gooey from the cheese and she took her time getting them for us.  She said she was looking for them and ended up giving another table their forks first.  One of my friends had to go to the kitchen to see what was taking so long.

All in all, this place was pretty decent to some exhausted hikers that had just completed a 10 mile hike.  We would have probably eaten any thing at that point.

First off, this review is only for the service since we did not even get our order taken.

So the lady friend and I took a nice weekend trip to Yosemite and stayed at the Tenaya Lodge for the weekend.  There are no other restaurants within a reasonable driving distance from the hotel, so our options were limited to the choices provided by the hotel.  The first thing that caught our eyes was the Timberloft Pizzeria.  On our first night, we took the 5 minute walk from the hotel to the Timberloft Pizzeria which was located on the property next to the Tenaya Cottages.

Once we got there, the restaurant seemed lively.  There were about four tables open and we thought we would be seated immediately.  A few of the wait staff passed by, then finally one of them said that it would be a few minutes and that we would have to wait for a table.  We ended waiting about 10 minutes even though there were four tables open.  After getting seated, we got our menus.  About five minutes passed and no one came by to greet us.  Another five minutes passed and still no one came by to greet us - no water, no utensils, no "we'll be right with you".  So as we're looking through the menu again, I notice that another group of guests are seated in one of those four tables that were empty when we first walked in.  Then the lady friend points out to me that another group of customers were seated behind me in another one of those four tables.  Ok, that's fine, they were just busy and are finally catching up.  So as we're still waiting for water and utensils, I notice that the two other tables that just got seated now have menus, water, and utensils on their tables.  Now I'm starting to get upset - we've been waiting longer than the other tables and yet they are getting service before we are.  The straw that broke the camel's back was that one table was getting their order taken BEFORE we even got our water or utensils.  This type of service, or in my case, the lack of service is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.  So the lady friend and I get up and walk out.  No one tries to stop us and I see two of the waiters talking to the one waitress who I assume was supposed to be serving my table.  No one comes over to apologize, so I go over to address the wait staff as we walk out of the restaurant.  The waitress says to us, "oh, I thought that was their table - can I offer you a discounted meal?"  No thanks - not after your lack of attentiveness ruined my experience.  We walked out and never turned back.  I would give this ZERO stars if possible.
