This place is NOT for everybody. But it is for me!
The kind of place where....
-sweatpants aren't frowned upon
-the beer flows cheap
-two different people ask you whether you love the horseradish sauce that's served with the onion rings (I did love the sauce).
-the bartender makes you a special shot that tastes like Cherry Garcia ice cream just for the hell of it
-the clientele is a mix of young and old and everybody seems to get along just fine.
If you want to be seen, drink top shelf liquor or fancy microbrews, nibble on small plates, etc, Tom Fischer's is not the right place for you. But if you want to stay real, I'll see you at the bar.
If you've ever heard the song "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" by George Thorogood and conjured up an image in your mind of where George would be drowning in his sorrows, then this is that place. If I could describe Tom Fischer's in one word it would be "cozy." This is the kind of place where you go to unwind, where you go not be be bothered, where the music isn't overpowering your conversation. I would also like to add that for a little hole in the wall, they have some decent beer including Flying Fish Exit 8 and Sierra Nevada (only $3.50) on draft. We also tried their cheesesteak wrap special which consisted of peppers, onions, and whiz-delicious for realz! So if you are looking for cheap beer, good food, and a place to relax, then look no further. You have come to the right place.
