Resurrected itself as... 276 Bar & Grill ( <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/IF5i9Ip-YpLgeUtU1_irTA">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a> ).
Sounds like a re-incarnation of Brandenburg's 276 ( <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/brandenburgs-276-stockton">http://www.yelp.com/biz/…</a> ).
The only reason I came to this place was because my school hosted a free event here. I'm giving this place a 1 star because the music is pretty terrible here and this place is pretty boring in general.
The one good thing I have to say about this place is that they have a Party Bus to act as a shuttle for people who want to drink before hand or there and don't want to drive. Bad thing is that the Party bus only leaves a couple of times before the event and then a couple of times towards the very end of the event late at night. If you want to leave halfway through, and you took the party bus there, you can't. You're probably stuck there until the party bus starts again which is very late.
Probably will never come back here and would rather spend a night at home.
I only came to support my friend's mixer that she was hosting for all the health science students at UOP. Â It was event was 18+ and it was pretty busy and I didn't see too many townies. Â It seemed like there was no dress code since I saw people in their UOP sweaters.
PROS:
- free shuttle service from touche to UOP
- no cover on Thursday
- don't check IDs that well
- stripper pole!
- drinks are reasonably priced ($3 for kamikaze, $7 for sex on the beach)
- "bonfire" in the patio area for warmth
CONS:
- no drinks on the dance floor (maybe because it was 18+ event)
- party bus was pitch black inside and played the same song over and over
- music reminded me of high school dances
I think the only time I'll come here again is if UOP hosts another event and its free.
Looks a lot better since its was remodeled. Â Not too many folks out there on a Thursday. Â There were more people chillen at the bar than on the dance floor. I've heard not too many good things about the area. My friend told me not to go there because she got her car broken into when she went. Â It was alright though. Nothing special. Â And whats up with plastic cups here and at 856? Â
The VIP couches look nice but no one was there to sit in them. Â They have DJ Porkchop there the thursday I went and he did pretty good. Â If you have a group of folks to go with, it can be a cool spot to hang out at. Â They have one pool table in the lounge as well.
hmmm..so a friend of mine hyped it up about it being the spot in Stockton & that it was "gay-friendly" on Sunday nights. So, a few of my friends and I drove down there this past Sunday just to check it out. Â We got there around 11pm and the first "red flag" was getting ID'd and a wrist band placed on my right wrist..Of course..first thing outta my mouth was..its 18 yrs & up?? Being that I am a lil over in my mid 20s..I was already not feeling the vibe. Surprisingly, as I entered, the interior of the club wasn't too bad, pretty classy looking, and the in & out policy was cool. They have a nice little patio area w/ patio tables/ chairs and a fire pit which probably is the only good thing I can say about this place. Â Once inside, it was dead. No dancers on the dance floor. A few ppl at the bar. A few sitting on the booth above the dance floor. Then came 1am, all of the "10-12" ppl were on the dance floor and that was it!
This is where my patience was being tested...
There was a female and a male bartender who didn't even acknowledge that I had just walked up to the counter and wanted to order some drinks..there were 3 other people sitting at the counter with their drinks. No one else was waiting to order but myself and my friends. Both bartenders looked lost as if they had no clue what they were doing..a guy next to me (I was told he was the owner) was telling them what mix to use for a drink! So..10 mins pass while just standing there waiting to get the bartenders attention and finally the male bartender nodded his head in my direction as in he's now ready to take my order! My first order was simple, 3 shots of Patron w/ coke back..(with no attitude or disrespect even after my long wait)...anyways it took him a few mins to find cups..yeah cups..not shot glasses then he returned to me and asked again what I ordered! I was thinking "are you effing serious!" But I nicely repeated my order. Â We got the glasses of patron, it was barely a gulp each and over priced @ 28 bucks for 3 total gulps! Then I went back to the counter, this time I stood on the side closest to the dance floor hoping to get the bartender's attention since there was a step up to the counter. I waited and waited..while nodding my head to the music..two songs later I saw my friend who had just approached the other side of the counter and got service first! I had no clue I was standing at the under age side of the counter...Geez, the bartender could at least have the common courtesy to let me know esp when they saw I have been waiting to get service. Oh yeah...definitely a gay night on Sunday nights but then again, expect the youngens there all hooded up! No offense..but not my place to be.
The drinks and atmosphere were great, but there was just thing I could not take. Â There were brothas as far as the eye could see, I feared for my safety. Â The music was too fast paced and sounded as if it were from the hood. Â For a Euro Lounge, it sure seemed as if it was an American Lounge, where was the tea and crumpets?
Review Source:Every year on the Thursday night before graduation, UOP students get drunk off their asses with the best nightlife that Stockton has to offer. Â It's tradition- so I just had to be there when it was my turn to graduate.
The last time I was here this place was still known as Brandenburg's.. and it's much nicer inside now. Â I'm especially grateful they got rid of that dingy little hallway leading to the restroom. Â Surprisingly, it wasn't too crowded and we had easy in-out privileges without being forced to stand in a fat line. Â Bartenders were pretty cool and well drinks were 2 for 1. Â As the night went on it got more and more crowded and getting the bartender's attention was impossible..
I had a lot of fun that night, but only because of good company and being able to party with all my friends and classmates one last time. Â Can't say anything about the crowd who usually frequents this place. Â This is probably the best bar in Stockton thus far.. Â But you'll never see me going out of my way to come back since I'm outta this shithole..
a friend of mine went there and got jumped and had a gun put to his face... then a co worker went with her boyfriend and bitch made fags got jealous and jumped her boyfriend in the lounge and security did nothing... I went there with my wife... this place just needs to be shut down...its garbage
Review Source:Wannabe club scene! It was Brandenburg's before, and that place was ghetto, but you knew that going into the place. This place is trying to be hip but I walked in with my buddy and had to bounce real quick. Not what I was expecting from a redone place. It looks way nicer than it did before, and the drinks are real cheap, but the setting is horid. If you really need to go to this place I do recommend going to the lounge part, it is loud because the music from the dance side of the bar, but at least you can hang out and talk.
Review Source:We went bar hopping the other night. Â The group that I was with drove around in circles trying to decide on whether to go into the 'Euro Lounge'. Â When the car came to almost a stop, I opened the door and started walking towards the bouncers.
You know when your old when you trump the long line of 21 year olds, the bouncer motions you to the head of the line to let you in. Â Not asking for my ID, he said to me, '10 dollars'. Â Being the PIA (pain in the ass) that I am, I asked him what the benefits would be for me to bring my geriatric group in versus going to the other place (pointing kitty corner at Envy).
Here is what he said:
BD (bouncer dude): Â we have a DJ
me:: Â I have an ipod
BD: Â we have dancing
me: Â like I don't dance at any given moment, with or without music?
BD: Â We've been remodeled.
My bathroom has been remodeled... and I'd rather spend an evening in there than with a bunch of youngsters pointing their fingers at the old people and pay 10 dollars.
Now, I don't know about you.... but BD didn't try very hard. Â And I am not a hard sell. Â I remember the good old 'Numbers' days... walking over to Orlie's and getting a hot roast beef.... and then stumbling over to Flynn's.
My husband and I don't get out much.... mostly to work..... so an evening out is pretty much one of those, 'WATCH OUT, Emily is dragging her husband out on the town' type of nights.
We ended up at Fat's. Â Five dollars, live music, free CD of the band performing that evening, great cosmo.... and me being the lone dancer on the floor.
FUCKING PRICELESS.
For Stockton, it's not bad.  Looks like a very renovated Brandenburg's with a lot more open of a dance floor since the DJ table/booth is more strategically placed.  Have only been on a Thursday, but they have the normal offers.  No cover on that night if you are a UOP student so bring your ID, otherwise it's 10 bucks.  Also the drinks were  2 for 1 and I don't think there was a time limit on that. Â
Didn't seem like a strict dress code since one guy inside had shorts on and many people were wearing T-shirts, but there wasn't anyone who appeared sloppy or too casual. Â Might give some competition again for the night spots that are all in that area, and since it is the biggest of Envy, 856, Santiago's, or anywhere else I could think of, it might be the more popular spot for a while.
