Town Pump the

Ah, The Town Dump! The pride of New Baltimore.

Was downtown just wandering around (Bayrama's going on as well), and decided to stop by here. As I've heard and expected, the place is a total mess and has a stale smell. The bar stools are old and mostly slashed wide open, and the atmosphere's pretty much nonexistent. On the plus side, there are a few HDTVs.

The beer selection is a bummer... from what I could tell, there were no taps, and the only beer was what they had in the fridge behind the bar. Miller Lite, Budweiser, Harp, Newcastle... a bunch of those uninteresting and/or macro sort of beers. I wasn't expecting much.

The beers range in price from $2.25-$4 depending on what you get. Bud Light and the like is at the bottom, while something like a Newcastle Brown Ale is $4. Reasonable prices, but when the look of the restaurant is as it is, what does it really matter?

I took a look at the food menu but didn't get anything because I wasn't hungry, but the prices were pretty cheap (far cheaper than some places in the area), and I was told that the food is pretty good. They also have breakfast on Sundays (from 9-noon), but they prep a day before... so I wouldn't think it'd be much to get excited about.

I'd come here just to try a burger or something off of their menu, but this isn't my place to drink. Not so much because it's pretty much the definition of a "hole in the wall", but because the beer selection is poor. Yeah, they have a wide variety, but it's really all the same style of beer.

Being told that "we have everything" when asking what they had to drink, I should have known what they'd have as far as a selection...

A local hole-in-the-wall kind of place.  Great burgers.  Fun times here.
