I came here for dinner last week with a couple of friends. Â I had the most frightening experience EVER. Â I parked behind the restaurant and entered through their back entrance. Â It takes you through the main dining area which is kind of strange. Â I would hate to be seated back there on a busy night, I can't imagine the foot traffic while trying to enjoy dinner. Â Thankfully, when we were there it wasn't busy and we were seated on the side across from the open kitchen. Â This brings me to my complaint. Â As I walked passed the OPEN kitchen to get to the hostess desk, I noticed that one of the chefs was trimming his fingernails (then was picking at the skin on the palm of his hand) while in the kitchen!!! YUK!!!!!!! Â I didn't say anything at first because I was just trying to process what I had seen. Â Then my friends showed up, I mentioned what I had seen. Â They had eaten here before and said to stay and give it a try. Â I still have no idea why I stayed. Â Service was inattentive at best. Â The waitresses seemed to congregate at the back of the restaurant, hanging out and chatting. Â We got no refills on water, wine or bread. Â To me the restaurant just seemed really loud, I could barely hear my friend from across the table. Â Tables were too close together, too, which I'm guessing doesn't help with the noise level. Â The food for the most part was pretty good. If the atmosphere was more pleasing, I would consider returning. Â But after seeing what goes on in their kitchen and inattentive staff, I think I'm all set. Â Worst of all, I went up to the hostess after dinner to let her know what I had seen. Â I asked to speak to a manager and she informed me there was no manager on that night. Â Really?!! No wonder why you have chefs grooming themselves in the kitchen and waitresses too busy chatting to take care of their patrons. I sent an email last week to the restaurant and no one ever bothered to respond to my concerns. Â Great way to run a business...
Review Source:Had heard great things from a friend about Tremonte. Â Saw a groupon so decided to give it a try. Â We arrived a little after opening (4 pm) on Sunday. Â There was a party "wrapping up" and circulating near the hostess desk/bar. Â Upon entering, our waitress greeted us and said there's a party wrapping up so it's a little chaotic and if it's OK, I'll seat you over here in the middle of the chaos. Â We thought she was kidding but she wasn't. Â It was a bit noisy and young children were running from the back of the restaurant (right by us) to the front/bar entrance. Â Tables around us were somewhat cleared but not cleaned (pieces of food were still on the tables, cake was smashed/smeared on the high bar tables at the front entrance ... not a very good first impression). Â Our waitress seemed stressed but she was attentive. Â We split the Misto salad and hubby ordered the Eggplant/Chicken Parm with a side of Ziti marinara and I, the Shrimp Scampi. Â Generous portions and hubby enjoyed the parm combo and didn't get to his ziti based on the size of the parm. Â He enjoyed the dish but not the ambiance. Â The shrimp in my scampi tasted poached vs pan seared (which is my preference) ...overall, rather bland. Â We've experienced better Italian food in a much better atmosphere. Overall, the restaurant seemed "tired". Don't plan on returning.
