Ate here once and it was ok, being seated took a while which was odd because there were open tables but no one paying attention to the door. The staff seems to cater to the people who are at the bar or near the bar. So if you aren't there to drink, expect slow service. I had a burger and my mate had a salad. The food is typical pub quality nothing to write home about but doesn't taste bad either.
Attempted to go a second time but felt as if we dodged a bullet that time. We were waiting to be seated and encountered two extremely loud guys, one sitting at the bar and one sitting in the dining area. It was like they were competing for the "Who could be the most obnoxious loud, guy in the place" award. This time we were thankful for the long waiting to be seated, wait. We ended up leaving because we didn't want to deal with having to shout over the ear drum bursting duo, just so we could have a conversation.
Chances are we will go back but if the place is loud then we will turn around and go else where.
My mother and I had lunch here today. We started with garlic bread for an app and it was great. Â My mother got steak tips and I got a burger. Â They were both tasty. Â Our server was good until we asked for the check and she took my mothers food without asking if she wanted it wrapped and threw it away before we had the chance to ask for a box. Â She had more than half leftover, so that was a waste of $12. Otherwise it was good, but the service could have been better.
Review Source:They greet you with a smile and popcorn but the water refills left me thirsty! Especially with such salty popcorn at the table. The funny part was that our waitress was standing around a table away and still failed at refilling drinks. I got the French dip which was just cold roast beef topped with melted swiss and a delicious au jus. My boyfriend got the steak faitas and I am so glad I did not! The steak was very fatty and a lot of it had to removed. The sour cream comes in a packaged container without even the allusion that they served much of it. Something about getting sour cream in a cream cheese like container that put me off. I love going to a place and they already softened the sour cream by whipping it a few times that makes it better! Anyway, their guacamole was also lacking in everything but avocado. It was as if eating a mushy avocado and that was it - no onion or tomatoes. Anyway - I am willing to give this place another try but it's just not on the way for me so it may be a while before I report back on quality differences or not.
Review Source:We like tweeds because they take http://restaurant.com gift certiifcates without alot of restrictions or hassle. They also have very reasonable prices, so when we go there we end up with great food and a small bill. We've always had good service here too. We usually get their seafood specials - the fried clams, fish and chips and lobster pie are all excellent. and very reasonably priced.
Review Source:Tweeds needs to come up to the 21st century....total look makeover....ok total EXTREME makeover. Â The place is still in the 70's!!! knotty pine?? hello??? Get with the program people!! Â The food is typical pub food...nothing great, nothing bad. Â Just...food. Â I can't imagine driving by and saying...hey! there's a place to eat!! Â I would just continue to drive by and look for some place that catches your eye.
Review Source:Husband and I ate there tonight and it was Horid.
We arrived at 5:50pm... and there was no wait. (I guess that should have told me something).
We ordered Nachos for appetizer, and while some may think they were "festive", they consisted of Red Dyed Chips covered in Jalapenos, black olives and cheese with a few tomatoes thrown in for good measure. The amount of Jalapenos and Black Olives was just insane. SO many that it was hard to eat.
We had to wait over an hour for our salads... which, again were covered in black olives. Who ever heard of a green salad with black olives?????
I had ordered a drink from the bar, and it was the worst margarita I've ever had. It was straight tequilla and salt. Absolutely horrible.... it went back and I ordered beer just to be safe.
We'd been there 90 minutes before our dinner came out... while others were being served right away.. One table was seated an hour after we arrived and was eating their meals within 15 minutes.. while we still waited.
I STILL have yet to eat my dinner from there because I had to get home to put the kids in bed before they fell asleep at the table in the restaurant. I'm sure cold steak will be just yummy. :rolling eyes:
We were pretty excited to see a place right on Rt 9 not far from our new house, especially one that advertised "all you can eat prime rib"... but we were sadly disappointed.
