Uncle Tony's Italian Cuisine

Uncle Tonys is a family run "one off" Italian eatery gem. Born & raised in San Diego i have had the pleasure to dine at many great places & Italian for sure. I can't say Iv'e tried everything on the menu but what i have is as good as it gets. Lets start with U.T.s ( Uncle Tonys) Bruschetta. By far the best you can buy. Seriously ! Now pizza, UT makes it all from scratch. Fresh is the word here. Like how they add the garlic oil on the crust . Quality ingredients & made by someone who cares. I can keep going about more food but I have to point out something that is rare to find in a small family Italian eatery "great craft beers". Most places that have food even close to this quality serve bland brew. Or you can find great brew places but the food/pizza is just ok. UT covers both well, very well.

Have you ever come to a place to eat and wished that you didnt walk in?

The first time my coworker and I tried to come here we walked in...waited about 2 minutes and no one came to seat us. There were people in the restaurant but no hostess or any servers.

Second time the place was empty. I had to go walk myself to the kitchen to let the waitress know that we in their restaurant. Horrible..

Ordered the lunch special. For $7.99 we got the meat lasagne and the antipasto salad. My coworker also wanted jalepeno poppers as an appetizer.

Jalepeno poppers: $8.00 for 8 of them. These were obviously not made fresh here and I think the costco ones would have been better. There were even 2 that were smushed when they were served.

Lasagne: The meat lasagne was actually pretty decent and wasnt your typical square shape. It was actually baked in a caserole dish and a pretty hearty portion. The marinara sauce had a good consistency and the noodles were cooked well.

Antipasto salad- it was decent BUT after finding a long blonde hair in the salad my appetize was gone. It wasn't your normal small eyelash that fell in. It was at least 10 inches long.

After telling the waitress she came over to apologize said she was going to take it off the bill and make another salad to go. She did end up bringing a frensh new salad but when the bill came the salad was still on there.

Service: Pretty bad..and if you say you are going to take something off the bill then please do it. I didnt want to make a fuss in front of my coworker so I just gladly paid.

Come back again? No no....

Uncle Tony's! Tony personally works and shuts down the shop every night. He's personal and the food is amazing. Local good eats and a variety of top of the market local micro-beers on tap. Definite place to kick it and get a great Italian meal. Calzones are amazing!
