The good - Valet parking - must have in LODO.  Service was very good.  Staff advised us of upcoming specials.  Staff had excellent knowledge of wines.  Fantastic food ingredients, preparation, and presentation.  Varied menu, with selections for everyone.  Very upscale decor.  Fascinating, open, glass enclosed wine cellar for viewing.  The best and largest wine selection that I have ever seen.  They had 4 pages of red wine available by the glass.  The red wine was also broken down by country and region.  Very reasonably priced.  The deserts were amazing.
The bad - We waited a long time for desert, but the place was 100% filled.  This is not  a place for a quiet date.  It is loud, but the place was 100% filled.  While it is very nice and upscale inside, it does not look like an Italian establishment.

I had not heard of this place until it popped up on Yelp during a search for Italian fare while planning a birthday outing.

Upon arriving, we were seated immediately near the windows, the interior was very dim so my eyes took a bit of time adjusting even though it was dark outside.  For a group of three, we sat at a small table with barely enough room for all the water and wine glasses. The tables are arranged tightly so that i literally bumped my elbow into the person seated behind me while removing my coat. - FYI, i don't think they have a coat check.

For drinks our waited definitely hinted at the costliest wine by the glass or Perrier if we wanted water.  My husband and I only wanted a glass of wine each so we ordered by the glass and daughter had iced tea.

As for an appetizer, we had a good laugh because we weren't exactly sure what it was we ordered to share between the three of us.  I mean we knew it consisted of a portobella mushroom but not sure exactly how it was prepared or how big.  our appetizer arrived on a long rectangular plate with the actual serving size about the slider hamburger bun.  we all looked up half expecting the rest - no worries, all two bites were tasty.

The entrees were excellent and we left nearly nothing on our plates.  I had a pasta dish with seafood.  The shrimp were just a bit overcooked however.  The sauce on all of our entrees were perfect.

We had tiramisu for dessert - yum!

Overall it was great but i would still pick Maggianos over this one.

I think this place is great.  It helps that Venice has an amazing happy hour.  The small plate menu that is available during happy hour is to die for.  My hands down favorite is the butternut squash ravioli and I've been craving it all day.  I've only had good experiences at Venice and recommend it.

I wish I could tell you how the food was but after 1 hour in the restaurant all we'd had was some terrible bruschetta.
This menu looked so good that while visiting Denver we decided to go for our final dinner. When we showed up for our reservation we were sat and greeted quickly, good start...
We ordered champagne, we were brought red wine.
We did not order bottled water and were brought one sparking and one still ($6 each)
We ordered and appetizer through our server and about 15 mins later he came to the table and asked if we wanted to order and appetizer (already did thanks for not putting it in)
About 45 mins in bruschetta arrives... Horrific! I mean just terrible. We ate one piece and when a server assistant came by he could tell we were finished. Nothing was said. I'm not psychic but after working in this business for 10 years, I KNOW when someone doesn't like their food.
After some deliberation and the serving not being about to pour champagne into a glass without spilling it all over the table we decided it was time to go... It had been an hour and were fed up.
The manager was very nice and offered us shots and desserts, but at this point, we're hungry and just want to leave. Thanks but no.
We were charged for the waters we didn't order, the appetizer we hated and the salad we never ate. Thanks for the champagne but I would've rather paid for what I consumed then the crap I didn't order and the food we hated.

We walked to The Kitchen and it was fabulous... 5 stars

This is a very nice restaurant and the experience overall was a good one!

The ambiance is nice and our server was, for the most part, well trained on formal dining. I think the tables could have been bigger or maybe the plates smaller. When they brought our entrees the bread plates were in the way and the server didn't pick them up nor ask us if we wanted them removed. That is my only complaint. This is an upscale establishment so you expect everything to be perfect.

We had the Carpaccio al Profumo di Tartufo as an appetizer..multo buono (very good)! An excerpt from the menu....Thinly sliced filet mignon with baby arugula, capers and shaved parmesan; drizzled with a lime-truffle dressing. For my entree I had Saltimbocca alla Romana. Another excerpt from the menu....Veal scaloppine with Parma prosciutto, fontina and sage in a Chardonnay sauce; served with enriched cous-cous Parisian rainbow spring vegetables. I really liked the veal but I felt the cous-cous was a little bland and the vegetables were ok. We also had a bottle of wine which went well with our meal.

Everything was cooked perfectly and presented very well. Again service was very good and the establishment was quite nice. I will be back.

Wow, just wow! The food was so delicious here.  There were 4 people in our group and everyone was blown away.  I had the Ossobuco de Vitello and the veal was literally falling off the bones.  I have never tasted anything this magnificent before.  The veal was bedded on saffron risotto which was incredible, and came with a side of veggies, which I forgot about until the end, but were also extremely tasty.  Definitely a place for a special occasion (as a matter of fact, there was a small wedding reception going on in the back room when we were there).

My husband took me to this beautifully classy restaurant as a surprise for our anniversary dinner a year or so ago. I haven't returned since simply because I want to preserve its significance in my memory.

The service was outstanding; our server was very friendly and treated us like we were extreme high-rollers, even though we clearly weren't (I absolutely love that). I ordered the lobster ravioli, which was decadent-- delightful little pouches filled with my favorite food and covered in a rich, velvety sauce. My beau ordered the veal ravioli and was in love at first bite. I'm sure we ordered drinks, but as he always ordereds a beer and I always order a wine (based on price), I can't remember specifically which ones. We also ordred some sort of chocolatey dessert :)

We came last Saturday for a chefs table event we were hosting and couldn't resist coming back for more tonight. Both the food and the people here are outstanding. We'll be back again and again."

This place has become one of my favorite Italian restaurants.  The food selection and wine list are suburb!! And the staff cannot be anymore accomodating.  My office has held both meetings and Christmas parties.  The only downside I have about this place is the I can never remember my favorite dishes because they change the menu a lot.  But on the upside of things, that just means I get to try out new dishes.  My favorite dishes happen to be the ravioli ones!!

The management should be ashamed.   The service is totally inexcusable and they place should be shut down.

They made us wait for 20 minutes after our reservation for a table and when they did finally give us a able we were inches way from the next table behind us with waitstaff trying to walk in between.

The waiters bumped into me constantly because tables are too close together and the staff won't bother to walk around, they didn't say excuse me or apologize once.   They tried turn side ways but I noticed every single of the 20 attempts in the first 5 minutes.

Oh and don't sit across the table from someone you want to talk to because it is too loud to hear them even with yelling.   They will ask you tap or bottled water 5 times before they bother to bring any.

But the constant bumping into by the wait staff was intolerable.  Had to leave before ordering dinner it was so bad, very bad.

We went to Venice for a friend's birthday, not our typical style, but it was his choice and we are open to new places.

Overall it was an underwhelming and over priced experience. The service was good, the waiter was avaliable from the moment that we sat down straight through to the end, he even split the checks, which for our party of 14 was needed. However, it felt like our server was rushing us the whole time. He kept pushing us to order drinks faster (we were waiting for our whole group to arrive) and then to order food the second the last person sat down. If I am going to drop a lot of money on a meal I at least want to be relaxed!

The food itself was over priced and nothing special. I opted for a pasta dish with sausage, boyfriend opted for a pasta dish with clams. Both were smaller portions and over $20. I get that they are a "classy" place but to charge that much for a dish that I could make for under $5 seemed a little outrageous. I expected the pasta to be fresh but it tasted just like the box stuff that you get at the store. It was not worth the price tag at all.

Overall the place as an older feeling to it - boyfriend and I decided it would be the perfect place for our parents, who are all in their 60s.

With so many great places in the city, this would be one I would pass on.

Service, drinks (wine) and food was excellent! Entree portions were just right. Not too small, not too large. Filling. The wines are excellent. The servers are skilled with pairing the wines with any dish. The atmosphere was sleek and sexy in the dining room near the glass cellar. Hopefully you won't be seated in the front where the receptionist/bar/restrooms are. Steer away from the front seating, it's like pub style. The atmosphere at night is pretty dim but intimate. Spacing between tables is enough to barely eavesdrop ;) Dining area is a bit tightly spaced but with good company who cares. The desserts were kinda dry but the Tiramisu was fluffy and savory. In all 4 stars.

There are way too many good restaurants for me to try this place again anytime soon.

The salad was completely forgettable. No flavor, boring, uninspired. For the entree, the rigatoni was undercooked (sauce was good, though). Cheesecake was served frozen - it should have come with a steak knife, or maybe a chisel.

If you choose to dine here, expect no attention to detail. Expect mediocre food. And for that, expect a high bill.

There is just nothing special about Venice - it doesn't hold a candle to the many, many other good options within a few blocks.

Still one of my favorite places in Denver for dinner, plus I have been there enough now so I don't have to wander all over looking for it.

Yes, it's a little pricey and sometimes it can be a little loud, but I have enjoyed it each time I have been there (I think 5 times now).

My latest excursion was with a co-worker.  We made room at the bar and ordered up a cocktail followed by dinner and a glass of wine.  The food was tasty and plentiful.  I began with the Carpaccio al Profumo di Tartufu and followed that with the Cioppino.

I would have taken the leftovers but I didn't think there was a fridge in my hotel room and the Grand Hyatt.  I was wrong and regretted it later when I was craving a little seafood in the morning.  Oh well, live and learn.

The decor in there is nice, though I'm a little tired of the glass wine room and the pictures of the celebrities in the bar area.  Other than that it is nice.  And the web site could use a little sprucing up - seems a little silly the way it is laid out.

Anyway, I am exploring other places in the city, but if I come back for more than 1 night, I'll probably pop back to Venice on one of those.

We go here quite often, and enjoy it very much.  The atmosphere is fantastic, but can be a bit loud at times, which generally speaks to their business being robust, which it is and for good reason.  Their wine selection is ridiculous, which is only trumped by the pure awesomeness of their wine room, which the restaurant is focused around.  It is a beautiful pure glass room.

We frequently go their for their late night tapas menu, which is incredibly reasonably priced and delicious.

The service is very solid, though slightly disconnected and self involved.  My biggest complaint would be that there are places we go to far less frequently which recognize us far more.  It is nice to be acknowledge for consistent repeat business.

This is my favorite place in the city, hands down. I found this spot when I worked in LoDo and it became our happy hour spot since they have the BEST happy hour - 11am-7pm and then 9-close every day with affordable AMAZING food and wine selections. They have increased the happy hour menu prices but it's worth it still.

Venice definitely has my favorite wine list in town. The ambiance is perfect for winding down from a long day at work or getting ready for a night on the town. I just feel better stepping through their front door because it has that elegant flair so many restaurants in Denver are missing.

Not to be missed: The butternut squash ravioli - not sure what it's called on the menu but I lie away at night craving it at times. It's more affordable to go at happy hour and order two servings of it than to order the entree, word to the wise. It will not disappoint, I promise.

I'm going to chalk this one up to a bad night.

After flying in from Phoenix on a Monday night, my wife and I were hoping to grab some solid Italian to make up for all the calories lost in the tri we ran on Sunday.  Sat on the patio, as it was a gorgeous night, and inside seemed pretty slammed.

40 minutes to get a glass of wine.  Both of us had to pick twice, as our first selections were out.

Clueless waitress, who must've been related to somebody to have kept her job this long.  Fantastic other waitress, who not only took great care of us but tried to make up for the clueless one.

Food was good.  Definitely going to give this another try.  However, for pricey food and dodgy service, it's 3-stars until ya prove otherwise...

I agree with some of the reviews about the decibel level in this restaurant. It was uncomfortably loud even when the restaurant was half full. On top of that, someone chose to play unmatched Soul-ish music quite loud. Why???
Their food is decent but nothing special. Our pasta dishes tasted like they sat under a heat lamp a little too long.
What was odd was the service. It wasn't bad but our waiter might have been as well a robot. He didn't seem to care for our dining experience as long as he served our table as he was trained. There were also so many wait staff who seemed to be assigned to do certain tasks only, which, to us, seemed very insufficient. It was distracting to have a bunch of them buzzing around all over the restaurant. 3.5 for food and 2.5 for service.

They have an excellent deal for happy hour - half-servings of selected entrees at $4.50 each.  I had three items and three wines - all entirely off the happy hour menu only.

I started with the Gnocchi Al Pesto and the Malbec.  I've had fantastic Gnocchi before (at Amore in Cherry Creek, now closed...why?!) which is too bad for Venice 'cause theirs is just average.  The pesto cream sauce was too simply made with simple flavors to render attention, however, it's not a true pesto since it has cream and gorgonzola so it's difficult to compare it directly to pesto.  I could barely taste the gorgonzola.  I also prefer fork tine prints in my gnocchi which shows how the chef puts TLC into the food, but Venice doesn't do it.  It had a fine consitentcy though and just the right sprinkling of walnuts on top - at least they understood the sensitivity of gnocchi, it doesn't like a lot of toppings on it.  The malbec was fine.

Next I went for the Canneloni and the Cab.  Canneloni is only on their happy hour menu but they'll serve it to you for dinner if you ask for it.  It was the best of the three items even though it was something that belongs more at a family restaurant in the suburbs.  The cab was absolutely dreadful, it was a bit spent and the bartender served it to me with a frothy layer of bubbles on top.  If you know the slightest damn thing about wine, you know that you don't serve a glass of wine like that, what a yokel!

Lastly I had the Tagliatelle con Salsiccia and the Chianti.  The tagliatelle was a joke.  Even though there were chopped tomatoes in the sauce, it tasted like it came out of a can, I only finished it in order to get my money's worth.  There wasn't much flavor there and besides, it was a chore to try and even get it to stay on my fork!  No matter how much I twirled, I'd get a mouthful on the fork only to watch it all instantly unravel and slip off like they were live eels before I could get it to my mouth,  It was a race to try and get just one noodle to my mouth.  You need a training course to eat this and why would you anyway, it's awful.  The Chianti was very good and the best of my three wines.

Inside, this is a very assuming restaurant, white tablecloth, three drinking glasses, et. al.  I expect MUCH, MUCH better quality in their food given their presumptuous atmosphere.  They fail.  I noticed they kept the same bar that Adega had when it was at this location, which was the best restaurant Denver ever had!!  Those are big shoes to fill and Venice insults the great epicurian tradition on this block of Wynkoop where Trios still stands two doors down which has impecably outstanding glasses of wine and great food and jazz to match.  Then you got Wynkoop Brewery where I had my best game entree, elk medallions and good beer to match.  Venice doesn't belong amongst these giants, it's what I would expect to taste in Castle Rock!

This would be a great place to take a date - If your date raves about the food, then you know you're dealing with a truly bourgeois palate and you would never need to call that person again.

Was recently there for dinner and everything was pristine. The ambiance was adorable and the wine list was extensive. Our table of 4 couldn't decide on a wine so we asked our waiter to pick something that we'd all like with nothing to go on but "white, not too dry, not too sweet" - he nailed it! The wine was delicious and we got a 2nd bottle.

We were visiting from New York City, where there is no shortage of wonderful Italian food. Venice, however, blew me away. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. It was one of those meals where you keep eating well after your tummy is full because you simply can't put the fork down. Their gnocchi in pesto sauce was perfectly soft and delicious while the butternut squash ravioli had an amazing balance of sweet and savory that gave it in A - in my book (the minus only because I think it could be slightly better with a different sauce which impacted the overall dish). If you live in Denver or are just visiting, this place is great for a night out with friends, family or clients.

Had a great business lunch there today. It's Friday in Denver and I always thought that meant crowded LoDo restaurants. Not at Venice. The place was lightly used and I can't really figure out why. Maybe it's because they're somewhat over-priced.

Aside from the server bringing the wrong side dish for my dining companion, the service was otherwise prompt and professional. The room is swank-alicious.

Also, they make a great caesar salad, and kindly supplemented it with a small school of anchovies, as requested. But to me, here's the best thing about Venice: If you're looking for some authentic Italian food, they make excellent gnocchi. I've been looking for a great version of that dish for a long time, and hadn't been able to find it in Denver. But at Venice the gnocchi is light, flavorful, and just the right consistency. I'd go back simply for that.

Bottom line: $60 for lunch for 2 without alcohol or desserts is too much for what we got (an app + entree, iced tea and espressos). That said, the place has excellent Italian food and some choice selections (like the gnocchi) that are truly delicious. Give'm a try when someone rich or on an expense account is taking you out to to eat!

I've been to Venice on three occasions now and I really like it.  The happy hour menu is unbelievable and the happy hour apps are fantabulous.  I've been there twice for happy hour...and they have two happy hours - one late and one regular happy hour time.  The gnocci and ravioli are most excellent.  One visit, they were slow and the bartender recognized we were into wine and let us head into the cellar with us to give us a tour.  Wow!

Dinner...I don't recall what I got, but the ball and chain's risotto was some of the best I've ever had.  We had to special order silverware for our table--we weren't aware of that prior to going.  So service-wise they lose some points.  But the food is very, very good, the wine list is very good, (not Frasca or Barolo Grill humungous) and the atmosphere was nice.

My wife and I had a wonderful meal this evening at Venice. The staff was friendly and quite helpful with the menu and wine list.

To start with my wife had the broccoli soup and I had the caesar salad. She really liked her soup and the caesar salad was one of the best that I have had. The lettuce leaves were some of the biggest I have seen and I had to cut them with a knife.

I am not sure which ravioli my wife had but I got a taste and it was quite delicious. I had a chicken breast stuffed with proscuitto covered in marsala sauce and mushrooms. My dish was quite delicious and was complemented with vegetables and fettuccine alfredo.

We finished our meal with wonderful deserts. I had the tiramisu and my wife had Profiteroles filled with chantilly cream; covered with
a dark chocolate sauce. I got a small taste and she wouldn't give me any more. They must have been good.

They have a complete wine menu, including four pages of wines by the  glass. They also have a wine cellar in glass in the middle of the restaurant. It is quite pleasant to look at.

You can't go wrong with dinner at Venice.

Went here for my last dinner in Denver. Was suggested to go here by a client and was told that I was sure to love it. WRONG!

Going to this place reminds of that Heinz ketchup commercial where we're waiting for the ketchup to slowly come out of the bottle. Annnticipation.....

It took so long to get our food that by the time we got it, we forgot what we even ordered. I really woulnt have mind the wait if the food was actually good but it was bland! Bland bland bland! I wanted to ask for salt but I didn't want to insult the chef. Anywyas I ordered the roast duck ravioli which was not what I expected. I couldn't even tell the inside was duck bc it looked and tasted like old processed meat. Ew.

As for my coworker he says was definitely disappointed and that he probably would have enjoyed it a bit more if we didn't have to wait an hour for it.

Im not really sure if this place is really that terrible or if it's bc im a food snob due to the great selection in philadelphia, but i know for sure i will not be returning to this restaurant.

I've been here twice for happy hour.
    Fabulous deck! Very friendly servers!
And they bring you bread with oil and vinegar!
The happy hour menu has some great  options and wine for $6 - woohoo!
It is definitely a romantic place!

Most of the happy hour options are definitely small.
The ravioli was amazing, but you only get 2.
The mushroom was ok, i'd skip it next time.
The calamari was pretty good - but i'd probably go to Wynkoop and have it there
The gnocchi in pesto sauce was to die for!!!!  OH MY!!! Little pockets of goodness!

The cab choice on the list was really tasty!

I'd like to go for dinner and try the goodies on the menu, or for desert - that list looked fabulous as well!
For the price definitely make it a special occasion!

I'd also suggest checking out the little sister - Chianti down in the tech center off Bellview - mmmm! Love it!

I had a great meal here, but it was the terrible service that made me give them a 3.

We arrived early for our 8:15 reservation, but were rudely told by the 3 hostesses that they were running about 15 minutes late. We ended up having to wait about 40 minutes and were not even offered water or bread while we waited. I thought the hostesses were really rude and did not give us a good first impression.

We were sat right next to the bar at the first table in the restaurant. The only reason we were sat when we were was because the couple before us didn't want to sit in this awkward location.

We were finally given water about 10 minutes after we sat and then some bread after that. I had to flag down the busboy for some oil and vinegar, of which we brought out a small plate of that was barely enough for 1 piece of bread.

We ended up waiting another 30 minutes and finally were able to flag down our waitress. By this time, we had been waiting almost 45 minutes for any attention and I was so angry. I don't think they would have come all night if we hadn't waved our arms in the air wildly. (We had also asked the hostesses who our server was after about 25 minutes and they had no idea).

Our waitress was slightly apologetic, but seemed too busy at that point to really care. After we ordered, it all become so much better as the food is pretty delicious and the server did bring us 2 glasses of sparkling white wine to apologize.

I would definitely order take out as the food is fantastic, but would never deal with the staff again. I thought they were terrible. Sorry ;(

I am giving it 3 stars, but not for the food...I treated my husband to his birthday dinner on Saturday Jan. 24th. Our reservations were for 8:00pm. We were seated at 8:55pm. The hostess was very sweet and apologized for the wait and said an complementary app. was already on it's way when we were seated. It never showed up. So we ordered another one and were charged for it. I ordered soup, it was delivered without a spoon. It took over ten minuets to get one. By then the soup was luke-warm. I had to send my lamb dish back, It was overly salty. Inedible.

Our waiter was extremely busy, but he was nice, friendly. Tried hard not to seem rushed.  Busser was attentive. Hostess was friendly. Bartenders were overly busy and all business, just doing their job., no chit-chat.  Martini's were just OK.

I thought the it was over priced average italian food. We will moslt likely will not return.

I have been to this restaurant couple times, and now I official declare that it's my favorite Italian restaurant in Denver.  The pastas are just so good.  My favorites are Pappardelle alla Veneziana (pasta ribbons with prawns, clams, mussels, and scallops) and Tagliatelle con Salsiccia (long, flat egg pasta with Italian sausage, porcini mushrooms, and parmesan).  I absolutely love their Risotto all' Aragosta e Fragole (risotto with lobster and strawberries).  It's kind of a weird to use strawberries with lobster, but it was so good.  They also sprinkle some dark sauce, which I think is balsalmic vinegar, around the rim that gives my taste buds a mini-orgasm.

I even like their bathroom.  The fresh flowers on the entrance wall and the large slanted sink in the bathroom are ultra chic.  It really helps messy people like me who splatter water all over the sink when I wash (one of my many imperfections).  Of course, another imperfection is my weakness for carbs...but dang it, I'm just going to let this place embrace that one.

Our first visit to this beautiful restaurant. We came here to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary. We were seated close to two other couples celebrating their 11th and their 51st! Many cheers all around!

Our waiter was a little skeezy tricking us into paying for water and pushing the more expensive bottle of wine. The wine list was beyond large. It is a book. Unless you are a wine connoisseur it's easy to become quite overwhelmed. The menu itself was also large and so many things looked good we almost got the tasting menu with 4 or 5 courses at $60 a person I thought that was a good deal, but we decided we didn't want to eat that much food. Our waiter also told us it took about 2 hours to get through it. Perhaps another time.

We both ordered a salad. I had a salad with baby arugula, tomatoes, red onions, the most delicious buffalo mozzarella, olives, and a great balsamic dressing. Merle had a salad with field greens and big pieces of shaved Parmesan.

Our main course was also very good I had shrimp, capers, and linguine pasta in a light lemon butter sauce. The shrimp was plentiful and the flavor was rich but not to heavy. I loved it. Merle had a chicken and sausage dish with veggies.

We felt as it we were part of the movie Big Night and several times wanted to slam our hand on the table and say God Dammit this is so fucking good! Just like the movie. Of course we never did but had a good chuckle over it.

The food was quite excellent and everything was magical except for the skeezy waiter. I did a little voodoo dance for him that night. But everything else was near perfect!*

I went into the evening really excited about trying Venice, but we ended up having a really bad experience!

For starters we had reservations for 7:30pm, when we arrived a few minutes early they asked if they could set us a table at the bar instead, we said "no, that's ok we'll wait a few minutes until another one is open" the hostess almost laughed as she said "it may be more than a few minutes".  So we headed to the bar and ordered a bottle of wine.  About 20-30 minutes later the hostess came over and said that she still didn't have a table but that the chef's station was open----if it weren't the place that all of the waiters/waitresses were hanging out it might have been ok, but we said "no thanks".

We were seated around 8.30pm and we both decided to do the tasting menu, I believe it was 5-6 small courses.  We were starting our second course, the gnocci, when my husband found a hair in his gnocci----the waiter looked a bit embarrassed but he didn't even apologize or act the least bit concerned about it!  GROSS!

During the next course I was told that they'd run out of the dessert than came with my menu, the creme brulee!  I LOVE creme brulee, and it was one of the reasons I selected the menu I did.  I was not a happy camper.

Overall none of the courses were spectacular, honestly most of the courses were just average.   Considering we dropped over $250 on an "average" meal, we definitely won't be going back and I won't be recommending it to anyone either.

I went ahead and gave them 2 stars because right before the dessert course the owner came over and said "I had 2 creme brulee's that I was saving for someone else, but if you would like one that is fine"!!!   The Creme brulee was the only part of the menu I'd rave about---it was excellent.

Considering the lack of superior service, the sub-par food, the non-existent reservation system and HAIR IN THE FOOD, I'd say your money is better spent elsewhere!

Great wine list. Excellent food and friendly bar staff! What more could you ask for?    How about a Happy Hour that starts at 9PM and features $6 glasses of wine and $3.99 apps?

I had the Mezzi Rigatoni with Salmon in a Gorgonzola Cream Sauce. Excellent. The pasta was perfect, just the right amount of sauce, and a perfectly cooked salmon. My friend had the Chipino, which he raved about.

Dessert was Creme Brulee, and Chocolate Mousse. Both of which were served with fresh berries.

Good service and great food. Glad I stopped in.

P.S. If you are not a wine fan, but still appreciate Italian food, Venice has a great selection of Single Malt Scotch and an impressive tequila selection.

This restaurant is BEAUTIFUL! This was my first visit to Venice. I brought my parents along with me and have had heard good things about the restaurant. We were seated promptly at a table in the middle of the restaurant with a nice view of the wine cellar and outside. The wine list is incredible!

Our server Mike was AWESOME!  His service was impeccable.  He is on of the most attentive servers I have ever had. From the starters to the dessert, was such a pleasurable experience.  His reccomendations were on the money.  The recommendations of the Antipasto and Formaggi platters to the Housemade gnochi and the wonderful tasting menu from Umbria were perfect for all of us. I have been to many restaurants where their staff is not properly wine trained, but he was very knowledgeable and gave a great wine presentation. We ordered the Promis.  Very excellenct selction!

Mario (GM)came to our table and talked to us, making each of us feel very welcomed. The food was delicious!! My parents and I were very impressed, and I will definetly be coming back here in the  near future!! This restaurant is truly a gem!

Venice is one of the best Italian restaurants in Denver.  It's a great atmosphere- PERFECT date place.  If you know anything about wine, it has one of the best wine cellar displays a restaurant can have.  Although I've never been to Italy, I hear from some that lived there that it is pretty authentic as far as American standards go.

It's pricey, but well worth it.  I would recommend it for anyone willing to pony up the dough.

Capallacci Di Zucca...After a two and a half week "retreat" in India (and by retreat I mean hell on earth: 700 calories a day, yoga at 6:30am every freaking morning, and daily nude "fat scrubs") I came straight from the airport and ordered it at Venice.  It is my all time favorite dish.  I realize it's not all that compelling; half the Italian restaurants in denver carry a version, but this is the love of my life.  Honestly, the only other entree I've tried is the pear ravioli at the other location (which was pretty darn good as well) so I have no clue how the rest of the menu fares.  But my capallacci is all I need.

Besides my obsession, this place has lots more to offer.  The atmosphere is gorgeous.  White linens, glass wine cellar, and a hip bar.  Plus their happy hour kills!  $3 appetizers and $5 glasses of wine...it's our winter happy hour hang out.  And yes, capallacci di zucca is part of that $3 deal.  I'm not planning to go to rehab anytime soon, especially when my habit is so cheap to sustain.  Thank you for making me fatter Venice!

Okay folks, what is up with the love fest here?  This is a nice and good Italian restaurant, but 5 stars?  Geez, were you all raised on burritos in Bailey?  or did they crawl under your table discretely?

I've been here a dozen times.  Why? because it has a KILLER happy hour menu, which is a great way to get a cheap nice night out, or meet up with friends (and it's a block away).  However, if they charged full price, I'd be going elsewhere.

So, pluses for decor and for a great happy hour scene.  Service is good, not great, and the menu is good but I've had a fair share of real mediocre experiences.  So, all in all, a good date place if your partner is from Topeka, but if they ever lived in Chicago ir NY, brag about the prices not the food.

without the happy hour: 3 stars; with 4 stars.

So good!!  Went here with 12 other people while we were at a conference in Denver.  The wait staff handled our large party perfectly.  In fact, the waitress was so stealthy, she kept topping off my glass of wine without me noticing until it was too late!  Had the Ravioli di Salsiccia and loved it.  Dessert was the Tiramisu and even though I thought that I was full, I ate the whole thing because it was so delicious.

Surprisingly, the hype of the night was in the ladies' bathroom - the sink they have in there is actually quite unique.  Yet another reason to check out this restaurant!!

Wonderful. I had the seafood skewer which boasted 8 types of fish and shellfish. Mario took great care of our table, including a tour of the much ballyhooed wine-ador.

    Well worth visiting.

In from out of town for a meeting, went out with 8 others for dinner.  Initially the boss had tried to get us in to Maggiano's which I wasn't thrilled about.  When they were booked, we found Venice Ristorante.  It's a good thing that there were a lot of other people suffering Maggiano's chain italian, because we had a great meal

I had a pear salad, fresh sliced pears, toasted walnuts, and blue cheese on a bed of spinach. The toasted walnuts were quite tasty, and worth the price of the salad!

Everyone enjoyed their main courses, with one small exception.  The fried sage in the butternut-squash ravioli was overcooked which tainted the rest of the dish.  As an alternative, the ravioli parmigiano was excellent.

Dinner was a bit slow, but the service was quite nice.  The server was very helpful and informative, without being pushy.

For dessert, try anything with the hazelnut gelato, which is out of this world.

A very nice experience especially for a larger group.
