Villa Nova has by far the best pizza EVER. The ingredients are fresh and delicious.
The crust is thin and crisp and perfectly complimented with a nice glass of wine and crayons on the table so you can do art, drink wine and enjoy your special date
We have dined in, and had delivery and have enjoyed every bite.
The service we have recieved has been over the top.
I highly recommend Villa Nova for a special date night. Be sure to order extra so you have left over pizza for breakfast. It will still be delicious! YUMMMMMMMMMM
I wasn't expecting this place to be so good and reasonably priced! I had the Caprese sandwich with waffle fries and it was delicious. The portions are all a great size and the food quality was very fresh. The soups are all really good too. I liked this place so much the first time that I went back again in the same week!
Next time I need to try the pizza, I hear it's fantastic!
I have eaten here 3 times in the last couple of months. The food and service vary. The pizza has been great each time, the crust is crisp and the sauce/ cheese/ topping ratio is well balanced. I understand now after reading one of the other reviews why I did not detect the garlic we ordered on our pizza. I agree that no restaurant should, in good concience, charge for garlic powder. I have had the calamari each time with mixed results. It has been flavorful and tender and it has been rubbery and bland. The Caesar salad has been very good both times I ordered it. The first time I visited, the service was horrible. The server was more interested in socializing than serving and she wanted to stack my left over pizza up in a tiny styrofoam container. When I stated that it wouldn't fit, her body language let me know that she was annoyed. She clearly wanted to give a verbal response but stopped herself and got me an appropriate means to transport my pizza home. She then made us wait a very long time for the bill and again to close out the bill. This last time I visited, the server (different person) was very pleasant and attentive but not obnoxiously eager. If all restaurant service experiences were like this one, I would be very satisfied. Some people say that we have enough pizza places in Chesterton, but we have a lot of mediocre pizza places. I would say Villa Nova's pizza is better than the rest, if you like thin crust. Oh, and I agree that their bread is delicious.
Review Source:To start with a positive, I will say that their bread was warm, chewy and delicious. Â Can't get bread like that just anywhere. Â Dont get rid of it!!
However, this place needs to step it up a notch. Â One of the people I was with got a glass of Chianti. Â The wine was old and reeked like vinegar. Â Had to send it back. Â The waitress should have offered to open a new bottle, but instead just asked if there was something else she wanted. Â
Pizza we ordered was pretty good but we had ordered garlic and there was NO trace of it anywhere. Â We couldn't taste it or see it so I asked the waitress if maybe they had accidentally forgot it. Â When she came back from checking she told us they use GARLIC POWDER!!! Â
They charge $2 per topping and they use garlic powder?! Â What a rip off. Â With numerous established pizza/Italian places to choose from in Chesterton, this place can't be skimping like that. Â I've heard other people say the place is "cheap" too. Â
The waitress we had was stoic and uninterested. Â Boring!
Would I go back? Â Nope, there are much better options. Â First impressions are important.
